I like the love triangle mostly because it's not getting in the way of their friendship. For now at least. But I don't think it will. Ji-ho is a good kid and cares deeply for his friends even though he's a little flippant about it and plays too damn much. I actually hope he doesn't get hurt caught between those two.

Korean beauty standards have always been crazy. Westerners are learners where they are. Shallow-minded as a new concept? Lol. Have you heard of judging a book by its cover? Korean beauty culture is the very definition of that saying. You think kpop idols are the first people to be made leads because of their beauty? Go look up some Korean TV history.

To read this comment is to think everything out of Korea pre-streaming platforms was a masterpiece. There were plenty trash shows back then same as there are plenty great shows being made now with talented trained actors as the leads.

Good thing you mentioned China. As if there isn't a whole class of c-dramas referred to as "idol dramas" whose entire selling point is the leading cast of mostly untrained conventionally attractive actors.

And just because I'm a sucker for data, I did a quick analysis and of the currently airing and completely 2025 dramas, less than 15% had kpop stars and mind you these are actors like Park Jin-young, Park Ji-hoon, IU, Hwang Min-hyun, Taecyeon, Yook Sung-jae, Sooyoung, etc who are as far from untalented as any actor can be.

The rom is com-ing.

It's not being kind. It's stating facts about this drama in particular. In Resident Playbook what you interpret as bad acting was how her character was meant to be played. Bringing up your reaction to a different drama doesn't change the fact and maybe you could consider that you might have been hasty in making a judgement because you don't like the actor. (I also didn't watch AoS part 2 for a long time because I couldn't take the change in FL but when I did, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.)

That is her character. The director said he cast her for that deadpan expression because that's what the character needed. You should check the interview out on Channel Fullmoon.

Sometimes it's 40+ women too. But keep in mind that it's easier to make swoony comments about the romance than to articulate those deeper parts. And it'd have been great if your comment focused on the queer part of the story that touched you.

I just had this conversation today and the (much younger) person didn't get how you go from lovers to a platonic friendships of nearly a decade.

I also enjoyed The Potato Lab. It had its issues but it was nowhere as bad as the comments suggested.

The ML's character development at the end of ep 2? That speech was stellar. Resentment and anger are powerful motivators.

On the second ep and I'm enjoying this so far. Expectations must have been different or my taste is garbage going by these comments.

That explains it. I'm on ep 2, enjoying it so far, came to check MDL and the rating/comments have me confused.

Charlie holding out as long as he did? Phew. I was rooting for him so hard. Then Babe hit him with that whiny while naked combo and it was game over.

Last ep was a quite meh for me but this episode brought me right back in. I still see the flaws but I'm invested again. They better not cripple or kill Alan because they're spending way to much time on his condition.

Justice for North and Sonic. They've been baiting with them in the previews for three weeks now. They need to wrap it up pronto.

Been a while since I watched a k-drama that was fun all the way. I know they're going to ruin it down the line with palace intrigues and whatnot but for now it's a comedic gem for me. The prince reminds me of Mills and Boon Historical leads from the 90s.
