Every time Tie Xin Lan comes onscreen I hit the ff button. The character is so illogical and annoying af. If I end up dropping the drama it'll be because of this.

Get the police involved for fuck's sake. I don't understand how something like that happens and the immediate reaction is to get jealous, eat a snack, then join a three-legged race. Same way the principal gave sweeping duty to a violent bully. Or Qi Jiahao did not get expelled after that stunt he pulled. Is violence not a big deal?

On1y One isn't that great. Watch The Time Of Fever, similar vibes, but better. That one really is a masterpiece.…
But you're not talking to creators here. You're talking to fans, people who like the drama and are emotionally invested in it. Same way the poor reviews of your book likely have people responding to them and saying they love your books. And for that reason they're quick to fight for you, their favourite writer. How would they feel if you go to them and say, "It's not that serious. This person saying that this my book, that you love, is mediocre/poor/terrible, it's their opinion and you should respect it and allow them to share without responding"?

(Funny thing here is that you're the one who responded to someone's opinion first. And the two people who responded acknowledged your preference/opinion and yet you made it about cult following and defensiveness. You changed the entire tone of the conversation.)

I like all the BLs mentioned so I don't have an axe to grind either way but it makes me roll my eyes when people voice their opinion about disliking something and don't want any pushback whatsoever.

Did you sell 500k of one book or different books? I'm in publishing and that's an impressive number of books sold. Well done.

What the fuck was that ending? Do you have anything to ask me? Bitch your ex stole his idea shouldn't you be apologizing and explaining? And then that five years thing. Seriously? No contact for five years and somehow there's still a flame? After one barely-there kiss? Should add fantasy to the genre.

I enjoyed this drama a lot but the writers made some questionable choices in the second half. It should also have been marketed less as a BL drama and more as a coming-of-age drama with some romance thrown in.

Agree! The female coworker is like a perpetual squeaky toy. I wish someone would remove the sqeaker. For the love…
Squeaky toy. Lmao. Very apt. I tune out when she talks.

I knew the artist was more prankster than anything else. Laughed aloud at some of his antics. He might end up developing feelings for the fl but it's defo going to be one-sided.

Outside of the annoying co-workers, I'm enjoying this a lot. The characters are multi-dimensional and work well together.

The FL and her acting is rather annoying. The coworkers equally as annoying. Sigh… episode 6 and it’s still…
maybe drop it? And watch something you'll enjoy.

What's the limit on how many people a regular account can block? Get the feeling I might exhaust mine before this drama ends.

Really enjoying this with no particular expectations. I'm just curious to see where they take the plot. I have a couple people around me irl currently dealing with heartbreak from relationships that ended not because there was no love but for other reasons. The push and pull is so real. I just feel sad for the leads more than anything else.

Only truly uncomfortable thing in this drama is, they definitely trying to hookup CEK and WJ. I was 100% against…
There are more comments talking about this romantic arc than there is actual action in the drama going in that direction. Looking at characterisation alone, Cha Eun Gyeong is not the type to "do romance". I mean look at how she chose her husband. Romance at this point her in life/career is a frivolity she can't afford. The writers who wrote her that way would know better than to have her do something out of character. But then again, you never know.

I appreciate how she's written. She's naive and clueless primarily as a rookie lawyer, but it's more than that…
Exactly. Your last sentence reminds me of the 2nd ML in The Auditors. I liked him too but his idealism didn't have a strong enough backstory. I get that it's just supposed to be his personality but it didn't quite click.

I enjoy characters like Han Yu-ri. Earnest, somewhat naive and clueless, and over-eager, Because they provide a perfect foil for the main character who is often no-nonsense and more inflexible. They might never be right but they are loyal to a fault and contribute in their own way. The resolution of the two cases in ep 10 were only possible because of her involvement. We've also seen her apply the lessons from Cha Eun-kyung. She's still annoying af but I appreciate what she brings to the the drama as a whole.

Concubinage! ?? what a word to use in this context!!Why? It is ok to love the main characters and fan-girl after…
For a second I wondered if the meaning of the word had changed. A lot of arguments on MDL often come down to one party misunderstanding something. It can be tiring and confusing. You used concubinage right. The rest is projection and has nothing to do with your comment.

I'm loving this show so much. Finally got around to watching the first two eps and Shin Hyun-bin surprised me. I'm used to her taking on more melo characters but she's doing really well in a light-hearted role. I know the story will get heavy later.

If you're wondering whether to watch this or not, you need to approach it with an open mind else you'll certainly find a reason to dislike it especially if you've read some of the comments.

But this show is actually good - people are just into crazy violent stuff these days.
You make good points. And if she wasn't getting lead roles at all or getting cast in z-list dramas with z-list actors I'd be worried as well. Maybe it's because a lot of the best actors don't have many highly-rated dramas to their credit. They tend to choose what appeals to them professionally or choose to work with certain writers/directors over making "hit" dramas. And I honestly think this might be the case here. Whatever it is, I intend to keep rooting for her and enjoying her work.

Yo. I haven't even started this drama and only just checked who Shin Hyun Bin is (I suck at names). Saw a comment I related to and responded to it. Obsessed fanatic? Oddball? You're really pressed that an internet stranger judged you unworthy of their time based on your taste, aren't you?

That said, I agree that Shin Hyun-bin is talented. I disagree with the rest. Let's talk success for a second. She has had steady work and lead roles every year since Hospital Playlist. Her dramas might not be popular or highly rated but they're good dramas and she does a good job (subject to personal opinion 'cos some people think she can't act). Just last year she acted alongside one of the biggest stars in Korea. That's nothing to feel bad for. (Also check the other cast she's worked with.)

This current drama has barely started and you're already projecting failure for it. Why? Plus if you watched any of her interviews you'll know she gives a lot of thought to the roles she takes. There's no monstrous company throwing scripts at her and forcing her to act in them.
