So I rewatched the preview... Previews can be misleading BUT:
1. We see Seok Ryu getting out of the cooking school with her new friends wearing a certain outfit. 2. Meeting her ex with the same outfit and looking at the brochures to study cooking abroad he brought her. 3. When she takes the ring, the ring is actually left on the same pamphlets... and she tries it out siting on the same bench with him... needless to say same outfit.
So... It's fair to say that we can assume that the proposal thing is not a flashback at all... THIS BEING SAID, it doesn't mean she's thinking about it seriously. Her mentioning it in the preview, might just be part of a conversation she's having with Mo Eum for instance. And I'm betting her trying it out the ring is just some misleading tricks from the writers: " Oh, I just wanted to see how it looked on my hand" before giving it back.
I'm still VERY PISSED... though... But at least we've gotten that out of the way. Also Seok Ryu's little brother... annoyingly very realistic. Yeah yeah. Talking from personal experience. Guess we need cancer for the whole family to offer some mea culpa... But I'll take whatever is offered to get out of that shitty depressing melo hole. Given how hey all are, I kinda get why she didn't say anything to them... BUT she still should have told at least her two best friends.
There's still one tiny melodrama that hasn't been addressed which is Seung Hyo's family... and I'm not talking about Seung Hyo's parents relationship but Seung Hyo and his mother's. She obviously feels guilty about some things and doesn't dare address the issue but their relationship is still going to remain pretty strained if they dont address the elephant which has no name in the room.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Seok Ryu's parents... You know... Divorce is not such a bad thing. I wouldn't stay one second with a person who constantly talks about me like I'm a failure and constantly tells me that they hate the life we've built together. If she was so dissatisfied, why didn't she just leave once the kids became adults? ( It's South Korea, divorcing is not a small matter so not even expecting her to divorce while the kids are growing up). I thought the mother had learned her lesson with how she treated Seok Ryu before and her husband but out of these flawed characters I'm seriously losing patience with her behavior... She annoys me even more than Seok Ryu's ex and that's saying something because he ANNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYS ME.
I understand the father's point of view though... BUT the fact he failed doesn't mean she will and Seok Ryu is her own person. Hell for someone could be Heaven for another and vice versa. Given how hard working she's always been, I just don't get that lack of support. He could have said " I haven't managed to get a classy restaurant but if it's you my girl, I know you can do it" and that would have been enough...
But again, we need some more dramas because it's a 16 episodes series. Very disappointed by how this turned out in episode 8... and it had started sooooooo sooooo good too. Seung Hyo's freaking out in his room was hilarious ππππ
But hopefully, it can't go any lower, so I'm assuming episode 9 to be full on angst and episode 10 to finish on a happier note. One week of torture (supposedly) and we're done with most of the heavy stuffs.
Hmm... I liked the mystery aspect of the series... Not much the characterization ... But the end... is basically not giving any clear answers which is really frustrating... The characters have just learned to look at things a different way... and that's not a bad thing... But I'm a bit frustrated by the very vague non-answer we get. Final ratings: 7/10
I really don't understand that type of comments... You're watching a K Drama. A K DRAMA.It's always all about…
I had written Asian in the beginning... But then I thought of Thai dramas which are sometimes VERY fast, I also haven't watched Fillipino dramas but from the few glimpses I got from them... they're much more sexualised than say K dramas or C Dramas... so I changed to K dramas since we are in a K Drama thread. By Asian, I think you're thinking of the big 3 namely, Korea, Japan and China?
Unfortunaly it's really dificult to face this illness. My brother in law had cancer, even my frie d mother, its…
You don't necessarily need to speak about everything with your family... But they should at least KNOW even if they don't know the details... Also this is turning into a melo and I didn't sign up for this >_<
When she took the year off in the US, her coworker were sort of laughing at it. I donβt think even jerks would…
Snippets of episode 8 are available on tvn drama channel on youtube. If you understand a bit of Korean, you see her at the hospital and cancer is mentionned.
why everyone is mad I didn't watch the episode yet!!! how did you watch it already ππ I'm scared now
There are snippets of scenes on youtube ( tvn drama channel) + the preview for the next episode so you can pretty much guess what happens... and you can join the misery group even without having seen episode 8.
So rewatching the preview... I know of the cancer... But Seon Ryu literally hid it from everyone. I'm team Seung Hyo. She really screwed up. I hope she has a really good explanation for hiding this from her family because my God I understand why he looks so hurt and so angry. Also that ex/not ex of hers. Sucks as well. Should have pushed her to tell her family or even tell in her place even is she didn't want to. If she didn't survive or whatever, how hurt would have been all the people who loved her because they didn't do anything. They would have blamed themselves for something they weren't even responsible for.
Makes me SO ANGRY.
Just Seok Ryu... like I can't hate you my girl but what you did just is a NO NO. Your life is yours but you have a duty to the people who love you to protect yourself and to ask for help when you need it.
That preview sucks. I don't know if I should put it on hold and wait for episode 11 ( according to one interview Hae In, that where the true fun starts). I don't know for episode 8... BUT that preview sucked my energy dry. What the hell is Seok Ryu playing at?
" Their relationship is slow paced.." Why are we in a rush....? Let things unfold a step at a time..where is the…
I really don't understand that type of comments... You're watching a K Drama. A K DRAMA. It's always all about the romance being slow paced. I've quit western shows more than 20 years ago exactly for that reason: most shows feature characters who literally make out in the first episode. No cringing, no hesitation, no slight touch that gives butterflies in your stomach, no shy exchanged looks NOTHING: It's all you're hot, let's jump each other.
My God. K Dramas have some staple tropes. We're all here for the tropes. If you don't like them or some of them are no longer to your taste that's fine... But complaining about what is literally the DNA of Romance K Dramas is ridiculous.
I know I've seen him in another drama but his role was actually smaller than in this one, so I can't remember…
I haven't seen Agency! But checking his drama list, I've seen him in "Through the Darkness" and "Happiness"... I don't see how I could forget him in "Happiness"... It wasn't the biggest role but it was one of the most important. πππ
You've summed up everything so well i don't wanna add anything at all!At the end of last night's ep, we saw K'Thyme…
Ah ok... Still don't get why you're putting ΰΈΰΈΈΰΈ in front though... ( Yeah been studying Thai for almost 3 years now). It's very formal... doesn't really fit the situation either, they are just characters so adding it feels a bit weird... but to each one their own I guess. But anyway, good luck for your finals. At least it will be finished by the time the final episode comes out.
Who is the actor who plays the ex fiance in today's episode?
I know I've seen him in another drama but his role was actually smaller than in this one, so I can't remember neither the drama nor the name of the actor... Given he's still not credited I'm not the only one.

Why do you put this K' everywhere? What does it mean? I'm sorry but it makes the reading of your post a bit distracting. Tyme hasn't been shot in the "nice timeline" from what we know... but we can assume it.
For the rest we'll see... Not making up any theories anymore. My brain cells have frozen ^^

Well on the bright side, you'll have no time to think about the upcoming episode until it's released ^^
