That's what I heard after, but kissing out of jealousy just didn't feel right in that moment... that definitely is a reason, but I guess they were showing distinction between Yan Zheng and Xie Zheng

He just kissed her after saying hurtful things. That is harassment! He doesn't have the right to do that. If anything, mediocre righting is letting her be okay with him kissing her after all that. Her searching for him after was out of fear that he has left to die. He has gone to war, unexpectedly. She still loves him but is hurt by being asked to wait for him. Just cause she said that in anger doesn't mean she hates him full stop?

She can also say things in anger, she doesn't mean it, but she wasn't completely wrong.. asking her to wait was pathetic after all that arguing. Yes you can wait for someone you love, but he should have been more forthright with her. And she wants to be with him, no matter the danger, so he could tell her what he is going through, who he is, and she would decide to stick by him, not wait a year...

I dont have a problem with her saying that.... she compared him to song yan, because like song yan, he told her to wait. Why should she wait for any of these men? What I did find out of character was him kissing her out of anger. Maybe in the novel it makes more sense, but his character in the drama, not as much.

all the characters had completed their arcs by then. even those we hated earlier, we were in shambles after they died. thats what you call great writing.

I agree, many dramas do romanticize it, but this one is teetering between both sides. One, it is definitely selling to the fans that enjoy the toxic relationships with it's aesthetic. But, from other scenes you can clearly tell there is nothing romantic about it (that eating off the floor scene.... goosebumps from how uncomfortable that was). And even in this scene, you can tell despite how romantic it looks, nothing romantic is being said. But the tension between them spewing hate is still intense. It's definitely playing both sides.

Oh I can see that, considering how audience's are reacting, it must've been intentional. I personally loved the scenes with he saved her twice more than today... today they just what... made out in a tub? eh.. What was more interesting then the second lead's dynamic was Qimin and the son, that went a little crazy.

But yes, we have far more scenes for the leads I bet, it's only cause they are separated right now that they can use the time to build other characters and side plots.

I don't know if it's favoritism or just filling the space between our leads meet again.

Every episode I have more reason to love Tian Xi Wei! So many emotions coming from her, her character is full of life, that's why it's so easy to like her. The moment she saw her hooligans she broke out in tears from relief they were alive, but also seeing people from her village that was desecrated, scared to tell them what happened... so many emotions.

In other dramas, I wouldn't expect a character to act like this, because they are side characters, they don't spare emotions for anyone other than the leads, but they got our girl working overtime. And I LOVE IT! It breaks my heart, but Chang Yu is such a good character with a kind soul. It only makes sense she feels all that she does. I can't wait for some more happy moments for her too, let's give her tear ducts some rest.

the thing is, I loved that scene so much because it was intimate but not really sexual, just a husband helping his wife out of pure desperation

THIS! It's what I value most about the drama and what justifies the "slow" pace some percieve this drama to have. I rarely connect with side characters like this, but they did it so well. Every body we saw I was just like gasp.... gasp... GAsP.... GAAASSPPPPP

I saw her in New Life Begins and loved her there but her character didn't have as much range as Chang Yu. I'm so glad we can see her full potential with this. Yesss the desperation how will I bare!

Everyone, solid cast. It just made everything more heart wrenching. I really love Old lady Kong and yes even Li Huai An. Tian Xi Wei is my goat, she is killing this performance. Not just the sad scenes, she is stealing the whole show.
