This is so sweet but entertaining, absolutely love this show and both leads. When Se Gye checked himself out in the mirror before seeing her AGHHHHH gawdd this is everything I wanted in a romcom for a long time!
I’ll probably wait a few weeks before I start this 😭 I refuse to go through the weekly waiting pain again…
I usually wait till like episode 8 for 12-episode shows, but this is 14 episodes so I thought maybe I'll start an episode 10. But after reading the comments I genuinely could not wait another second. It's been 4 hours and I'm already caught up, I'm dreading this next week. Stay strong my friend.
Omg I just had to pause to comment how amazing the music was when she drank the poison. I got chills.... Listen again if you didn't pay attention to it, but honestly, it was hard not too! You can hear that change is coming. I'm excited to watch...
LMAO I was reading comments about the music and did feel it didn't suit some scenes.... BUT NOT UNTIL EPISODE 18 WHERE THEY AT THE TEMPLE DID I TRULY GET IT... Omg I had to pause because of how ridiculous it sounds...
The idea of one guy's attempt at a rebellion being used to implicate the person trying to stop the rebellion is already such an interesting plot. A subplot like this is on the scale of a plot you usually see for a whole drama. A lot of shows recently have been character focused, and as much as I enjoyed them, they lacked in plot, nothing super intricate or entertaining. This show is doing it for me in that sense. I'm excited to see the whole plot unfold, considering we now see the nobody is truly black and white. Makes me worried for the male lead now haha...
Omg this nanny.... even on her deathbed... won't stop scheming. Even though she got what she deserved, you can't be happy, because she won in the end. RIP taitai.
BRUH WHAT IS UP WITH THIS NANNY... HOW IS GETTING AWAY WITH DOING ALL THIS?! I'm on episode 9... I really like how the concubine isn't the stereotypical side villain you see in many dramas. She is just a poor woman in love who is being manipulated by those around her. That feels more realistic than the vindictive side-chicks in other dramas.
Same with her daughter, I feel bad for her, I'm sure it sucks being in her position simply because she is the daughter of a concubine. In other cdramas, the main characters are commonly the ones who are the concubine's daughter, so its easy to sympathize with her (despite being spoiled by her father when Jin Zhao wasn't there). I can see though she is starting on a bad path, and that will be disappointing, but I believe she will get good character development.
There is a small degree between a „savage“ joke and just being rude
You're not wrong. I think she was being sarcastic, but the thing with sarcasm, it can be rude depending on context and relationship between people. I don't know her relationship with these people or her usual vibe on the show, but from what I've seen in comments, she meant it as a joke. Delivery is key.
Gu Jin Chao? The name people in China people are pissed about in The Devil Wears Prada 2? So it's a real name... just wanted to say because I was reading the description and was like "where have I heard this before." That aside, show looks good, excited to watch :)
