1. Jang Kang's reveal and redemption were atrocious. Even though he shat everywhere and on everything he could…
I apologize - I wasn't clear and I didn't take notes today, but clearly there is some reason why Jang Gang was willing to bring Jin Mu on as an assistant. And somehow Woo-tak and Jin Mu were associated with each other. Shaman Choi and Jin Mu have been working together for a long time - how did they know each other? Jin Mu said that Bu-yeon's father was a descendant of the Choi family - that was a shock. It's not Woo-Tak. Woo-tak believes her father is Jang Gang. So, I'm just connecting some dots. And of course, if her father IS Jang Gang, then that throws a very nasty wrinkle into things, doesn't it - also gives the viewer a "positive" reason why Naksu cannot stay in Bu-yeon's (JSM's) body.

Aramintai, you and I have disagreed in the past, but sometimes I think only a handful of us are really watching this show in its entirety (and I admit, I've been FF through quite a bit recently). That soul-shifter non-sense at the end with Jang Kang made no sense - he had no need to do so if he went back to his original body after shifting with the King. Perhaps we will get some back-story in Season 2.
Based on what we heard today, I think Jang Gang is a descendant of Seo Gyeong and I believe Seo Gyeong was the original Choi who discovered Soul Ejector. I've re-watched those scenes and I think it's the same mage. Jin Mu using the shaman bells? he's a Choi - and therefor his relationship to both Jang Kang and Woo-Tak. Maybe the ice stone is gone, but the 200 year battle with the Choi family is not.
If Woo-tak survived, then I hope he isn't sacrificed again - should have just let him die. In the end, he DID care about Bu-yeon - that was a surprise.
I' would also like to understand how it was that So-i was able to remove the worm? It never made sense to me that the Shaman Queen would be willing to move into that body, but it was clear today that Jin Mu has been double-dealing her all along.
I watched tvN's live broadcast of ep 19 the queen was lighting up a soul ejector in her hand just before the scene…
No, it was there - they had two different conversations. I watched some of the live feed as well. I'm marking as spoiler and would ask that you do the same since many folks have not yet been able to watch Ep. 19 yet. 😊
I really don't mind GYJ as the lead ,those actions she portrayed at the beginning were a killer ,I can't wait…
Not to take anything away from GYJ's acting skills (which are unknown to me), but that was a stumt double performing most of the action scenes. Crouched on the ground and hitting a sword against water isn't that difficult. if you are in shape.
I think with all the planned soul-shifting by Shaman Choi and Jin Mu that something will go awry. Call me crazy,…
Wow, I went to be (different side of the world) and got up early to watch. Things got crazy. Anyway, here's my wild thought - I just can't wrap my head around the JBY by the creek in sari village (waiting for her parents to find her) and the JBY priestess talking to Naksu in the ice stone. So, what if JBY is shifted into so-i's body. It would be sort of crazy thing the Hong Sisters would do. 🤣🤣🤣
They keep saying about plot twists, unexpected twist in this final,What if, someone we think is "good" actually…
I think with all the planned soul-shifting by Shaman Choi and Jin Mu that something will go awry. Call me crazy, but I think there is hope that JBY will live - in a different body. 😎😎
I have a confession guys, its weird how I LOVE THIS DRAMA. To be honest, I can do without the "romance" between…
You are not alone, but keep in mind that different "romance" tropes appeal to different viewers. I recently re-watched parts of Sh**ting Stars and I absolutely adored how that romance finally came together. It is my favorite trope. Frankly, the Park Jin/Maidservent Kim "romance" is more like Sh**ting Stars than the other main AoS couple. I cannot wait for Part 2 of AoS because of Park Jin/Maidservant Kim AND the adorable ChoDang couple.
I have hesitated to post this previously, but perhaps now is the time. A Main FEMALE lead doesn't necessarily…
"Main Female Lead" means the female playing THE lead female role. It doesn't need to be romantic. I'm not predicting, but if - for example - Jung So-min returns as Jin-Bu-yeon with her own MAIN story (separate from Jang Uk), she would be THE female lead. I am simply trying viewers to realize that THE Main role is not necessarily A Romantic role. We will get our answer at the very, very end of Ep. 20, it looks like. 😊
Here is a very fun and intriguing article that interviews the main actors to find out their favorite scenes. If this sort of stuff interests you, I urge you to read the entire article (difficult for English speakers) and the Twitter page by "alchemy Of sOuls" that provides an easier to read English translation. Meanwhile, these are my paraphrased notes and thoughts.
JSM: JBY’s summoning scene at the end of Ep. 17. [paraphrase} It was meaningful because it was the scene where the soul of JBY who was asleep, for the first time woke up and mother and daughter faced each other. [Thereby confirming for us viewers that JBY has been “asleep” and not just an empty shell.]
LJW: End of Ep. 3 where JU and Park Jin confront each other. “I think this is the scene that bests shows the character JU, who is hurt and not broken” [My note: That scene is my favorite because it perfectly captures the OST “Scars Leave Beautiful Traces”.]
HMH: Ep. 18 fight between Seo Yul and Kang Gaek-joo, because he (HMH) put a lot of effort and he was risking his life to protect someone [Yul: She’s not worth it – she deserved to die.]
YJS: Ep 1, the original confrontation between Park Jin and Naksu.
ONR: Ep. 20 – and she can’t say why. [paraphrase: there will be a lot of reversals and things to see until the end.”]
YIS: Ep 16 where the three guys sit around talking about their childhood memories
Arin: First appearance of Cho-yeon with the spring cherry blossoms and her sword. [Sweetheart, you should have chosen the scene with Gwiju – it was breathtaking!]

But all is good, my favorite couple ChoDang is featured in the ep. 19 Pre-release! (Will post Eng translation if I can find them)
