I'm surprised more MDL viewers aren't commenting on this drama. 95% is fun and light-hearted (and I FF thru scenes with the villain because I don't need know the ugly details to understand that he evil and will likely end up as shark bait or something). I'm wondering if the police characters are as corrupt as they appear or they are trying to infiltrate the One Club.

I like romantic comedies but I'm glad the focus is on the "family" rather than "the couple" and if it ends with them agreeing to start dating, I'm good. Ji Sung hasn't done a real romance in years and he definitely avoids any closeup shots of kissing.

I think Ho ran is still alive (altho ju ramen may not know). Since a Season 2 is possible, I think they certain things open, altho it would be difficult to bring Palho back.

I enjoyed this drama at the beginning because it was funny and im ji-yeon did a great job reflecting the fish-out-of-water story. But…..Iirc, I watched some of Ep 13, but never bothered with the final. I watch mainly for plot/writing and great acting or “chemistry” isn’t enough to make up for significant plot holes.

I loved it. One of my all-time favorites. The writer originally planned it for 16 episodes but directed to shrink it to 12 and it was clear at the end that a Season 2 is planned (altho THAT decision remains with the network JTBC that is unfortunately in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings). There were a couple of unresolved questions (presumably left for Season 2), but there were no plot holes and the plot twists were not at some unexplainable fantasy level.

It's a fake wedding and it's part of a larger scam. Romance might come near the end, but no indication thus far.

Not a plot (country romance) that normally interests me and I really don't like dramas where all episodes are dropped at once, but. . . . . heaven sake, that cast list is full of favorite veteran actors that I'll give it a try. Now on my watchlist.

Meanwhile, The Apartment Job is already matching the "1st weekend" ratings of The Reborn Rookie that ended (final episode) as one of the highest rated kdramas in the past several years.

I don't think so. But if there is a glimmer or flutter. . . .I think it might be between Ha-ri (who finished law school but cannot pass the bar) and Je-Gil (someone who attended law school but for finance reasons, could not finish??) . Ji Sung avoids full press romance in recent dramas. Whatever "romance" (i.e. heart flutters) there may be in this drama, I don't think Ji Sung's character is part of it.

The overall focus/arc of the drama is the creation of a pseudo family. The 10B Won is the "background story" and altho significant, not the primary story.

I'm still a bit confused, but there is an organization called the "One Club" and one of the main characters (Lee Chung Won) is also somehow involved (the owner?) of the apartment complex where Ha-ri's sister works. As for the cops - not clear is they are really, really bad (ie corrupt)) or if they are actually trying to infiltrate the One Club for police business.

Regardless, the viewer (as in ME) is rooting for Hae-Seong (Ji Sung character) and the pseudo family he will be creating. The motivation (10B won) is not as important altho I always want the end game to connect the dots.

Terrific 1st episode. Introduced the good guys and most of the bad guys quickly and easily understood. More to be revealed, I'm sure, but very fast-paced and fun.

Definite "The Judge Returns" vibes with to-be-revealed conspiracies and Ji Sung's character once again scheming and manipulating his way thru the plots and sub-plots.

haha, I just read the history of King Munjong (Crown Prince Yi Hyang) and it's rather sad - three different Queens (first two were deposed). Much as I like Kang Hoon, I don't think this one is for me.

First watched him in Secret Romantic Guesthouse and he outshone everyone else (IMHO).

JTBC filed for "bankruptcy". I'm not sure what the legal terms are in Korea but in the USA it would be similar to Chapter 11 - request to refinance/reorganize as opposed to outright shutdown.

Maybe he's taking a break? He filmed "The Judge Returns" and this drama almost back-to-back. Very unusual for him to take on two dramas w/in 12 months.
