I believe the lottery ticket proved otherwise. Unlike the other events (shopping mall, flowers, the stairwell) that wasn't anything she told him about before he did it - it was his own idea to cheat.

I may not be captivated by this drama, but I find that it one of the least stressful (contract "Queen of Tears", lol) watches in quite awhile.

The real plot "hole" is that apparently Se Yeon had to die so that Gwi-ju could save Da Hae.

Not my idea of "romantic".

Did I say I "hated" it??? No.

I've watched a lot of kdramas that involve 'mysteries" - what happened in the past? who is trying to kill someone? Who is the traitor?

A well-written story gradually unpeels the onion, displaying layer upon layer of facts (clues) - whether actions, statements or internal thoughts.

My dislike of this one fragmented scene is that the writer is still hiding what Se Yeon spoke out loud (which Yi-na heard) and what Se Yeon "thought" (which Yi-na may or may not have "heard"). The viewer knows that Yi-na is traumatized by that sequence of events - but we still don't know the precise nature of her trauma. So, we will get at least one more episode with another fragment of that scene - that's why I call it lazy because it is apparently irrelevant to the main story of the main couple.

We have now watched bits and pieces of that event. Producers are playing games with us - which I always resent.

In Episode 1, Yi-na looked into the mirror, saw her mother's eyes and her eyes turned blue. No words were spoken/heard. There was a blinding flash of light and then the car crashes over the barrier, the mother screamed (implying it wasn't intentional) and the wipers were also working (rain?).

In Episode 7, we see mom actually talking. Then we hear more words - it's not clear if she is speaking or thinking. Yi-na looks into the mirror but her eyes do not turn blue. Next is her mother swerving violently

Did her mother say out loud "Daddy is not coming with us" or, did she simply say aloud "Daddy. . ." and the rest was her thinking that Yi-na heard even though the blue did not appear in her eyes.

So, viewer still doesn't know the precise sequence of speech/thoughts/blinding white light, etc.

Sometimes, a writer/director can try to be too clever - it's called lazy writing.

Jumped the shark w/ep. 8. Several interesting scenes and dialogue with the NON-OTP couple, but the so-called "romance"?? Unless there is some sort of "alternate universe" at work, it's unsalvageable. 😒😒😒

Yeah -- it really doesn't bode well for Da Hae, does it???? But, not to worry - the hocus-pocus, mumbo-jumbo, abracadabra brigade is ready and waiting to explain how somehow, miraculously, she is different. Or, Gwi-ju is different. Or. . . . .dang, I just can't.

This makes ZERO sense. I understand the theory and perhaps where the story is going, but it makes ZERO sense. I swear, there have been times when I thought the drama was headed in the "alternate universe" story arc and at this point, it is pretty much the only thing that would explain how one specific ring could exists side by side.

THAT would be the perfect ending for me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, and that mother is a BAD mother. And the fathers who neglect their children are BAD fathers.

I've never liked him - now I hate him. And the two mothers.

I don't understand viewers who think he is romantic. I know that many do. . . . but I don't understand it. Simply does not compute.

What I noticed is: in Ep. 7, the woman who put her LEFT hand on his shoulder, had a ring on it. The woman in Ep. 8 (a different evening?) did not.

Just sayin'. But, perhaps I should re-watch.

Presumably, we will find out in Ep. 8. It is clearly not his wife, but difficult to determine if the ring is identical to The Family Ring. My wild guess? He asked that person to meet him.

Father Soon Gu knows that something does make sense w/r/t that Family Ring - because, if camera hints mean anything, was in one of those ring boxes at the wedding.

I theorized last week and I'll do it again - if the latest poster means anything, there is another family member that has not appeared yet OR Father Soon Gu has his own superpower. .What is the importance of that cave or tunnel that Da Hae saw when she first visited the estate? Is Da Hae a distant relative w/her own power? 2 episodes ago she pulled it out of her suitcase - time for the writer to tell us how she obtained the ring.

If he was having an affair, they wouldn't give us all of these ambiguous "hints". So, no - he is not cheating. He loves his children and grand-child.

AND, he knows - or suspects - more than anyone else - including the viewer. the "family "ring" was in one of those boxes! That's why he kept looking at the box!

If he was a villain or cheater, Yi-na would have known by now. Meaning, after Seven years of living with a grandfather who she trusts and has treated her with affection and concern time and time again? And who she can "hear" his thoughts occasionally (or, writers going to try and convince us that in those seven years, she never once - Never Once - saw his possibly "nefarious" thoughts)??

Pffffttttt. If that happens, this drama is worth about . . ..1/2 ⭐

If Grandfather was the villain then why didn't Yi-na figure that out long ago????

in fact, Yi-na trusts him more than anyone else (he was the 1st person she tried to call when "Uncle" was stalking her).

Thus far, writers have been straight with the viewer - there is more to be revealed, of course, but no reason to believe that he wished to harm his son, granddaughter and daughter-in-law.

I believe it was an accident because the mother screamed (in the first flashback) as the car went over the barrier. That's not the reaction of someone acting intentionally.

It's still not clear what Yi-na "heard" when her eyes turned blue. In today's episode, her mother was speaking while well inside the tunnel. I re-watched again - her eyes didn't turn blue in today's episode and they didn't show the eyes-in-the-mirror sequence. Which may be a mistake by director OR we are still missing a few seconds??

Perhaps we will find out that Yi-na's eyesight was damaged during the accident (the white flash?) because there wasn't any indication that she was squinting or having trouble looking into the front of the car.

I'm lowering my rating for the show, but if the cliffhanger in Episode 8 provides an awesome surprise, I'll reconsider.

I don't like the romance. Do-hae as "magical" cure for everything that ailed the family is a farce. A family that is supposedly suffering from various disorders (physical and mental) needs help, not hocus-pocus. However, IF the writers eventually come around to that point - namely that there are no magic cures for these disorders, then I'll move rating back up.

And I will definitely move it up if Father Soon Gu turns out to be the real hero of the show.

Best line today: Yi-na to Grandmother: "you're a thief too."

Perhaps "Mom" has something on her as well. In a prior episode, she talked about how she wanted to be an actress, but her only value was her body - her so-called mother prostituted her out. I think the same for Uncle.

However, the made-up family of crooks acts more like a family than the super-power family. They protect each other, look out for each other, eat together.

The writer made it clear today - the two really "evil" (heartless) characters are the two mothers.
