Episode 45 Preview:
"When he [Yeom] finds out that he has been deceived by Sookhyang all his life, he can't hold back his anger. Hyosung returns to the company at Taemin's urging and tells Hyo-shim not to look for his father anymore. Thanks to Ruby's SNS promotion effect, even celebrities come to Sunsoon's café. Tae-ho comes to Uicheon Villa to persuade Seon-soon, who is against the marriage, and everyone except Seon-soon welcomes Tae-ho. Meanwhile, Tae-hee feels sorry for Tae-min, who always takes care of her, and tells him the story she's been hiding."
When the show ended last week, I couldn't figure out why Tae Hee was there at the door. What was the connection? But after today, when she listened to the entire conversation, I think Tae Hee knows what happened the night of the accident. Time for Tae Min to put his family back together - father, sister and eventually Hyo So.
Another great episode featuring the cool, brilliant Kang Tae Min who, unlike his brother, remains in control of his emotions while determined to search for the REAL truth and justice. And Granny! when Tae Min previously asked you for the evidence, you should have trusted him! (of course, the show would have ended 10 episodes ago, but still. . . .). Preview for tomorrow is below and based on ig photos, Tae Min finally sheds the turtlenecks, but swaps them for black suit and tie. Wardrobe folks - the man does have some artistic leanings so level up. in one of the photos, Tae Min is carrying one of those chicken wing bags, so I'm expecting some nice brother/sister moments. 😊
Jin Bum didn't find out about the cancer until AFTER the accident. I thought he indicated that if he had known before, he might not have reacted the same way. I wonder if Dragon Mom knew.
Also happy to report that Hyoshim finally went home after 84 yrs and her apartment still exists.
I wrote a comment several hours ago (before subs) and I guess it got lost but the essence was that they returned to the apartment because. . . Product Placement!
I don't recall Grandmother saying that Jin Bum was sterile - she said that after years of trying, they didn't have a child - 40 years ago, I don't imagine the family did any sort of fertility testing. But perhaps I missed something that specific - I tend to FF through certain scenes.
Re: Father Lee. This writer is doing a good job of sprinkling red herrings around w/out blatantly deceiving the viewer Example: Yeom's implied (but never definite) connection to Tae Hee. So, perhaps Dad Lee wasn't cheating on Mom (as currently implied). Perhaps it was early dementia - the clue is playing chopsticks. Perhaps that's why he walked away w/out telling anyone. That would be a very poor-ass reason by the writer, but it would get us to a final kumbaya moment. Frankly, I hope he cheated - because then the family can turn their back on him and Lee Hyo Seung can walk Hyo Shim down the aisle. Win-win.
I'm glad I got one prediction right (Yeom not her father). Demon Mom wanted to produce a son and so she got pregnant somehow and told Yeom he was the father. I think it was artificial insemination (that's why he believed her) but perhaps she slept with a long list of candidates trying to get pregnant.
in the end, I think she's Jin Bum's daughter because . . .Tae Min. No other reason except that ties a neat bow on their relationship.
I also think she might be the key to what happened the night of the accident - perhaps that her mother and Yeom took off in a car as well? Or, she overheard her parent's arguing?
This teaser isn't brand new but I just realized that at Mark 10, the character of Go Dae Ri (played by Yoo In Soo) comes face to face with a dead zombie who could be the brother of Gwinam (also played by Yoo In Soo) from "All of Us Are Dead".
This one was the one shown in ep 43? Probably they intentionally held back Mr. Yeom in the scenes there while…
That's my overall point - there is still much to be seen w/r/t the accident. Based on the instagram photos, Yeom was at the scene, altho not necessarily the culprit.
i'm hoping it was Dragon Mom that caused the accident, (crossing fingers it wasn't Tae Hee!) There was one small hint back in Episode 7, but the conversation (between Mom and Yeom) was ambiguous and after that, everything began to point to Jin Bum.
Mom has been willing to have Jin Bum take all the blame for the accident, but if she tries to make Yeom take the blame for this as well, that may be a bridge too far for him. And it may explain why Tae Hee is now a featured player in this particular plot twist.
@Kathryn_51 Can I say that I am pleased with the positive developments in Tae Min's character and story line.…
Yes, KevinToronto, you may say that you are pleased with Tae Min. 😊
As a fan of Tae Min, I've noticed the many times that the writer has inserted casual scenes and dialogue to show that he is a kind man carrying enormous burdens. He was only cruel to one person - his wife and I don't think I'll ever forgive the writer for sending her off, never to return apparently. I don't think Tae Min will change all that much (I hope he doesn't!). He's always been reserved (you say "aloof"). While Tae Ho was fidgeting nervously and chattering away, Tae Min understood (and folks say he isn't empathetic!) and responded with physical action (bottle of soju, elevator) rather than talking. I'm glad the writer kept him in character.
Another victory lap for the brilliant Kang Tae Min who figured out that his abeoji did not kill his brother and wife. This one is easy and has been from the mid-point of the show – there was a 3rd car on Daegwallyeong Pass.
Former Detective: “We examined the tire tracks on the road and found out there was another car that caused the accident”. Meaning – another car that either rammed into or hit Jun Bum’s car. “It was in a remote area. . . .o no cameras". (and at that point? Of Course there was another car!)
Tae Min is the only one who knows about the tire tracks. Director Park Jin Myung also probably knows – he’s the one who took the car and the dashcam footage. [Note, we’ve been hearing about Director Park since the very early episodes (5 or 6? Checks notes: actually, it was Ep. 3, lol) I hope they have a great cameo actor to play Director Park.]
Jin Bum didn’t hit his brother’s car. He swerved and crashed into the mountain. That’s why he kept telling TM that “I didn’t kill them”. However, Jin Bum believes he indirectly caused the accident – so he feels guilty.
Finally, sometimes it isn’t just what you DO see on the screen – sometimes it is what you DON’T see. Prior episodes have shown the car going over the cliff and rolling down the hillside. We didn’t see that in Episode 43 – and it would have been easy to insert those scenes. Nope. We now know that Jin Bum was unconscious - and it would have been easy for the writer to keep him conscious if indeed the car immediately went over the cliff.
As for WHO did cause the crash? I don’t know, but Lee Kwang Gi (Mr. Yeom) was filming near that area last week – with lots of those orange barrels scattered about.
My absolute favorite Yoo In Soo plays the character of "Assistant Manager Ko" in this drama. Under normal circumstances, his story would be heart-breaking (he's dead 😥😥😥) but as always, In Soo is chosen for a reason - his ability to bring humor and controlled chaos to every role he plays.
I hope it's on a legal streaming site - otherwise, I might break my "legal only" rule.
Jin Bum confirmed to Tae Min about his presence in the accident of Taebro's parents (explains everything according…
Now, this is just a wild guess, but I think they may have used artificial insemination. Maybe because the thought of dutiful Mr. Yeo being forced into actually doing the deed with Dragon Mom is beyond my poor little brain.
Jin Bum confirmed to Tae Min about his presence in the accident of Taebro's parents (explains everything according…
This thread is getting so long that I'm not sure which comment you are replying to. 😊 I haven't had time to re-watch, but my impression was that Jin Bum changed his mind at the last minute (which doesn't absolve him of anything) and perhaps decided to simply try to kill himself. The other car swerved - but we did not get the replay of formerly viewed scenes where the car goes off a cliff, rolled down a hill and eventually burst into flames. So, I ask myself - WHY NOT? Why didn't the writer/director replay those scenes we have seen countless times before?
Answer: I gotta go back and re-watch the scene with the detective, but my notes say that "another car caused the accident" - as in, another car swerved into or hit Jun Bum's car. That's why Tae Min asked at the end "who killed my birth father" or something like that.
I would have re-watched it last night but I finally found time to watch "Dr. Slump" - priorities. 😊
Jin Bum confirmed to Tae Min about his presence in the accident of Taebro's parents (explains everything according…
I think it simply means that Jang Sook Hyang is the "real culprit". The chart hasn't changed since the drama began - it still has the original Jin Bum actor shown.
Thanks for translating the other word. I pulled out tmy "Learn Korean" handbook I purchased awhile back (but never used) and looked up the letters you typed. It's time I started practicing.
Best part: Ru-bi and Phillip’s visit the Loan Shark and reduce him to a blubbering idiot.
Lovely Moment: Tai Min still calls Jin Bum “Father” (abeoji). I may be wrong, but I believe he spoke formally to Dragon Mom.
Another great moment: when the extremely intelligent Tae Min figured out that his father did not kill Jun Bum and Min Young (although most viewers won’t remember why, so To be continued)
Teary Eyes: Yeom and Tae Hee (No, he didn’t admit to anything).
One small crumb that Su-kyung may still return: Although the wedding photos are gone, many of the other items that Su-kyung brought to TM’s house (bed linens, paintings on wall, lamps, mirror and feminine items) are still in Tae Min’s room. Not sure what the set designer is trying to communicate.
Jin Bum confirmed to Tae Min about his presence in the accident of Taebro's parents (explains everything according…
Perhaps another car was involved - Jin Bum was knocked unconscious - perhaps much longer than he realizes.
Weeks ago, I wondered if Jin Bum's anger toward Jun Bum was because of Tae Hee. On the KBS Relationship chart, there is a dotted line between Tae Hee and Jun Bum - but I haven't been able to translate because it appears to be handwritten (not print) Hangul.
Edit: Ooops, wrong on the last part. No mention of Tae Hee as a reason for JIN BUM (Chairman) chasing his brother.
Really enjoyed this show but only because (1) I knew the winner up-front and (2) I could watch as much or as little as I wanted. I don't think I could handle watching 1-2 episodes a week because the cliffhangers were really amazing and I would have chewed my finger nails off between episodes.
I've been away for several hours, but just checked Viki and Episode 44 is now available (7:30 pm PST) - which I think is a bit earlier than usual?

Nicely played, director/writer.

Looking forward to Season 2.
But what usually comes first is the couple waking up in bed together after a drunken spree, so. . . .hard to predict.
Whenever it occurs, I expect Mommie Dearest to arrive from the USA within 30 minutes.
