thanks Kathyrn51. The grandfather was a main role in Love in your eyes, but they have listed it as a guest role.…
The original three actors were identified before the drama began. I cannot find the article where I read it - but I looked them up on MDL at the time. The change in Kang Jun Bum actor is new.
This is my belief (and, of course, I may be very wrong): they filmed scenes last summer with the original Jin Bum actor. When he passed, they could no longer use those scenes. I would love to see flashbacks of what actually happened at Daegwallyeong. Plus, flashbacks of Jung Bum (TH's dad) and Tae Min. Or grandfather and grandmother. I imagine Tae Ho fans would like to see scenes with his parents as well. I think they would be very powerful and boost ratings.
1. KANG JUN BUM (Tae Ho’s father) I must make a correction. A couple of weeks ago, I commented that the role of Kang Jun Bum would be played by Park Hyung Joon – this name was identified on Wikipedia months ago and I also remember reading it (but never book-marked) an article. Jun-bum’s photo was shown at the art gallery when Tae Ho and Hyo Shim visited (Ep. 32). However, both Namu Wiki and Korea Wiki say that the role will be played by Yoon Bok Sung (https://mydramalist.com/people/65915-yoon-bok-sung) and indeed Yoon Bok Sung’s name was listed in the Special Appearance credits for Ep. 32. Yoon Bok Sung is known for “voice-over” acting and minor guest appearances.
2. SEO MIN JEONG (Tae Ho’s mother) Kang Joo Hee (https://mydramalist.com/people/99825-kang-joo-hee) was also listed in the episode 32 credits and it appears that it was her photo that represented Seo Min Jeong in the Art Gallery.
3. KANG GEUN MAN (TM and TH Grandfather) Veteran actor Lee Ho Jae (https://mydramalist.com/people/4454-lee-ho-jae) has been listed in Wikipedia for months to play the role of Kang Geun Man.
heh, yeah i think TM could be the illegitimate child, aka born out of wedlock which would have been still a huge…
Tae Min's mother is "Jang Sook Hyang ", but you are correct - she has treated Tae Min as a tool to gain more power/status/money and was never overly concerned about HIS happiness.
I responded below about Tae Ho going to the USA - apparently it was Granny who sent him.
🤔 Everyone else seems to think Kang Jun bum (deceased brother, right?) is Tae min's father whereas my first…
According to the last episode, it was Granny who sent Tae Ho to the UsA, not his parents. So, assuming all of this (that is, Tae Min and Tae Ho have the same bio father), then my guess is that Granny feared that the bio father and/or Grandfather would set up the two boys to compete against each other. OR (and there are many conversations where TH feels like Tae Min was the "favored" cousin) she saw that Kang Jun Bum was ignoring Tae Ho in favor of Tae Min.
It is due to the cancelations last October during the Asia Games where one episode at most aired per week. Hence…
Since you frequently watch the raw broadcast, did you see the KBS notice regarding time change? It will air at 7:55 pm KST for the remaining episodes. I submitted the changes to MDL.

Yesterday, I went back and re-watched the scene at the art gallery - and it was truly a nice scene between the two men - one of the few times the director-nim allowed Tae Min to smile.
TM: If I hadn't been born into Taesan Group, I might have become an artist like your mother. TH: That's why Mom liked you a lot. She almost made me jealous. TM: I'll always be thankful for that. . . . I apologize for not treating you better when you returned. Let's try to get along.
So, yes - it's clear that TH's' mother was nice, perhaps even affectionate, towards TM. And perhaps was meant to be a major clue. But a revelation now that she was his birth-mother? Standing by for 35+ years while Dragon Mom raised him? That seems too much - even for a kdrama.
I also hope we get a good believable explanation, especially if it was his own bio father that abused him. Perhaps that's why granny sent Tae Ho away (5th grade) - she didn't want him abused as well - nothing else makes sense.

Well, you miss my point - there's no reason to believe that Seo Min Jeong was around in 1983. If Seo Min Jeong was the unwed mother (and apparently she was acceptable to the family), the logical thing to do would be a shot gun wedding.
The date for when the Art Gallery was established is very big and obvious. It's after TM's birth and before TH's birth. There is a reason why that date is there - it wasn't pulled out of thin air and one way or another it is part of the timeline.
I don't think Seo Min Jeong is TM's bio mother - but of course could be wrong😊😊.
In the last few months, he has been involved in the daily soap opera "Elegant Empire", but the last episode was a couple of weeks ago. Not sure when he will appear or how his character will impact the story(ies) of the Lee Family. If I was the writer (but I am not) I would have him return and discover that each member of the family has learned to "live their own life" independently and without him. It will be interesting to see how that particular plot resolves itself.
Ok, I haven't been here in the comments for a while now, I usually watch the episodes late at night and go to…
I think there are many more reveals to come and if I was a gambler, I would bet that they are half brothers. But who is his mom and who is his father? That's still to come.
And why did Grandmother sent Tae Ho off to the United States? Why was she overly protective of Tae Ho? Maybe we will get more info when their little chat continues next week.
The actor that portrays Tae Min was born in 1981, but Tae Min (the character) is 40 years old. (planning his "40th" birthday party; making him vice-chairman when he is "40").
Re: Tae Ho's age, from Ep. 3: "TH's father became vice-chair when he was only a few years older than TH's age. He saw his father become vice-chair in his late '30s." TH appears to be 36-37.
I think the grandmother told TM that TH was his younger brother… I’m 99% sure…
I was reading the Kocowa subs - and KBS is a part owner of Kocowa. They usually translate in a way that "sounds" best to the USA viewer. For instance, someone in the US is more likely to say "He's your little brother" than "He's your younger brother." Well, at least that's my take on it. 😊
Ko Joo Won posted photos on Instagram showing a visit to TM Aunt's art museum/gallery – gazing at artwork that originally came from actor Lee Kwang Gi’s(Yeom) art gallery. For those who aren’t aware, Lee Kwang Gi’s main profession is “art gallery owner” – Gallery KKI. Acting seems to be a side gig.😊
Anyway, Kwang-gi commented: “Oh what a pic ... Vice President” Joo-won responded: “Thank you, senior~^^ The place was a big help!! 🤟” (Vulcan hand signal – I had to look it up). Hmmmm. . . .now how did that visit help TM???
Not to be outdone, Im Ju Eun (Su-kyung) commented: “It's a very desirable update lol Head of HQ Kang Tae-min”. Joo-won: “Please come back” and she responded: “Oh my. Can’t help it if you talk like that. . .(. . 😉) [wink]". I know she will return, but suspect it will be a gun or knife or some attack on Hyo Shim, boring, stupid, boring. 🤣
I was very disappointed with TM when he met grandma and had a conversation with her. His blind faith that he should…
Haha, I've been gone all day and altho I was able to rush through the raw version early this morning, I was only able to watch the first few minutes w/subtitles of TM and Granny before I needed to leave. So, i'm not sure what was said or done later on in the episode but the main point I got out of their conversation is confirmation that Grandmother trusts Tae Min - not Tae Ho - to protect Taesan Group. 🥰🥰🥰
Sub or no sub, your summary matches my understanding of what was happening with the other couples - which I suppose is a good indication that the director is doing a good job of bringing out the characters and their stories - words weren't required.
I'm surprised how much I like it - so far, of course. I seem to walk away around episode 10 or so of so many recent dramas.

1983: Tae Min born (he supposedly turned 40 last year)
1985: The Art Gallery was established (Ep. 32, Mark 46) and Seo Min Jeong (TH's mom) was the first Director.
Lol, I know what I am thinking if Kang Jun Bum wasn't married in 1983. 😉

Episode 38 (prior cliffhanger: Tae Min and Grandmother meet face-to-face on the roof) Ratings hit a record 20.6 (highest for a Saturday episode)
Episode 39 (prior cliffhanger: Grandmama and Kang Jin Bum meet-up) Ratings hit another record of 22.1 (prior high was 21.4)
I'm thinking the Kang family trauma starts to sort out within a few (5-6) episodes and then - BAM, Papa Lee shows up.
And why did Grandmother sent Tae Ho off to the United States? Why was she overly protective of Tae Ho? Maybe we will get more info when their little chat continues next week.

Thanks for the clarification.
The post from 2 days ago was the "smexy suits" one. 😉
