My impression: 1st half (up until ep. 25 or so), overall family and specific character stories were moving - but…
Actually, the two characters I mentioned are lower tier characters, the change in their story arc is recent, but I won't spoil it.

As for the 2 moms (fondly called Dragon Mom (TM) and Gremlin Mom (HS), there would be no drama if not for their antics so I'm good with them and FF through HS' mom a lot.

Yes, my prior weekender was TRHC. I swore I would never watch another one and then. . .saw that Ha Jun was one of the main roles in LYOL, so gave it a try. I'm not a fan of his character, but he's a great actor.

There is a countdown timer in the info section above. You can see the date and of the release and how much time…
The counter is for the time it airs on tvN in Korea. Usually, international release (streaming/OTT) is a few hours later. But thanks for reminding me about the counter - I'll assume release on Prime is 1-2 hours later.

Also "Her Private Life", "Love in Contract" and something-weather-something lol.
Dropped "weather" after the first 2 episodesπŸ˜„πŸ˜„. But as others noted, "Healer" is also a fave although not well known to new kdrama viewers.

It's been awhile since I watched a current drama on Prime. Does anyone know what time (KST - Korean Standard Time) it is released on Prime? Thanks in advance.

I have been behind on this show and am slowly catching upwatching ep 21 so wanted to know how the show has been…
My impression: 1st half (up until ep. 25 or so), overall family and specific character stories were moving - but slowly. As of Ep. 25, stories began to coalesce - and then sprang forward into new and interesting connections and plot twists. And as of Ep. 35 (Sunday), the plot twists and pivotal events continue for many of the characters and story arcs.

This is only my 2nd weekender, but the prior one went in circles - over and over again, the same conversations, the same angst, very few meaningful (as opposed to unnecessary) plot twists.

This one is definitely NOT circular, continually provides "new" history/background to move all the various stories forward.

Don't know if that helps. I'm very unhappy with a couple of the character actions, but other characters and events are fun and intriguing. Probably a sign of a well-written weekender.

I came here to see if others were as grossed out by the reasons HS said she liked TH. There are SO many better…
From the beginning, Hyo Shim has had major daddy issues stemming from his abandonment of the entire family. The brothers tried to be the father figure to each other, but she had to play both roles for her mother, as well as the bread-winner.

Nam Kyung Eup (the actor who will portray her father) just completed his current project (the daily "Elegant Empire"). I don't know how far in advance the daily dramas film their episodes, but LYOL is about 2 weeks ahead.

I'm glad writer isn't writing a Cinderella-saved-by-the-prince (white knight, whatever) story.

Well, perhaps I am pre-disposed to think this way and perhaps "plead" is a better word, but the written preview is interesting. However, the written preview doesn't begin to match the teaser video, so who knows.

And why should she be pissed at TM??? Does she think that TM did something wrong? Does she think that TM should automatically come to the rescue of his cousin who has declared war? Pfffftttt.

Meanwhile, I'm thrilled that Tae Hee finally connects with her big brother. :-)

not yet on dramahood tho, but i guess in a good hour it will be too :)
Ahhh. . . I learned something new. I thought Kocowa was only available in the Americas? Or, perhaps it's just Kocowa+??

I did a free trial of Kocowa last summer - primarily because it has many old dramas from the pre-streaming days. Then discovered it also has current dramas from the three broadcast stations. So, I've kept the subscription - trying to decide if I keep Viki as well. πŸ₯°

In order to watch Kocowa, you would still need to subscribe with a payment method. Viki is usually 12 hours later than Kocowa.

English subs are up on Kocowa website and app as of now.
They were late today - but that meant I could re-watch the critical scenes twice w/out subs.

I knew they were going to send TH to jail and it looks like we're getting to that part now. Really hoping he doesn't…
I've always figured that Hyo Shim would beg TM to help and Tae Min would once again ride to her rescue (in this case, TH). But haven't watched today w/subs, so might be wrong.

Review My Demon
I stopped watching along about Episode 6 - mainly because of holiday weekends but realized recently that I never returned. Saw that it was still on my "currently watching" list and decided to check out comments/reviews before taking another look.

Thank you for your articulate analysis because it helps me understand why I never returned - the repetitive and/or slow motion scenes and two beautiful people do not create a unique story. There was simply nothing unique about this romance.

Are you still missing subs? Yes, they slept together and she told him it was no big deal - rather a rotten thing to say when she was the one who pounced. He was hurt. I understand that on a weekender, sex is off-screen. But also, my take is that there is no point in writing a story where a couple HAS off-screen sex unless there are going to be future consequences.
