Fictional dynasty. The costume is a mix of Tang and Song Dynasties. Don't take it seriously 😂 Most chinese…
Thanks! That's disappointing, though I get their point of view. I have seen some that are set in certain years and find it interesting to compare how culture etc. changes.
Hmm... Living true to it's name. For once, it's indeed the 'legend of shen li' and not 'legend of last god' 😂.…
I'm so glad this was less than 40 episodes. I felt like it was on point almost all the time, there were not so many unnecessary side plots as there are in many other xianxias/wuxias. Now it was a pleasure to watch without skipping!
This gets good reviews but I'm still on the fence whether to start watching or not. I am bored of all those historical…
Thank you all who answered! I just came back to tell you that I watched this and do not regret it :) There were only a couple of not so interesting side plots/missions and mostly it was just the main plot continuing with a good pace. The FL was awesome and the main couple's relationship good, though not my favorite. There were many funny moments too. It was very nice to see a good xianxia drama after a while!
This gets good reviews but I'm still on the fence whether to start watching or not. I am bored of all those historical dramas where the leads complete some random mission after mission and grow closer during them. I prefer a bigger plot and complicate relationships (doesn't have to be romantic relationships, family relationships etc. are also interesting). I like romance where there is tension and strong emotions, highs and lows. Humor is of course a plus though not necessary. When I read the comments people are praising the visuals and other stuff I don't care so much about. I have just dropped too many xianxias or wuxias lately, but then some of my favorite dramas are also xianxias so I always hope to find a new favorite.
Any other good mini dramas that are watchable in one evening?
Yes! - Night of Love With You - Secretary Bai Wants to Resign Everyday - The Deliberations of Love - Maid's Revenge - A Tale of Love and Loyalty - Better a Lie Than a Truth - Destined to Meet You
I did not like A Love So Beautiful at all (only that last few eps were okay) and not so much Put Your Head on My Shoulder. Is there any point trying to watch this? Is there anyone who liked this but not the other two?
Because they want to show us that the ML chooses the FL because he loves her, not because she's the most beautiful.
Yes I understand what you're saying, or at least I think so, and I also have noticed this is very common in c- and k-dramas. Perhaps I made my point too shortly, but my assumption is that this kind of FL vs SFL setting is to sell what drama makers assume (who knows if they are right or wrong) is a "female fantasy". That many viewers feel they are very average looking, clumsy etc. - always lacking when comparing themselves to other people. And so when they watch a drama they would feel connected to this kind of FL and imagine that they also could get the perfect guy to love them just as they are. And in this fantasy it's important that the SFL is super pretty and capable, so that it's clear that the ML has what seems to be the better choice, but he still chooses the average FL. This being said, I myself have always enjoyed watching beautiful and capable FL's who don't give me second-hand embarrassment :D
The mother in law is absolutely horrible! Instead of pleasing her like a queen, both the ML and the FL should…
This was so stupid and unnecessary, especially since in the novel it was the opposite: the mother was actually trying to get them back together but the ML resented FL for the break-up etc.
I almost didn’t recognize Leo Wu here 😱https://youtu.be/XzsAQ1lyS9Y
This is the first drama I saw Leo Wu in, it was a bit difficult to accept him as an adult romantic lead after remembering him as an underage teenager :D
I was eager to watch this, but after reading these comments I realized what I actually miss is Lin Yi's character in Love Scenery, so decided to re-watch that instead :)
So the emperor was a prince and needed that Lu guy to back him up to become an emperor - or later it seems like…
Thank you! I think the thing that I missed was that the prince/ML would not be considered a possible successor if he was not married. Wow, the sister was really a scumbag.
