On The Killer Next Door Aug 18, 2025
Cute story but it wasn't what I expected with a title like "The Killer Next Door". I expected it would be more similar to "Killer Crush" - a BL webtoon about a hitman & movie star love story (very funny btw, I highly recommend it!) - but Nam Yun Je being a hitman/serial killer is mostly irrelevant for most of the plot but even more to his character.

Tbh, he isn't anything we would expect from a serial killer. Even when they are represent as the boy next door, they have some sort of duality. But here, he really just a sweet guy. Even more, nobody flinch when they talk about it like it's the most mundane thing in the world. :P

That being said, it's still a cute story but don't expect much from the killer part. The format didn't bother me as I'm already familiar with it. Overall 7.5/10

I read many comments about that scene, but for me it was real, many viewers pointed out that it wasn't professional…
The hug felt more out of place than the search tbh. But it's a romance drama more than a realistic & faithful representation of war & soldiers so I don't know why it bother peoples. I mean if they really take that stance, MANY thing is wrong in this drama and they shouldn't bother watching it in the first place. :o

Chu Zhao in battles with his flute is so me when something is happening at my house, useless.
Ngl, I laugh so hard when I saw this scene. :P

I guess they wanted a epic vibe but it feel a bit flat just him alone on his wall.

But then the leads taking time to hug in a war zone was even more ridiculous so I didn't care anymore. Still I loved this episode but sometime they really make odd choice.

Title Fall in You
My guy, this literally happens in real life. I have personally encountered it. Haven't you heard about nepotism…
Agree with you. Sure nepotism is real but they don't throw their heir at the very top right away. Shareholders will never allow that especially if it's a woman. Sexism is even more real. :P

99% series have longer last ep with details and lots of things. This series is full package in bl world. There…
From what I understood, those final scene were filmed first and early Kiss & NC scenes were filmed later. Probably why they seems more awkward.

As for the top/bottom thing: Strict top (or bottom) exist. I agree it's common for gay men
to be somewhat verse (they still have their preference) but more importantly, it's a BL. In a vast majority of them, authors don't like verse couple as they love the top/bottom dynamic as it's more close to the heteronormativity.

To begin with the whole "straight guy becoming gay for you" fantasy isn't real. WSW was either bi or gay in deny. But again, it's the author choice, don't blame lifeless characters. :P

Based on the first few episode, I think he will fell first (he kind of already did) BUT with all the foreshadowing…
Yes I always mix them up (Wuxia & Xianxia) so I checked before on this page but the genre is tagged as Wuxia. Probably a mistake (or the genre Xianxia doesn't exist here so they use Wuxia by default).

Anyway it was just a guess as it's a very common troop in Xianxia. That being said, a spoiler warning would have been appreciated. ^^"

I mean, it's a given that leads in Wuxia drama need to suffer unimaginable torture, split blood every 2-3 episode…
I mean cultivation & immortal story, I always got them wrong so I checked this page and the genre is tagged as Wuxia. But yeah, it's a Xianxia. As for FL being tortured and spit blood in Xianxia we have many! Like the "recent" Feud - Lament of the River Immortal. Tbh, in this one, both are tortured and have spit enough blood to fill a Blood bank. :P

This is xianxia,not wuxia
Yeah I always got them wrong so I checked before on this page and it's tagged as Wuxia. What I mean was cultivation & "immortal" story. :)

Does this have he fell first and he fell harder, or she fell first, and he fell harder trope?
Based on the first few episode, I think he will fell first (he kind of already did) BUT with all the foreshadowing that the FL value her life more then anything it's a fair guess to think she will sacrifice somehow her life for him (but he will also probably do the same). So for who fell harder, in Wuxia Drama it's hard to tell as they are literally willing to die for each other. :P

I can't even imagine what the little boy have been through, they all deserve a painful and slowly death
I mean, it's a given that leads in Wuxia drama need to suffer unimaginable torture, split blood every 2-3 episode and nearly (or literally) die for their respective ML or FL. It's in their job description. :P

Its a bit disheartening to see the discord in the comment section. Although i love the second couple a little…
Well, HY will save his father apparently. But yeah, he is a sociopath. :P

Good thing for him it's a drama, they will have a happy ending and not being murdered like it would happen IRL. :D

Con someone confirm it? I heard the main couple had been officially declared a fixed pair, which is a first in…
Nah, it was fanmade. And personally I hope for them this will never happen. Thai pairing is really toxic for the actor themselves.

A lot of Chu Zhao hate here. :D

While I'm not particularly fan of love triangle, Drama enjoyer shouldn't be surprised to see a SML (or SFL) ruining the party. So why the extra hate here ?

Genuine question as so far, he didn't strike to me as the usual jerk SML created to be hated and more like a greyish character with a secret purpose. Or is it just because he is the way of ML & FL relationship ? Because if I'm being honest here, he is really needed as ML isn't that proactive to begin with. He only does when SML push him. :P

he deserves better 😤 she isn't sry about anything or trying to fix their relation.. And goes to all this without…
I mean, he wasn't that proactive in mending the relationship either. Tbh, both are at fault here. More than that, it's a writing problem I see here. Author wanted to create a misunderstanding and made it artificially even if it break their characters.

The fact she didn't say she didn't do it doesn't make sense at this point and the fact ML believed it without second thought at first make him look quite dumb (he is supposed to be very smart).

He was suspicious of the "new He Rufei" and respected the old one. So it's obvious that the culprit is the new one. But again, author wanted a misunderstanding at this point of the story and even if it was odd, they did it anyway. Not the end of the world, but yeah a bit lazy if you ask me. :P

I guess military commanders now listen to random strangers in the middle of battle after they get caught intruding…
Chu Zhao was here with probably a token to identify him as the Minister of War so he wasn't just a nobody + the fact they used the "secret tunnel" only people in the confidence sound know. And lastly, the guy is in a desperate situation and the idea seems good enough to him. :P

I know it's not over yet but what's the endgame here? Is it grandpa and Hai Yuan or the grand son? Cause if we're…
Grampa is the endgame so you can watch it without worry on this side. As for the age gap it's probably because we directly saw him in his old body but a vampire is "forever young".

It make easier to accept the age gap when someone isn't/wasn't visually old. Personally, I also did find the setting of having the grampa living in his grandson body... odd at first. Honestly I would have been more comfortable if he was a brother/cousin/friend especially when I didn't see the point of adding this extra layer of weirdness into the plot.

It doesn't bother much now as the plot have a purpose for this (Grampa past & Haiyuan past lives) and Martin Wong isn't that great of a actor to make believe he play a grampa soul to begin with. :P

Don't know. They doesn't always censure rebirth Drama but if they do, I just ignore whatever BS they pull at the end to avoid it.

Genuine question for those who did NOT read the novel - are you still enjoying the drama? Is the story coherent…
So far, I'm really enjoying this. But even without having reading the novel, I do sense that sometime thing are missing.

Like the fact ML didn't suspect FL identity at all in the beginning (I learned that it make more sense in the novel because she is in another body) or in the more recent event, FL not explaining that she didn't hold the reinforcement.

Like it's completely obvious that it was her step brother who did that (they made it like she was only suspicious) and then doesn't make it clear to the ML she didn't just to created this artificial misunderstanding. Again, probably a change they made clumsily I think.

BUT like I said, overall, it's still very good. :D
