I really wanna confess thisI really dislike P'Fei 🙂 I really do :(I can't just bring to like her
I love the actor, but she’s playing a character that’s about as deep as a puddle. The secondary characters are all paper-thin. Even the leads are barely rendered in the writing. The actors are doing the heavy lifting, especially the antagonist’s mystic.

He knew in episode two when he took him to eat at the end of the day. All that “remembering the dishes they always ate together as kids” put that to bed.

Absurd in the way most vertical dramas are, but a bit more entertaining than most. The GAI remake (My Ex Became My Stepmother) is also available on iQIYI, but I’ve only had a look-in, so I can’t compare storylines.

I got snuck up on by Suea’s trauma response in the promo for episode 18. Is it just that bit when he comes back to Nao, or is the episode showing more emotional damage? I basically need to know if I should skip that episode or just part of it. I have have a complex and debilitating case of PTSD, so any help is welcome.

This is good. Dramas tackling real world social issues often aren’t entertaining and humorous, but here they’ve managed to address some really dark subject matter in a way that is both, but without in any way diminishing the the tragedy and horror of what’s going on. The bullying side is devastating, the organised crime stuff pretty depressing, and, as I’m only two episodes in, I will no doubt get smashed in the feels a lot more, but it’s balanced with the crazy, action movie style violence, which is weirdly unreal. It’s so distinctly Korean to do beautifully shot and performed over the top violence, interleaved with humour and bad-arsery. It’s implausible and almost comic bookish in the extremes gone to, but very relevant to Korea right now. This show will trigger those who’ve been in abusive relationships, such as with a violent partner or school bully, but it’s a solid social commentary, a violent action series, and comedic AF by turns.

Anyone who tortures goldfish deserves to cry. I’m not sure I’m going to watch the last few episodes, given that I want to kick the lead couple in the shins, hard, and over an extended period.

They’re spreading it too thin. We’re half way, and I can’t see how they’re going to resolve all the stories in the remainder. It’s either going to be rushed, or lots of loose threads are going to remain untied. Also, the central pair aren’t getting enough screen-time together.

I was looking for a way to explain this series. You did it perfectly. I do mean perfectly. Describing the story…
Well, it’s entertaining. Giggles are to be expected. Probably blushes too!

Title Dual Stars
a very good low budget drama. Can someone explain why Chinese or Taiwanese actors are such better than Thai ones
It’s nothing to do with nationality. China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and so forth all have good and bad actors, actors who can’t play queer convincingly, and often those made for Mandarin markets are dubbed, so you’re frequently not even hearing the actor’s voice at all. Making sweeping statements about one country or the other having better actors is either naive or disingenuous.

I’m actually really enjoying the way they interact with and treat one another. I’ve only had one relationship with that kind of vibe, and I’d like more. I like that when one says he wants to be considered a delicate little flower the other plays up to that. I like that they are so openly into one another, without any inauthentic bollocksing around or fakery with grandiose promises. I like that they can talk turkey and immediately pivot into flirting, without losing sincerity. I wish these characters were real people in my life. They’re relatable, and charming.
