One of my traits is hating surprises, so I’m fine with spoilers in dramas that aren’t about solving mysteries. Emotional stakes I will often seek out spoilers for, so I don’t lose my s#%t from suspense. It stems from my autism. If you would like, I can let you know when to pick it back up, so you don’t have to risk spoilers messing with your enjoyment. If you’d like me to do that add me as a friend on here 🙃

Yes, I’m thoroughly invested in the main couple. I’m a bit infatuated with Cheng. He’s way sweeter than I thought he’d be.

I’m not talking about any particular scene. I just think he lacks consideration. His best friend and loved one is just coming to grips with his own sexuality. Taking it slowly and checking what he needs should be his first priority, but instead of offering that care, he had to have it demanded of him. He’s a bit selfish, but no biggie. I feel like you’ve maybe blown my comments up to be much more negative than I intended.

I’ve opted to hold off watching episode 18 until the reunion, so I can binge from whoa to go, and not have to wait for the happies. I’m too emotional to deal with that kind of suspense.

This is badly directed. If one actor overacts it might be the actor, but when all but a couple of characters are hamming furiously you know the director is a fool 😆

I like the fantastic story, given this problem. It’s sufficiently over-the-top to make the scenery chewing tolerable, because there’s a comic book vibe to it.

The rating is a good general indicator, though sometimes it’s about problematic characterisation or disturbing plot, rather than quality of production and acting. Reading the comments is how I decide in the end, but I completely bypass dramas with less than 7. It’s like the first pass filter. So far this drama has no really bad points, though it’s not outstandingly good either. I read the comments to decide I wanted to start watching it, but if the score had been lower I wouldn’t even have bothered doing that.

I’m thinking Knight has liked Mild since they were kids, but didn’t say anything because of his age. He possibly told Mud though. That would make their tension more understandable to me.

Me too. The chopping and changing is unsettling, once you’re invested in one situation.

Aside from the Per character being annoying as hell I’m liking this, but the acting isn’t amazing. Mild has the excuse of inexperience, but for someone playing first lead in his debut he’s incredibly composed. He might end up being really good. Knight is the most appealing character for me. Very straight forward and sincere.

Not really. She’s been giving Per the stink-eye every time she’s seen him with Kan. I’d like to see her hook up with Great though. She’s a poppet.

I concur on all points. Knight is definitely my favourite character. Per’s too handsy and too much of a tease. His sincere, sweet moments don’t change that for me.

I’m not talking about force. I’m talking about consent. Failing to get consent isn’t always about brutality. Sometimes it’s about boundaries, respect, and consideration with regard to what is okay or not.

Tuo needed a lesson about consent. I’m glad he got the brakes put on him.

I have an audio processing problem, so it makes it impossible to hear voices properly. I’m not a Mandarin speaker, so I use subtitles anyway, but with some scenes hearing the speech is important, even so.

Believe whatever you want. If it’s ambiguous then it’s considered unimportant, so odds are the least controversial explanation is correct, but if you want to clutch your pearls just believe the worst and go to it. It’s not like they’ll be having kids together…

Martin’s acting is abysmal. He makes my teeth itch. I’m giving up on this series. It’s a shame, because Fan is delightful as Haiyuan. I just hope he gets a decent co-star next time.
