b. is in interesting theory ! do you think there's a link with ml father ? because he obviously look deranged…
my understanding is the same as what @deemunu says in the Recent Discussions "why didn't ML ...." post:
"...he explained this on Ep 7. He can't travel at a specific time and date, only years. After returning from 2037, he went to 2022 (March) and said he was already dead 2 mos earlier so he was probably murdered in January. He said he would have to wait for another 10 mos to be able to go back again on that specific day. He did his research and found out he was not the only victim and thus he decided to go back to 1987 when the murders all started, with the hope of saving all the victims' lives and stopping the culprit.
Also, we're not entirely sure IF he is really DEAD since there was no body found?? On ep 2 there was a scene with the chairman - his grandpa, on 2024 and asking him to find his grandson, who is still missing.
The scene where he was beside his body, I guess, was only depicted from the description on the newspaper/tv news. And him saying it's cold bc maybe it was his own body so he kinda feels the same or maybeee a clue where his body really is??? "

Maybe 2nd YW is from slightly ahead in the future in the original timeline- he's never met Hae Joon but he himself has invented the car . Chung Ha has gone so he uses the car to go back and sort this ?.
But serial killings etc aside, this show is actually quite sweet -I wouldn't be surprised if the Chung Ah that visits the house (maybe she is even a second CA and 1st one is still on the bus) and 2ndYW are working together to steal the car in order to protect HJ in some way , maybe they come from when the killer actually came after the news report and killed HJ. They're both smart cookies, they've worked out what the car is and that HJ is their son , or grieving Baek Yoon Young told them and begged for their help, and they have gone back to save him.

Agreed He looks a bit deranged . Has he seen Chung Ah holding Hae Joon's hand and this is jealous rage? does he not recognise HJ (maybe he comes from a time /timeline where they've never met ?)?
And like others say- where are his glasses?. Older YW even has the exact same pair in the 2020 clip talking about cinema date with HJ 's mum. Could it be as simple as the glasses flew off with the force of sudden braking and he just couldn't see HJ properly?
Hae Joon is in the garage looking at the lack of car when he seemingly reacts to Baek Dong Sik shouting "Yoon Yeon woo!" who we see run off with glasses on. So it looks like glasses Yeon Woo has had no time to get to car and drive off .
And the watch (and for that matter foetus Hae joon and adult Hae joon) shows us the same thing of different times can exists in the same moment. Could we really have 2 YW here? Glasses runs off but non glasses has the car?
But often the ending of kdrama episodes are edited with unreliable chronology to make a cliff hanger but in the next episode we see the missing sequences so i'm not sure.
Also Chung Ah acts a bit odd- even when preparing to leave town she doesn't seem like someone scared by being the baby mama of a psycho killer. When going to see HJ at the end she is staring at the garage when he sees her and takes a while to focus on him then tries to get him to leave, tells him all the shocking stuff but then doesn't follow him into the garage to see why he runs there in a hurry even though that leaves her alone and vulnerable by the gate when a killer might be coming. It's like she knows what is there and she is buying time for someone to take it. I think her doubts , fears and anger at the father are real but the rope used is obviously too thick to knit a baby hat with , I don't think she thinks he is a killer.
With theory B, it could be that the reason he stopped killing in the original timeline was that a guilt ridden Baek Dong Sik took him away from injured and damaged Baek HS and YS , since they were no longer able to care for him ,when he mysteriously left town for 30 years. Yoon Young tells him she never met him by saying "i never knew my father had any older relatives until I came here" which could include eldest bro. Maybe Baek YS reacting significantly to the news report could be because he recognises his brother in the background of one of the shots, like HJ says the culprit will be watching the report being filmed/ town reacts etc He might even be BYS twin brother since their aunt talked about BYS being at the university and working in a factory and visiting BHS every weekend (and somehow also having time to protest and date victim 1)
I don't think Yoon yeon woo is the killer because 1) if he had intended to go to Hae Joon's house to kill the witness, why try to stop the car rather than just run him over? And why get out of the car, why not just run him over again to be sure? 2) He said he likes smart people- would he not then approve of women who read? 3) He himself is very smart, there is no way he won't know that the man in possession of a time travelling car who has the name of his planned son and makes him feel oddly connected isn't his son, so he won't go kill him by mistake in 2022.
I do think both Yeon Woo and Chung Ah are Hae Joon's bio parents, they were clearly a couple at and after the cinema , where they talk about feeling oddly loving toward Hae Joon whilst they eat. Chung Ah has been mothering him since they met, trying to feed him, scolding him and assessing him.
I think that's why both of them, like Baek Yoon Young, rush to him as soon as they see the news (Yeon Woo could also have been commanded to do so by his dad with whom he was watching the TV).
Being smart, and not knowing whether the noise in the empty house was the culprit or a corrupt police ready to frame him as the culprit for being there when "being suspicious is a sin", of course Yeon Woo runs . Maybe he even overheard Chung Ah and he is hurt and realises she might not support him if he is caught there.
I do think Chung Ah had various doubts about Yeon Woo (pregnancy can be a very emotionally fragile time ) which is why she abandoned her baby, and , following the themes of healing and the truth reaching people eventually, I think this scenario is going to resolve their misunderstandings and repair the Yoon family like the Baek/Lee families have been improved .
So at this stage I have two main theories about the culprit.
A, I still think it could be one of the detectives, especially the one in the green grey jacket who trips in the water at the river crime scene. Remember the news reporter stumbling around as an act, and HJ and YY discuss how he actually became very successful? The people committing violent crimes so far have all been people in power and privilege (Go Min Su is rich and protected by his Dr mother) .
B What if Baek Heo Seop's eldest brother is still alive! In ep7, near the start (about 4.5 mins in) we see Baek Hae seop collect patterned clothes and shoes and take them to the hospital. We never see why. GMS takes clothes to her mum and sees him throw away the blue hat. the next day his elder brother is not wearing any of those clothes but plain bright white, and is heartily fighting the Miss korea Scammers, so is not the one in the hospital. When GmS is talking to him later about protecting his brother, I think she could be talking about eldest one in the hospital and she found this out off screen after picking up his hat and seeing off her Mum. That's why GMS is so confident he won't be caught because noone knows he exists apart from her and the Baek bros. Maybe that's why both the victims are linked by Baek Yoo Seob, his eldest brother might be injured/traumatised from the former shootings and killing those women in a bizarre parody of protection.
If Go Mi Sook saw the killer's face, why did she try to strike some kind of deal with Baek Hee Seop in the cafe, saying she could help him protect his brother as she had someone she wanted to throw away? It made it sound like she thought that Baek Yoo Seob was the actual killer. If she was referring to knowing about his student protestor identity instead, then what kind of deal or leverage could she have negotiated with BHS?
According to Kim Hae Gyeong , when GMS saw the killer's face she said he would never get caught. How can she be so sure- is he someone in power like the Principal or a police officer? That detective who seems to do no work whatsoever except yell at everyone but be yelled at for someone elses's ambitions? He was totally unphased in front of the corpse yet drew everyone's attention to the matchbox and demand it be opened- the matchbox that linked the killings so maybe wanting to show off his signature ?.
However how reliable is KHG as a witness- she likes GMS and seemingly would do anything for her, like when the test results came out and nearly drowning Lee Soon Ae . If the only secret she had was that GMS framed her brother, is that really worth her being killed for? would it not just be her word against GMS without any proof? So could she be lying and does she know something more juicy?
I even initially suspected her because of her cold attitude to nearly getting the glue sniffing kids killed (actually 2 were going to die in the original timeline, at least one was her friend who she didn't seem to care was running high near a cliff) and to nearly drowning LSA.
And the way she and GMS seemed excited when student teacher Lee Ju Yeong was found, at that point they had to delay framing the brother because of his hurt hand so why were they excited? Because they were they actual culprits or because they turned eg a suicide (she did seem very unstable when feeling like she was alone and being hunted) or a killing and body dump by the protester hunting squad into a serial murder using red yarn and matchbox?
GMS is very very observant, eg constantly watching the dynamic between HJ and YY even when bigger drama is happening . Could she have discovered the link with Lee Kyung Ae and reported her to the brute squad? Is that why she writes that she "made those deaths happen" (which is different to hands on murder)? Could the use of rope like prisoners are tied with and (red =communist?) indicate that they are body dumps, and GMS added the matchboxes? That is why LKA died later and in a different place this time- because HJ rescued the Baek Brothers and the squad had to lie low. And why the modern murders didn't involve rope even though they got matchboxes.
And who saved LSA from drowning in the original timeline without YY being there?
Given the similarities between how Yoo Bom Ryung's body was left after the unplanned killing whilst protecting LSA, and HJ's corpse in the future, are they trying to tell us that he died protecting someone? Who would he be protecting who is a woman who reads- Maybe YY? Does that mean that the killer can time travel (or else did they really keep all those matchboxes for 30 yrs despite being incriminating evidence just in case they had more murders to do?) or that YY and HH were somehow in the original timeline too and the killer recognised them in the future ? Why else kill HJ when he isn't a woman who reads?
The other thing I keep wondering is about GMS saying repeatedly that if you focus on one thing then you miss traps all the way. So what if focusing on the idea that this is a serial killer with only one culprit is missing the traps?
And isn't GMS's mother really scary ? GMS seems to be scared of her (like when cleaning up her brother's mess) and she allegedly ignored her daughter being abused by her son and covers up his attacks on others. That family produced those kids- where is the father? Could he be the bastard that will never get caught ?
Why didn't the killer kill for 30 yrs but then kills adult LSA? Yet now someone goes after young LSA which didn't happened originally? IS that because she challenged the novel theft this time round? So is that KHG getting vengeance for GMS - but won't that prove GMS brother's innocence? Or maybe GMS mother or father?
Voice of Shen Yan in My Sassy Princess, (especially as he whispers "behave" *fans self*), it seems to belong to voice actor Wai Wai http://www.729voice.com/ww
