This is NHK's 2025 Taiga Dorama. Sounds promising. With some interesting actors.

The Netflix subtitles for this show are trash, at least the German ones. For instance, they constantly translate the year Showa 61 as 1968 instead of 1986. And many translations for on-screen texts are missing. Fansubbers Wabi-Sabi Subs and earthcolors are doing a much, much better job than Netflix.

You know, I'm an old bloke and I have to be careful every now and then with all my little prejudices that have developed over time, for example towards young actors like Michieda Shunsuke. It's so easy to underestimate them, which is totally unfair, I know. In these moments, it's good for me to remember a line from Taylor Swift's song 'Cardigan': "When you are young, they assume you know nothing ."
And I don't want to be "they."
