Wasn't it her mother who had the FL beaten by the mad nanny and punished? I don't remember the spoiled brat doing that, but it is possible that I may have forgotten.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for her, but having her slapped just for opening her mouth every single time seems unsavoury. Her karma has already found her, anyway, she's going to be stuck in a loveless marriage with a husband who will thoroughly despise her for stealing his wedding to the woman he loved.
But, and this is a big but, she actually did the FL a favour by stealing her wedding, since she (the FL) then ended up marrying the man she loves and is now cutting the grass in the dilapidated Shen mansion because apparently they cannot afford a gardener, wtf?? 🤔

Yes, the editing is definitely a letdown. That rough stitching is frequently due to the number of episodes having been cut down, but I don't know whether this is the case here.

The editing must have been done by a 5 year old with a pair of scissors. It still is an enjoyable drama, but it should have been more than that. I also find Zhou Ye lacks expressivity and nuance, most of the time she's just there delivering her lines with the same face.
Continuity of what? Cannot they emphasise continuity by, let's say, reflecting it on the actual plot, set up, scene coherence and characters behaviour? What does a streak of blood on their chin do for continuity, other than reminding us that the character was hit/injured/ill 10 minutes ago? Do they have a problem with short term memory?
In this particular instance it would have made a lot more sense if she had wiped the blood from her chin with dignity rather than letting it stay on her face for so long as to become incongruous.

I was genuinely curious to find out what is it that many of us are missing out so much on, while you obviously get the meaning of all the micro expressions and allegedly cryptic language. Hence my asking you for examples. If you cannot provide any, we can of course consider that this exchanged has come to an end.

Why do cdrama characters keep reminiscing, attending ceremonies, exchanging niceties and generally getting on with their lives without wiping the blood from their mouths after coughing or, worse, vomiting it? We saw them get injured or become ill and cough/vomit blood, how long do drama directors think we need to get the point?🙄🙄🙄
