I actually wonder how she made it to her 18th birthday with that grandmother around. She's the relative from hell.
No kidding, she was just merchandise for the evil granny tp trade. Still, the good thing about it is that we will all be now looking forward to the granny getting killed.😂
I thought it was just ok after watching ep1, but it got rapidly better and ep 4 is very good. I'm now looking forward to the journey to the capital. It's a well made drama.
She is best for revenge type of stories i too feel chemistry is lacking may be becoz she is married n a mother…
This drama is also a revenge story, big time revenge. She was the same in The Double, her only other drama I've watched. If anything, becoming a mother should make her more sensitive, nuanced and in touch with her acting. She's virtually devoid of facial expression in my perception.
There are plenty of very well made revenge-cum-romance dramas. This isn't one of them and it's 50% down to the FL actress and the other 50% to the storyline spiralling downward.
The aphrodisiac scene made me cringe, the chemistry was below zero. She kept her dead pan expression, not even the liberally applied pink blush makeup could save that scene. I think this actress was seriously miscast with Chen Zhe Yuan.
I wish actor Wu Jiakai played the ML instead of being her brother. I find Ze Qiu's (his character) personality and attitude are also way cooler than Yu Bai, who would have been more suited to the brother's role. I feel both the actors and personalities for those two characters have been switched.
The ministers are getting too much they have more hate for the bureau of investigation than they do for the gang.…
Considering the right chancellor is the baron's brother as well as a lecher who salivates after his disciple and the left chancellor is corruption incarnate, it's no wonder they both prefer the criminal gangs to the rightful government officer. All the other ministers are just doing their bid.
Mu Qin Yi doesn't die according to the original script. https://mydramalist.com/779376-zhe-yi-miao/discussions/154260-ending-spoiler-from-the-original-scripts
I agree that the ending was frustrating but, IMO, the two choices of interpretation are HE or OE, not SE. Their failure was not making it crystal clear that he survived. Oh, well. I hope they learn from their mistake.
Exactly I had the exact same thought, they are such hypocrites! Why are they even getting punished? Just for trying…
Precisely. There is also that other, quite unsavoury trope of portraying the common people as rabble. Why are they attacking the only government official who tried to protect them and dismantle the Tiger Roar gang, which are the cause of their grief?
Yeah I stopped watching there was just too much going on 😭
They are just giving their opinion in a respectful manner. You, on the other hand, are using ad hominem instead of putting forward a valid counter argument. I for one agree that the actress lacks nuance and comes across to me as rendering a stiff performance. The idea that any younger actress 'pouting' would counterbalance this shortcoming shows an immature, not to mention disrespectful stance.
One Asian drama trope I can't stand is when the hero/heroine has to go into battle or face a formidable foe and their own people decide to beat them up beforehand, because that's such a great idea. In this instance all of them in the surveillance bureau are given 20 strokes before facing the Tiger Roar gang. Are these people retarded?
straight to the point its a SE ...no open ending people are dragging stuff to make it present as OE
I disagree. No need to drag anything, it is in the very words his dead brother says to him and what comes afterwards. It's a happy ending, but I can see why some people might interpret it as an OE because of the dreamy veil of the last scene. Sad ending, certainly not.
