Title A Chan
Yes, I read the novel a few months ago and I loved it. I don’t want to go into details about it, but read it…
Then all is well. Just need little motivation. A little romance in this kind of stories are the best

Title Love for You Spoiler
Can I ask what novel it was that changed your world view? aha
I think it was called “Brother”. Most traumatising thing i ever read. Its a BL. I mean its already forbidden love. I just jumped into it thinking well they would step siblings or something. But man they are very much related, not even cousins. And one of them was a lil mentally challenged. He cant survive by himself.

It’s traumatising to even think about it. I simply thought, not my life who am i to judge their life decisions. But still traumatic . Wish i could erase my memory of it. But seriously who even writes such stories, what goes through their head.

Ok honest talks
Is the step siblings thing weird? Yes. But i have been long here to be bothered by it. Atleast with the number chinese novels i have read and enjoyed. One in particular which just permanently changed my world views. But we are not here to talk abt that one. These days i choose based on the following:
Are they blood related , did they grow up seeing each other as siblings. If no, then i dont see a fcking problem.

One thing that could be problematic here is that she is dependent on Chen Yi. Financially and emotionally. It should bother you cause a 18 year old doesnt have to take care of the needs of 16 year old. That is a child himself .
And we are not living their life. So who are we to judge when they are doing their absolute best. Im even proud of these two for how well they grew up with their circumstances. Chen Yi especially.
His police academy dreams lost, his pooling business money lost, even without these he is wanted in places just for his talent. But he wont leave that city, his home, his friends and family.

Chen Yi appreciation post:
Chen yi the strongest pillar in not only Miao Jing's life but also to his friends. He's that reliable guy. If he takes on something you can relax because you know he will do it.
Chen yi takes multiple jobs, whatever job he gets and earns him good money. But he is never greedy for more. He always stays within the legal boundary.
But everytime he takes a major risk we see its not himself. When he went to that cruise, when he played pooling match and now when he gets close to Zhai for more money. To save her, to get her school fees, now for her city life expenses. I hate how much he takes on himself. But i hate it more that theres no other path for them.
He thinks its fine to be tainted as long as she can be in light. How can it be fine? Is there really no other path for them

teasers for ep 9 and 10 seem to be the ice breaker for what's soon to come - especially for ep 10. I'm too sucked…
these were the happy days. ep 6 to 8. They were financially struggling but also peaceful but because they somehow managed it without major problems. let me exist here for a while

Even when he acts like an adult , even though he is legally one . Just how much can he carry. The heaviness of the world. Some may see Miao Jing as a burden but i dont think she's the heavy burden he's carrying . She's his salvation . His hope, light and dreams of future. As long as she is fine, he will be.

Man, I can’t stop feeling weird about it. I mean, when they were kids, he was barely around and spent most of…
We are seeing right in front of our eyes. Like this is as normal as it can be in their situation. They are just trying their best with what they have. Chen Yi is just 2 years older than her. He is raising her, yes. But that boy is still a kid himself. And its not like he's grooming her in anyway.
At this point they are just family with lots of affection for one another . And girl seems to be attracted to him , she is still figuring it out . And she just thought of this recently after becoming 18 . She is grown up enough to have her own thoughts.
And him, he always cared about her, protected her. He likes her, its simply he likes her without any future plans. He will do everything to make her life better and thats all hes focusing on right now. And boy is not taking advantage of her.

The past few eps are so healing. Their home is their safe place. You know everything is good as long as they are in their home. Both their parents are gonna and they are struggling financially but these are the most peaceful days of their life.

But we know how this ends. These days will be gone soon. Im in the middle of ep 8 and i can feel it. Right after they started talking about the marriage i knew it . His days are numbered. I feel so bad for all of them. Why is the world so unfair to the good hard working people.

He is actually much more darker and flawed in the novel . I wish they had kept some of those aspects
If drama miao jing saw him the same way as novel her, i would be hating on her character. Im just saying there are differences.
Novel miao jing saw a different chen yi. And her reactions are valid. But to me it feels like betrayal cause i saw drama version of him. Who was nothing but perfect.

I cant go back and forth. So im choosing to stick with drama first. Let me just love my babies here.

And they made him sound like some street thug in the novel. While in the drama, he was this hard working boy who couldn’t escape his situations. Because of his father. Because of her mother. And despite all that he doesnt blame her and works hard for her future. So when she thought of him as some street thug who wasted his life. That shit hurt.

Was he like that in the novel, or was she misunderstanding him? Both are situations i dont like. Hence for me drama is currently it

Its just that i watched drama first and now its difficult to see a different him. Maybe if i had read the novel i would have missed that version of him.

Reading the novel is shattering the perfect image of my man Chen Yi. Hence im postponing till i complete the drama.
Its not that he’s bad, its just that i have built a perfect idealistic image of Chen Yi. Like too perfect its stupid. Its fine to do that with fictional characters tho😬

Novel spoilers(ch 1): Should i say novel is like a reality slap to me. Pointing out all that i ignored.
Yes chen Yi aint a saint waiting for that one girl. But who asked for the details. Unused condom? Girls hair on his bed? The first thing he said to her when they met: Didnt you say you would come over tonight to sleep? He thought it was Tu Li in his house.

Guess i needed some reality slaps

The problem with reading the novel and watching the drama at the same time is, its gonna mix up in my head. I wouldn’t remember which happened in which. I just started the first chapter of the novel and i dont like how they described chen Yi. Or atleast this is how Miao Jing sees him

“She never expected him to be anything. A street thug with only a vocation high school education. Extorting, brawling, stirring up trouble. If he could avoid prison and live as an ordinary person, that alone would be something “

Maybe this was because of misunderstandings? Like how they seperated. He pushed her away for her own good. And she doesn’t know that.

But drama Chen Yi. Whatever happened or happens, we all know how hard working that boy was. For a better life. When he couldn’t have that, he did it for her. It’s sad that novel Miao Jing doesn’t know that.

Idk where else to cry about my obsession with this story. So here i am

Somebody stop me!!!About to start on the novel and my issue is if i either read the story or watch the drama first…
Facing the same problems. I did this with hidden love . Read the novel as soon as i saw them making a drama about it. Novel was so good. Overall light hearted, thats why i could watch the drama. But im scared this is too heavy and i can only do it once. Drama or novel.

This drama is so oddly comforting to me. The fact despite everything going on in their lives, they just feel happy…
I know her. They are so family, no one can say otherwise.
