Also the whole Dojin buying a ring thing...was he planning to propose or something?! They ain't even dating and Song made it clear she is into the ML, so the ring thing was a bit too sudden. Like the girl likes the Jindo dog, what is Dojin expecting as a response from her to his feelings?! She clearly sees him as an older brother or something of the sort.

Surprisingly I don't mind the romance since I like the main characters, but I actually would prefer it if Song ends up with ML and Dojin just viewed her as a sister figure instead of the love triangle plot. I just hope the second season won't heavily focus on the love triangle bullshit, and they will focus more on the cases stuff like this season.

I agree with you honestly. Most of female characters seemed stronger than the male characters in first season and they all knew how to use both their physical and mental abilities to kick ass, but this season they are just...lacking to say the least. I guess they wanted to give the male characters the most attention? Especially Arisu by constantly making others rely on him, when he is most unreliable character in the whole show honestly. Chishiya is way better and far smarter than him seriously. Heck even the king of clubs (Was his name Kuma? or something like that?) would make a much more interesting MC than Arisu.

I also kinda hated Heiya's character, like why make her basically a rude teen slut?! She tries to sexually assault Arisu and then chases after Aguni who should be viewed as an uncle figure at best to her, and that scene in season one with Niragi licking Usagi...etc was just gross as hell, and now they decided to repeat it again just because?!

Who is the joker? and what is the reason? Can you spoil? I really want to know and I probably won't bother reading the manga lmao and I honestly don't care about being spoiled even if I do end up deciding to read it in future.

He does look a lot like Yoo Seung Ho indeed! I think that's the real reason he looked very familiar to me.

Sorry for late reply, I just got online and I wrote a whole essay I know lmao thanks for bothering to read some of it, and am glad my comment was helpful. Yeah I also can't handle childish FL characters, but to be fair some of the other characters were highly likeable, and there were some nice elements about the drama which is why I still gave it a high rating. The thing that bothered me the most was the FL though, and I wasn't a fan of the leads honestly. So if one day you're so bored and have nothing better to watch you can still check it out.

That's how Asia like, they are more on the conservative side. It's normal for them to not have sex or stuff of the sort until months later of dating even if they are adults and they also don't rush to go to each other houses even if they live alone (Not with their parents/family I mean), according to what I heard in a video talking about this exact topic before, it's because many of them date in hope to start a serious relationship that could lead to marriage in future and that's why they prefer to take their time to develop proper feelings before reaching the lust part.

Even when it comes to their sex education, it's more on the mild side compared to USA and Europe and the way females are viewed in Asia is a bit old minded (As in they mostly are not really viewed positively if they behave in a liberate non docile manner and be honest about their desires...same with guys kinda since they will worry about being viewed as perverts and creeps by women) so yeah, most Asian shows won't have heavy sexual scenes unless you search for the mature genre, and even their mature movies and shows that do include sex scenes and mature subjects aren't really that explicit compared to western ones honestly lol they don't talk openly about sex and the entertainment industry is heavily monitored by the public so the celebrities and shows could easily get cancelled for the stupidest reasons sometimes not gonna lie.

To you it might be weird but that's one of the greatest reasons I prefer Asian shows over western ones, I think mostly focusing on feelings rather than sexual content is much better and way more romantic. It doesn't matter if the main leads don't have a sex scene or even a kiss scene by the end of a drama, as long as they have chemistry and their moments together are great then it's good enough for me. Especially when western shows tend to rush the sex/one night stands in the beginning and then bother remembering that some feelings should exist as well.

Honestly when I read review I never bother with the high rating ones, I always check out the ones with lowest ratings because lots of times they help me truly realize if a drama will be enjoyable to me or not when the ones writing them mention the negative things about the plot and characters.

Like for example if they mention a very annoying love triangle, awful FL character, overly rushed ending, medicore acting...etc I most of the time just don't watch the drama lol

While the high rating reviews are mostly written by people who are a hardcore fans of the actors or whatever so their judgment gets clouded by their obsession.

And yes when I tell others that I have all rights to tell my opinion since this is why this website was created in first place they all just start grumbling lmao

Oh, that happened to me tons of times, I have even got cursed and called awful stuff (Some would even go as far as telling me to die, kill myself...etc over a stupid show) but I never stop lmao I don't care how popular and great others believe a show is, if I see flaws I will address them, I won't ask others to forcibly agree with me or change their taste to please me, but I also have the right to share my honest opinion and talk about what bothers me, even if it somehow makes me harsh or an enemy/hater figure to in their eyes. If others dislike shows that I like, I accept it too, cause that's their right.

Same will happen in Kpop fandoms, you dislike a certain song or don't become a stan of some group without hating on them or anything, just try to mind your own business and yet they will decide to crucify you online cause you don't allow them to control your mindset like a freaking cult.

Them acting that way over a show just shows how mentally ill they are being, cause no matter how much you like a show, song, band or whatever you should never go that far to defend it/them, you can argue and exchange opinions, or try to fix misunderstandings, but not insult someone personally and be utterly cruel and disrespectful.

Yeah many people will find that type of overly weird and different character cute and likeable, which is why the writers made her that way I assume, but to me they ruined it completely. Especially for a historical plot.

Such a woman will never be a proper ruler, and know how to behave and talk properly when needed, especially when there is chaos in the kingdom/palace, she can't even hold herself from going all out in front of others nor when she is pregnant to avoid something bad happening to her...she acts like a child/crazy teen fangirl all the time. I mean when the servants and low birth women behave more elegant and classy than the noble crown princess, that's a tragedy in the making there lmao

I had lots of question after watching episode 15, but am glad they answered all of them in episode 16 and made sure to give everyone, including support characters a proper ending.

Glad the queen dowager finally went to hell so that no one will have to deal with her bullshit anymore. All the hatred and crap she done all because she was too salty for not being able to attain the queen position...like seriously!

I'm also glad that the king turned out to be a decent man and did the right thing. His relationship with the queen was a great example of a prefect married couple. They one 100% respect, trust, and support each other. They deeply care about their kids and even after the king found out that prince Uiseong wasn't his child, he still didn't hate him for it, and he was understanding enough to let that prince who has a daughter marry his non-noble lover.
And the fact he is caring about his daughter that much, since I know during old eras in the world females were mostly viewed as a burden and everyone wished for sons instead, it was great to see him all happy over her birth.

the queen's character was one of the most well written and amazing female characters and character overall I ever came across in a drama. She was a marred middle aged woman, with many teen sons, not the typical teen/young adult FL character which was a great change. She is a perfect mother, wife, and ruler. Loved everything about her.

For the first time I watch a historical drama that didn't have any boring episodes/moment at all. All episodes kept you entertained and focused all the time till the end with the fast pace, and non messed up writing. The fact that they also made some representations like the whole transgender thing was also cool.

Also the fact that most princes decided to live outside the palace was great cause that way the will be able to live the way they want and desire instead of staying trapped till death in that pretty and decorated cage (Palace). Especially the trans princess (The prince who feels like a woman inside), she was finally able to be herself and travel the world. Her paintings were nice.

Also consort Hwang deserved what happened to her for being too greedy which lead to both her and her son misery. I guess she lost it, and I see some people even saying she went blind, but I'm not sure if she is really blind or not.

Only thing about the drama that bothered me and almost made me give it a less than 10 rating was the cringe ass romance between the crown prince and princess, the crown princess is the only character I wished didn't exist in the plot due to how much her personality and behavior pissed me off till the last minute in the show. I mean the queen dowager was a bitch, but her existence in the plot was important and she was a very powerful character/villain. Her being evil made sense for the plot, but the crown princess having that personality and behaving like a retard wasn't necessary at all. She is a noblewoman yet acted like a crazy villager with low blood, like seriously...both her sisters were normal, even the palace servants were more elegant and classy while she just act and talk in a disturbing way, runs around all day long on streets and in the palace like an untamed animal for no good reason (While she is pregnant as well to make it more annoying).

I get that they wanted her to be unique and different from other girls in that era or something of the sort...but that didn't work at all for me. A good unique character will be like the queen. Yeah she has times when she lose her temper and runs around to solve issues mostly related to her sons being brats which can be funny, but even during such moments she was still respectful, elegant, badass with great sense of humor.

Even prince Muan? (Is that the name of the grand prince who has a daughter?), his lover/wife who is non noble and even worked as a prostitute basically, was way more elegant, behaved, and acted noble like more than the crown princess like really?!
And the crown princess lying about them not having sex...was still odd to me even though she explained it. Yeah I hated her with passion lmao
To be fair they barley had screen time so I decided to ignore it and give the drama full rating.

Loved the bond between the grand princes, they all loved and cared for each other and no one of them was selfish. I guess the youngest grand prince is supposed to be the genius kid the family who everyone assume is crazy at first but later on ends up creating something outstanding, which finally makes others acknowledge his talent lol
