Up to episode 33...MJ finds out the deal about her dad. She decides NOT to tell her brother what is going on.…
Def surprised that XLY didn’t listen when MX said he didn’t do it and shishkabobed him. Then as you say MJ did nada, zilch, zip. To me wasn’t consistent with the determined characters we saw before. Especially XLY…

Title Love in Pavilion Spoiler
Has anyone saw how was ML/FL or their son was described in previous season1?? Anything specific or something like…
As told in FSMM1- the son has no relationship with the father, I assumed it was bc of the events that happened in FSMM3 and bc of FL's spirit race in FSMM3, or bc his mother was forced to become a concubine to birth him to make a weapon for the wangquan people, but wasnt sure and they didnt explain except to say the father treated him poorly.. The father became the main leader of his people and director/leader of the realm's alliance, which he seems to be bitter with the sacrifices that were put upon him from wangquan's elitism bc of these roles (loss of his love and loss of a relationship with his son). He is actually an important side character/ruler in FSMM1 and still continues to rule the alliance and fights for peace and what is right since his son lives somewhere under one of the alliance states (Nanchui?). Even though there is no relationship the father tries to bring peace so his son may live well, that is the only thing it seems he can do to show his love for his son. The father is dying bc of the earlier effects sustained trying to create/protect? a seal during the timeline of Love in Pavilion and hopes that his son comes to see him before he passes. The FL died right after childbirth as shown through a flashback in FSMM1, passing on her dongfang power on to their newborn son. But her ideals for the dongfangs and wangquans living equally together that she fought for, were finally realized in FSMM1 through the actions of her nephew (the ML of FSMM1) to unite the spirits and humans.

Is it a sequel?
I'm probably one of the few that watched FSMM1 😂, Love in Pavilion is actually more of a prequel with numerous connections to FSMM1. The older version of the ML is an important character/ruler in FSMM1, the nephew of Love in Pavilion's FL is the ML in FSMM1, the villain from FSMM1 is in Love in Pavilion so we will get more of his origin story in Love in Pavilion as well as why he did the things he did to the FL and her family. We see flashbacks of the FL and her sister in FSMM1 and details of the events that occurred in Love in Pavillion as well. We get mention of the FL/ML's son in FSMM1. And the events that occurred in Love in Pavilion is the main factor for what drives the older version of the ML from Love in Pavillion in FSMM1, as well as the ML (nephew) in FSMM1. But I would def watch this drama first since FSMM1 takes place timewise after Love in Pavilion. 👍

Didn’t the FL had a sad life according to the Fox Spirit Matchmaker?

For anyone who read the books, how is Dongfang Huai Zhu related to Dongfang Yue Chu? Just curious, in case anyone…
Yue Chu is Huai Zhu’s nephew via her sister (Qin Lan). They explain that relationship and ironically pretty much gave the entire plot and ending of Love in Pavilion in Red Moon pact. Was quite shocked they did that. 🤦‍♀️ LSS even did a special guest role in Red Moon Pact for the flashbacks…

Up to ep 30- This is still a very enjoyable watch for me. I’m a costume drama fan, so for me I’d rather watch this, than almost all of the modern dramas they’ve put out this year. 🤗

It was a beautiful story. A bit sad. The saddest part is that she is a human. I do see a ray of light at the end.…
I know she was put off by the mention of the icy environment. But I was actually surprised she didnt go with him as well, especially since she gave the speech in an earlier episode of following him no matter where he is. I think she even gave examples of terrain she would wade through...

They should have made the ex-fiancé next in line to inherit the dragon sword 🗡️.
Afterall ML did take him on as his only disciple and the adoptive dad did say he didn't have a successor yet... 🤣🤣🤣

It is not an Open Ending. It is a definite Sad ending.I am having a broken heart right now so it is hard for me…
Only ML and FL are given their memories back due to that 🦋we saw in the 🐍 demon arc. ML only grew up in the carefree land, the reset landed him back there as a child, but still retains his memories before the reset of his life with the adoptive father. The adoptive father is told by the ML in the reset world what happened because the adoptive father noticed the crack in the sword case that occurred after the ML touched it, so the father knew the ML was somehow important to him before the reset, but the adoptive father has no memories of that time.

Demons are always going to move from Carefree to Human world every 12 years or so. So maybe just that “pass”…
That was due to the 🦋 touching the shell, not due to the old man. And the 🦋 also gave ML as a child his memories of that life too. I think it was the kindness observed by the 🦋to the 🐍 demon by ML/FL that this was granted. BC we saw that the 🐍 explained he had been “protecting” the 🦋

Kinda complicated but the Uncle (and pretty much everyone else) died setting up a chain of events where the sword was used again as a “reset”, where the uncle was then still alive (and everyone else) 🤣 as a demon hunter but the ML’s human adoptive father was now alive to keep him in check. Brother lived and they had a close bond since they grew up together in the carefree world together bc of the reset.

100% agree its not an OE, it was a clear cut goodbye to the FL and closure with all the side characters. FL said in previous episodes that she would follow him no matter where he went. But her expression changed when he described the ice territory where the royal palace was in the carefree land. Knowing she couldnt go with him to the carefree land and live there. And with his responsibilities with the turmoil in the carefree land, he couldnt stay with her when she asked multiple times for him to do so. Also since the pass is now broken, he cant go back and fourth between the two realms anymore- if the writer really wanted us to believe a chance for a HE then the pass would have had to be functional, and the writer put a hard slam on this option. All signs indicate that they again wont be together. He also indicated that he wont be back to her city ever again, prior to her regaining her memory. He most likely has to stay to rule over the carefree land since his bio-father passed away so someone else will go and collect the moon bugs in the next 12 year cycle. They maybe might meet again in the next 12 year gate opening etc. but she will age faster than him so the chance of her realistically having adventures with him for a s2 are nil in my opinion... So sigh another bittersweet ending from my perspective

Yes the sword should be a sword that cuts off cause and effect. So somethings that happened in the past have been…
That’s what I was thinking only bc the mention of a celestial phenomenon which could be the nod to tie that pulling of the sword.
