He is himself, but he was abducted when he was young and his family found another boy to replace him. That other boy impersonated him for several years and was sent to live with 'his' grandmother. ML got to be himself again at time when the massacre happen ( on the way to capital). p.s. the boy who acted like ML is alive. There is a story what happened to ML in those years while he was missing...

Agree. We need more dark romance, specially when actors know how to act and have crazy chemistry. Because of characters like Qi Min and Yu Qian Qian, and Sui junior of course, this show has potential.
It was not bad but with 9.2 it is highly overrated. ZHL is talented based on the Story of Kunning Palace, so far…
I know what you mean..ML was great, and if his character was the same as in the novel, that would be impeccable but... They changed his character to mild,more gentle and even more romantic...and with that his character lost the dominance and prowess. From the middle of the show, their concept changed and they pushed too much childish, immature, comedy/parody content giving the rest of the drama feeling of badly written and leak of solemnity. As for FL, her character was changed as well, to worse,and with those changes she isn't suitable for being a general.She has nice fighting scenes, but the aura of being a general is missing. Scenarist degraded her character to be totally illiterate, without minimal consideration and utterly unrefined . Her communication on the court was laughably written. The series started great but went downhill.... After everything, it's really overrated, over-hyped and overpraised.
