I'm learning parental skills from this show... skill of what not to do. 1. Don't abandon your baby 2. Don't mix up the love language to your child. Study your child. Know what they like, what they need and then meet them where they're at to bring out the best in them. 3. Don't try to conform them to others. Accept them, guide them patiently, and nurture trust (especially after a 15 year separation). 4. Have your child's back! Especially when they're not wrong.
Xiao YuanYi is such one tough mama... very militaristic in her methods. She personifies tough love. I don't condone some of her motherly methods, but she does love CSS in her way. Her motherhood methods will be contrasted to the Queen... who is soft, and accepting and patient and kind. And yes, CSS enjoys being doted on by the Queen... as she has some serious mummy and day issues due to being abandoned since birth. But the proof is in the pudding, the Queen has raised some dud kids with her methods. Her daughter's a bratty bully, and her son doesn't show much leadership qualities as a crown prince.
Yes, XYY sucked as a mother especially in episode 24, she did raise some pretty good kids.
I'd like to applaud the Emperor for immediately seeing through the mother's BS. No child is as terrible as she…
The mum emotionally damaged CSS... poor girl just took in the tidal of verbal assault from her mother who never raised her. I cried so much when she responded to her mum and said, "i also want to live with my head held high." Her words severely wounded her daughter.
the female lead thought she would break free from her stubborn mother by marrying Yao ,, she didn't know that…
CSS's naive eyes are opening... little girl needs to wake up. Yes her own mum may be mean, but she's not lying when she says that LY is a weakling who has zero power to protect her.
Thank you for this analysis. Like the others, I'm also wondering if it's really a happy ending because of that quote from A Beautiful Mind, and the prelude with the FM having ptsd and desks with the death of her friend by imagining her to still be alive. I would love it if it was a hapy ending, but strangely if it was all in his mind, it would be so much deeper and surreal. Can't get it out of my mind now.
I just finished the drama... i love how there are quite a few layers to peel.... but as i finish, i can't help…
Especially with that quote from A Beautiful Mind, " he saw the world in a way that no one could have imagined."
And then in the final episode, when she experiences stomach pain and she comes to meet him in the car, she isn't wearing her ring. I'm still wondering if he is living in his dream.
I just finished the drama... i love how there are quite a few layers to peel.... but as i finish, i can't help wondering... is this a happy ending or is the happy ending just all in his mind??
What was Cong Rong's role in the book and contribution to the story? He just seems like a wallflower in the drama.…
What??? That is so scandalous! SX is spicy! My goodness, the novel really gives them other dimension not explored in the drama.
Thanks for sharing. I was just scratching my head by CongRong was in the drama. His character could have been written off and it doesn't even affect the series. But i see now he is quite a big piece of the puzzle in the novel.
Put that old fogey and all bratty kids in their place.

I'm quite convinced that that happy family final scene with the daughter is not real. This is so chilling... makes me so sad.

Of course they will promote socialism. It's the country's ideal.
