Same old same old....The ML is putting all the efforts and the FL is as usual a clueless, indecisive character..…
You know in Hidden Love when Sang Zhi is on the phone to Sang Yan and he says that someone is pursuing him and she doesn't believe him....that someone is Yi Fan. She DOES pursue him. Quite epically actually. But she has always been a quiet and shy person unless someone else is in danger. So it takes her a moment to believe that she deserves his love.
https://x.com/joyyy0325/status/1892248978080550957?s=46Saw a tweet talking about sangyan from HL and TFF and I…
Also, how a little sister sees a brother is not the same way a woman sees a lover. As the two stories are told from the two women's perspectives it makes sense that Sang Zhi only sees "family version" Sang Yan. It's mentioned multiple times to Sang Zhi's face that her brother is cool and popular, he tells her multiple times that someone is pursuing him, but every time she brushes him off with a "sure bro" like attitude, as a little sister should tbh.
i’ve been seeing a lot of comments say that her getting assaulted multiple times is unrealistic or too much.…
This^ I was trying to explain this to someone yesterday when they were victim blaming and saying she was weak for not learning some sort of self defense and reporting on the crimes against her as a journalist. Yi Fan's story is also to bring awareness to the fact that the justice/legal system continuously fails victims of sexual crimes. Even when she continuously reports the crimes against her she is told to cover it up or think about the family, or "blacklisted". Or so sorry but we can only hold him for so long because he didn't actually hurt you.
The first apartment we see her in is a share house. She isn't related to anyone. The landlord rents by the room not apartment. Her father dies during her first year of high school. Her parents were already divorced at that time and her mother had married a man with a younger daughter. The daughter didn't like attention being taken from her and refused to let Yi Fan stay with them. The mother wanted a fresh start from her first marriage. The step-father, if memory serves wasn't a horrible person. I think he was under the impression that a lot of things where Yi Fan's choice. (Someone correct me if i'm wrong) She first moves in with her paternal grandmother, but she passes away. She then moves in with her paternal uncle and his family. His wife is a piece of work. It's that woman's(her aunt by marriage) brother that sexually assaults her in high school. I believe her son steals from Yi Fan if I'm not mistaken, I can't remember if he skeeves on her though. I just remember that he was treated like a little prince that could do no wrong and she was treated like a heavy burden draining the family funds. Her Uncle is a bit of a pushover and can't stand up to his wife. The uncle-in-law, is a parasite but again, men can do no wrong in the eyes of her aunt.
So basically Wanna make a Tiktok Post explaining HIDDEN LOVE AND THIS DRAMA'S TIMELINE.so if anyone Can help me…
Most basic beginning timeline without year date and going only off of my memory of the novel I read over a year ago... Hidden love starts about 2-3 years after Sang Yan & Yi Fan's first day of high school. They have about a year together at the same school. He travels back and forth to see her in the new town she stays in for the rest of high school. End of their Senior year before graduation Yi Fan ends things with Sang Yan. Sang Yan meets Jai Xu his first week of University. Helps him pay for his mother's hospital fees and then funeral. Sang Zhi meets Jai Xu for the first time, and her crush begins. 4 years later they graduate...(no real contact for Yi Fan and Sang Yan....he goes to the city she is in regularly, but doesn't make contact. He collects her articles from the student newspaper & then her first job.) 1-2 years after Yi Fan, Sang Yan, and Jai Xu graduate university Sang Zhi is in her final semester of High school and Yi Fan walked into Overtime and runs into Sang Yan. I believe she had been in the city for about 3 weeks or months(again memory, not looking at the novel so vague about this timeline) prior to their first run in. He was shocked to see her because she had still been working at the newspaper the last time he went to the town she was living in. Once Yang Zhi starts university the stories begin to parallel/overlap each other. January/February Sang Yan moves into the apartment saying it will take a year for the repairs to be done with his apartment.(seems they changed that in the live action) By his next birthday(Jan 2 they(Yi Fan and Sang Yan) are on the same page about being together, and Jai Xu is now seeing Sang Zhi as an adult and is interested in her after she defends him in the restaurant on New Years Eve. Minutes after Jai Xu and Sang Yan leave the wedding reception of Sang Yan & Jai Xu's roommate, Yi Fan shows up as Sang Yan's girlfriend and is introduced for the first time to the college friend group as his SO. Summertime Sang Yan catches his bestie dating his little sister. That morning he and YiFan get in an argument and he leaves his luggage in the back of his car in the parking garage and takes a taxi to the airport instead.
he went back to her old apartment and heard the creepy guy and his friends talking about her, then he beat them…
It was to show that the legal/justice system doesn't always work for victims. How quickly abusers/criminals can get released on SA allegations, even when there is someone willing to testify. Because she wasn't physically injured they can't spend more than like 3 days to a week in holding. (that was what the novel mentioned anyway)
Jai Hu? Do you mean Jai Xu? if so it's again because of the time jump in each story. We are at post university where Jai Xu has moved back to his hometown to work so he can be closer to where is father is hospitalized. He's not a main character in Yi Fan's story, because Sang Yan meets him AFTER she has already left Sang Yan.
If you're American, think of it like Sang Yan and Yi Fan are living in New York City and Jai Xu is living in Chicago. European, they are living in London, England while he is in Milan, Italy. Australian...They are living in Melbourne while he is living in Brisbane.
Oh, Bai Jing Ting is one of the best actors in his age group, love him, extremely glad and grateful that he was cast as Sang Yan. I'm just saying Victor knew about The First Frost story when they filmed HL so he made sure to add "background" that the audience wouldn't see unless they knew his story.
The drama only just started. My goodness. Give it time to develop. Also, that’s a huge spoiler. You need a spoiler…
Dude, the sleepwalking aspect has literally been in every description of the story. It's not a spoiler its a fact of the whole set up. They must of changed the synopsis on MDL, but it's the main teaser on everything involving this story prior. And it happens very early on in the novel. Because it's from her POV and she mentions repeatedly being more tired and hoping that her sleepwalking hasn't started up again.
the love feels comepletely one-sided and it bothers me... i'm putting this on hold for now maybe i will pick it…
They literally only ever loved each other like a little penguin couple. She doesn't even understand when someone is hitting on her(not in a creepy way) because her head is always on him. Hers is a quiet and shy love. She will turn the tables, much to Sang Yan' delight, when she finally gets the courage to pursue him. He is extremely patient and knows that she spooks easily. He's like a tree, growing roots just to give her a stronger foundation and shelter. Always there, always waiting.
She cares for him deeply, but because of her own issues, she feels like she dirties him/burdens him when they are young and she has no support system. She knows him better than anyone, she just doesn't realize it yet. She's not afraid of having people in his space and him being mad. She doesn't like people in THEIR space, messing with HIS things. He is precious to her, but she doesn't know how to navigate her feelings for him. She knows she hurt him, and she knows that she still likes him, she is just so in her head that she doesn't see that he is still deeply, madly, and irrevocably in love with her.
She will realize that he deserves someone who cares for him the same way he shows care and love, and she goes out of her way to show that. She's going to find the best most perfect pebble to present to him(this is a penguin reference).
I hope they adapt the video game. They keep hinting at it, but I'm not sure they will execute it in the show.
Because his sister was oblivious for all of his high school days. And we time jumped in Hidden Love past the current day in TFF. So Sang Zhi's senior year, which is where we are currently at was skipped in Hidden Love as she didn't interact with Jai Xu.
In Hidden Love he repeatedly tells his sister that someone is pursuing him during her freshman year of university, she just doesn't believe him. He also rolls his eyes and smirks to himself anytime someone mentions relationships/dating. Go back and rewatch it after you finish TFF...Victor Ma did a really good job at leaving subtle clues.
Spoilers below.... Yi Fan literally showed up to the wedding reception mere minutes after Jai Xu took Sang Zhi home. When he is third wheeling super hard after catching them together, he's already been in a relationship with Yi Fan for months, and living with her for over a year.
Okay, so we are already on episode 6 and still no hint of her sleep disorder. Not dark circles being concealed, not her sitting in the living room in the dark, not her walking into Sang Yan's room....nothing, nada, zip. I figured with all the recent triggers they would have shown at least a hint of it. Even if it was something that people wouldn't clock as a sleep disorder without context from the novel.
There is a bit of a running joke with the ML, Sang Yan. He actually has a very high IQ and his business is doing…
Just to clarify she wasn't raped, & it was her Aunt's brother, not blood related who sexually harassed her in the home they shared in high school. Her family, Aunt & mother, tried to get her to stay quiet & cover it up. A kind police woman took her in so she could leave the home & finish her senior year. This all happened the week high schoolers are filling out their university lists. She barely slept during her senior year because of the man trying to get into her room while her aunt was out late working at her restaurant. She would barricade the door to her room at night. (just an aside...why the hell did production give her a damn sliding door in the apartment she started at? she moved her bed to block the door, but all she did was put herself closer to whomever would be trying to get in.🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️)
Sang Yan, I believe is on leave from his job, I can't remember exactly. I can't tell if they've changed it for the show or not, but he didn't have to study much. Honestly always got the impression that he was on the autism spectrum, but that could be personal projection. It's a story of it's time, & it was a web novel aka wattpad level. So the flaws are going to be there storywise. But the best part about fiction is that a perfectly empathetic, intelligent, and wealthy man can fall in love with every version of a broken girl & help her overcome her past with patience & care. I like a bit of fantasy in my romance just as much as the next person.
