Yeah. The first half is really good but the second one is really bad. I mean, there's not way this is a 8.8 drama.
Yeah, these ratings aren't to be trusted at all lol. MyAnimeList does a much better job of giving accurate ratings imo, not perfect but definitely better.
The last episode had soooo many moments that made me laugh out loud (GS and SH blaming e/o, dads' drunk fight, JiHo apologizing to Jeong in after drinking with his buds, Jeong In waking up in Eun Woo's room etc). It was such a heartwarming finale and definitely something that I needed right now. I can't believe I have to go back to boring Wednesdays and Thursdays from now on T.T
Yu Jiho x Lee Jeong In = Relationship goals. Ever since Healer, I was looking for a romance that would sweep me off my feet and, this is it, One Spring Night gave me everything I have been craving for and for that I'll be eternally thankful. What a beautifully directed, wonderfully written, amazingly acted show. THIS is how you make a drama that sticks with people. I am going to miss all the characters so much :(
From the very first trailer, there no such thing as "rom-com" bait as u said.. and no one would say that based…
I don't see a melodrama or tragedy tag in the genre. It say rom com right there. Tbh I really don't have a problem with a comedy show turning dark, in fact I welcome it, IF executed well (e.g. Made in Abyss). Had they handled the melo/tragedy plotline well, it could have become a great show but nope, they just switched the mood of the show halfway through without any substantial plot to back it up. So yeah, bait and switch for me. If it works for you, then good but it doesn't work for me
This drama is the ultimate example of bait and switch. They lured us in with the rom-com aspect and threw a curveball by turning this show into a poor excuse of a melodrama with a dash of tragedy, completely butchering the characters and the story in the process. I actually really enjoyed this drama up until episode 6/16 and was looking forward to what other plot points they could explore but nope, the story kept running into circles, so much so that it has made me detached to the characters that I had actually grown fond of. BAD writing and direction.
