Nothing wrong with this lakorn, but the girl lead is a bit annoying, she lets everyone step all over her, no backbone. I dont see the same chemistry between the leads at all. Otherwise it is a goid drama. But I prefer the strong female lead in Kluen.
Comparing it to coffe prince made me loose my intrest.
I also really liked «Because this is my life «it has depth to it , well acted and crafted. Coffee prince left me cold, I finished it, but I don’t understand it’s popularity.
I can't believe Li Cheng Yin slapped Xiao Feng thinking she's the mastermind behind the killing of the servant…
That did not upset me at all, because the reason behind it was so obvious. He becomes so enraged and afraid for her safety , so in desperation he makes a tactic move , a calculated slap in public « See I dont love this woman, so there is no need going after her» He knows that she could and propably would be the next target. He needs to eliminate his enemies , before he can have her by his side.
It is lame to slap Xiao Feng but not because he really thought XF was the mastermind. It was obviously a play…
A desperate move from his part He became angry and scared for her safety, if they poisen his concubine, what will they do to her if they find out how he feels? So he slaps her for all to see,
I was wondering everyone's thoughts on a couple of questions:1- Do you think Li Cheng Yin ever fell in love with…
1, He starts to fall for her after she retrieves his jade neclace, they are sitting by the lake, and she talks about how she wishes she was’nt a Princess, she is also worried about Gu Jian. The way Cheng Li stares at her at the end of their conversation was for me the first indication that he is falling for her. He is displeased, there is a expresson that we have not seen before, jelousy. 2. No , I don’t think so, he is older and her teacher, on her part it is natural for her to have a crush/infatuation for him, he was propably the only man that is not family, allowed to spend time alone with her. She romanticized their relationship, but forgot him easily. 3. I don’t see a happy ending for them together. A satisfying ending would be him never getting over her and what he did, living his life in misery and regret, and her living a happy life in the plains with the next Danshi chief king.
The role of the second male lead aka Gu Jian is good. Don't get me wrong, I like Shawn Wei and his portrayal but…
I have no second lead syndrome at all. I think the casting is perfect, I think this is just a matter of personal taste, I find the lead more charismatic and handsome, I also find it very beliveable for her to first have a superficial crush on a older teacher, to then fall inlove with someone her age who has that young boyish charm, is sweet and seemingly Innoscent. The contrast from the young sweet boy turning into the violent prince, is just heartbreaking. A older lead would not have the same effect.
Popular actor and actress does not save this drama, it is downright boring. The costumes and settings are beautiful, but the characters are stiff and unengaging. There is no chemistry between the leads, I never felt there was any actraction between them,To be honest I question the male actors ability to act. I watched the 1999 version, and I found it much better
