Ep 6 - Those epilogues continue to be a total treat. It was so rewarding to see that the lovers survived and were able to escape to their new life together. Madam Merchant whispered in the ear of our FL how the lovers heat the inn in their first night together and our FL asked naively if there was a need to put a heater in that weather. So hilarious. We only saw a glimpse of the romance of this couple but it brought a lot of spice to the narrative. The widow lover and the servant lover were very well matched so I could really visualised what Madam Merchant was telling our FL about it 😋😂 (On another note, is it not ML/Jong Won facial features amazing? he looks like a walking-painted portrait! 😍)

For me, this is lazy writing to jump quickly into the next stage and explain the obvious plot: nemesis becoming lovers. Not very original either but K dramas are really repeating themselves lately so let's just enjoy what it is to come.

Ep 1 - I reserved judgment on this one. Started alright, with Hyung Sik showing his usual charm, engaging, sweet expressions, lovely as a student, but the script really went downhill when he was accused. It was so obvious that he was framed, that the anesthesiologist was on it. Why K dramas insist on portraying their police force and prosecution in such insulting way? These are the easiest resources to create the obvious melodrama. OK I know this is going to be over soon, and we will be jumping into one of those villages kind of dramas that we have seen a bunch lately but that could be a nice ride. I have my hope for the 2nd ep.

Ep 4 and Haruta and Maki keep bringing the sweetest and funniest interaction ever. Their shopping dating was a treat! and Haruta trying to pack himself in Maki suitcase, adorable. They are both such green flags, they trust and love each other unconditionally. Kudos to the great acting of Tai Tanaka and Kento Hayashi in the roles of Haruta and Maki . It is their third collaboration together in this "franchise" and they look like a couple of great friends having so much fun in the behind-the-scenes videos. I cannot wait for Episode 6!!!! The epilogue for Ep 5 was my highlight, with the evil mother in law scolding our FL that she has to behave like the other widow and Fl knowing/seeing clearly how the other widow truly behave with her servant lover, FL then asked "just like her?" Oh well, that evil mother-in-law is putting the right thoughts in our FL! 😂😋 (I cannot wait for our super FL to get together with the gorgeous ML!)

Well done! unfortunately, there are also a lot of trolls here, so if you write something "deep" they tell you to shut up, it has happened to me a few times. What I do is block those people and save me the aggravation. If you go to their account and where it says "add as friend" there is a blocking function. There are also haters or anti-fans. In My Demon, a K drama with Song Kang there are those super fanatics of him and there are the anti-fans, it was awful there. I could not say anything positive about the series that an anti-fan would insult me, and I am not even a fan of Song Kang, I do not even like his previous acting jobs! so it was really frustrating.

I for once have enjoyed the very enlightening comments from some people here that enriched the conversation about this series. Unfortunately, in MDL if you write something a little bit "deep" there is a troll telling you to shut up.

I appreciate you want to be entertained and just have a light-hearted series with two beautiful boys loving each other in a world rooting for them. This is why we enjoy Disney movies too! I only wish we could call things by their real name: two boys/men loving each other are gay men (or they could be bisexual or pansexual too).

I loved this series, the partnership of Ni Ni and Bai Yu was perfect! action couple, loving and sensual. On the other hand, pairing Yu Xi Xiao (mute girl) with Zhao Da was beyond creepy, what a terrible idea. Meng Zi Yi looks great as a villain, her best role for me, I like Jin Han (Scorpion leader) as her CP they look really good together. I am aware that readers of the original work were disappointed somehow but I did not have this bias, so it was a great journey for me as a viewer. Very rewarding.

Don't forget this is fiction and Japanese productions allow themselves to be more politically incorrect than other parts of the world. It is up to us, discerning adults to choose what we watch. BLs in Japan are considered adult viewing even the very innocent ones, so are broadcast after 10 pm, most at midnight. I have verified this fact. I hesitated to watch it but then I accepted that it is fiction and I had already watched from Japan one movie and one series with the same theme (non-BL). Those non-BL made me feel more uncomfortable because of the weak role and over-sexualization of girls. Here Toki is strong-minded, straightforward and so mature in what he stands and Sahara is this sweet calm presence that smooths any reservation in watching this, as long we keep in mind is fiction and for entertaining purpose.
