In China being hired in a lead role change very quickly. Look at the FL in Rebirth, that is a top tier production but they hired her anyway. I don't recall she was the lead in anything before that as she was considered a child actor. I read today Deng Kai and Snow Kong are confirmed but they could be a 2CP or something like this.

I am so confused by the teasers and not sure if watching. So the FL has a romantic liaison - Chu Qiao character ? Who is? It looks is the 2ML? I thought, they won't focus in the romantic side, as the actress was a minor when filming (she turned 18 in July this year, but the filming start in December 2024, it was very much commented in Chinese social media). It does strike me the age gap if they are pairing him with Yun Rui, but ther other ML was 22 at the time of filming. so it is not that noticeable. I am a follower of Yun Rui since Parallel worlds and I think the young actress is really good as the rest of the cast. So nothing against any of them, just would like to know to be prepared before watching.

I actually would recommend this one as your first C Drama because it is very good and has a wide range of characters and three couples. A lighter one would be a New Life begins by the FL here. It is more a comedy but the ML is also really good there. There are lots, it all depends what you are looking for. China has also been famous for its bromances. If you like beautiful male leads one try The Untamed. The Spirealm has very good reputation too. I have not watched it myself.

I felt the same when I knew the casting, so I am not sure if the series is good that we can by pass that one, but if it is bothering you, probably would bother me too.
