Exactly like this. Do you know that not all actors do fan service?. Some of the very top tear actors have clauses in the contracts in which they refused to do fan service. They will promote the film/series but they don't do any flirty stuff or suggestive actions with their co-leads. Some other refused altogether to be involved in romantic films. I am so glad they have managed to reach so high in their career that they can stop this. With fan service, there is much too loose for a female and male actor. Fans get carried away imaging romantic liaisons that do not exist, sometime harming the reputation of the actors, because they filmed at least 2 productions per year some of them 4 per year and they have to do the same every time.

If you don't hate BL, Kill to Love, is a costume drama where the actors are using their own voices. Historical, not costume, Hidden Blade really good film but dark plot line again no dubbing. This is true for some of them :-) I was thinking for instance in Park Seo Ham, in the Murky Stream. I think he put lots of weight. I hardly could recognise him. RoWoon, almost the same. I think the actual series was a flop. I did not watch it only the trailer.

I think that was my "fault" because I mentioned BL but I wanted to make a point about the creative capacity and talent in China. Regarding LGBTQ+ people in China we need to make a distinction. BL/GL has nothing to do with the community. And in all fairness because I look at this issue seriously to write an article, in China the community suffer much less violence and repression that in any other Asian country and Western countries too. They were the first in Asia to decriminalise this relationship. The position of China has always been this is a private issue and should not been hold as "the" behaviour for the majority of the population. This has cerated invisibilisation that is never good news for a minority, but as China govern for the "majority" some groups would be less heard than others.

I am totally with you on How Dare you? I don't know why but it is funny yet it is not thrilling isn't it? The best of GTG was Yinrui paired with Wan Peng, what a CP. they stole the show in every scene they appeared. I hope they cast them together in the future. It is their personal choice. An actor in china that has not breakthrough in the early 20s, (meaning is not hiring regularly even as support actor) t is believed won't be offered lead roles. I took this info from a Chinese article.

Deng Kai is a super actor. Hopefully he will be offered better scripts after this. Somebody commented that he was great in the Wanted Detective with the ML of The Double. I tried to watch The Maid but it is the typical short stories. I hate so much the roles of women's there: temptress and victims.

I agree that historical k dramas sacrifice "pretty" to a good portrayal.

TXW new Life begins is my favourite from her. Generation to generation I watched but I wouldn't recommend it. Blossom is great. The best thing with ZLH the role suit him, his CP was beautiful but maybe the storyline is not exciting enough for some people. I am going to check the rest. I am watching How are you? It is good.

As CP? I support that! It would be such cute and hilarious couple! Apart from that I would like to see him in lead roles or second lead on his own. TXW is already a leading actress, she will keep growing.

This has been a rumour for quite a few months. So far the only real evidence happened here in POJ with one of the actors that his face was altered by AI but there is not statement saying it was because he is in a BL. I know those who were hirable are still working in mainstream series. I can say their names. We have to remember some of these actors accepted a BL because they didn't break in the industry.

Looks is up to the director. ZLH look spellbinding here but it was up to the production team and all the filters in post production! Other directors are more realistic e.g the last film of Xiao Zhan about the Japanese invasion during the war they roughed him up to fit the role. The worrying is limiting creative spaces won't enhance the storylines but restrict them even more. In China they are masters of dramas. The proof is when they took the BL genre abroad to avoid censorship they created really good productions.

It does suffer a slump for sure and it was hard going from ep 30 but this is how it goes with Chinese dramas. So for me was within what I was expecting. still a great series overall. What is true is that the new fans of ZLH and TXW are really irritating and bring here all the drama of social media. Every series of ZLH the critics are the same: too handsome not good actor. He does take it in the chin every time too. I follow the leads career from their first series. In this series they have great roles but TXW is the best comedian and her role in New Life begins was hilarious. So I actually do prefer that role for her.
