Yes, likely so. but they are rushing the release to protect everybody involved in case things get worse in China.

There was somebody here who explained the meaning of their names in Chinese. It was beautiful. I like fictionalised history. This is based in two real Emperors and their South and North Kingdoms. The South one was called the poet emperor. The North conquer the south and start a new dynasty. The poet emperor was held in the North capital in house arrest. so all that is true, the romance is invented. I think the romance symbolise the conquer and domination. This is what ShuHe said to DZA (ep 8) you not only wanted the fall of the South Kingdom you wanted it with my heart and flesh. I think Shu He felt that DZA was consumed both by his desire of seeing South Kingdom fall and his love and desire for Shu He. He never understood that Shu He loved his country. Shu He felt that the act of seduction was mixed with the act of conquering, in his case of conquering his heart and body.

I personally was hooked since the first second the camera focus on ShuHe (Mi Jin) and then of course when DZA appears (Zhe Xu) he is a force of nature. Yes I know some people don't get it from the beginning because it is a complex plot in a short series form, but if they persevere they are totally rewarded. This is what I am telling my friends.

The best BL that I have ever watched. I put it next to The Untamed. For me is a total winner. Exquisite script, the actors are amazing, wonderful chemistry. This series is on another quality level. People said it is not as appealing in the first episode, I was hooked since the first second the camera focus on ShuHe (Mi Jin) and then of course when DZA appears (Zhe Xu) he is a force of nature.

Actually it raised from 8.1 to 8.2 today, so I am happy.

I don't think anybody audition. The Sister Nongs knew LPE before. the problem was to find the actor for SSY. Elliot fought hard for that one because the sisters did not want Kipuka

It cannot be broadcast in China - officially. People watch it via foreign VPN, which is illegal in China but everybody does. I am reading in RedNote that people in China had not even heard that it was going to be released. They are discovering at the same time as us. the actors do not promote this BL in their individual Weibo accounts. They are trying to protect their careers.

Well done everybody, the rating increased to 8.2 and the Instagram accounts of the boys have now more than 3,000 followers. I hope they reached the hundreds thousands as other BL actors have.

This is based on true historical events. People die young back in the day, we just don't see it in other productions :-) There is no evidence from the novel that there is more than pulls and pushes while ShuHe is held prisoner. There is even a vid in which Shu He also caresses DZA. We will know this weekend. The wedding scene is not guarantee of a happy ending as it could be a dream. The novel finished with reincarnation so it could be also their future selves, but I would be inclined to believe that it is a dream.

The novel has not been translated, but also I looked at this, it is much more complex than the live, has more characters. Without a proper translation I personally would not try to read it. This time I would enjoy the live as the director/producer/writers wanted to present it.

For me the best BL I have ever watched honestly, is that much how I think this is so good. The actors are amazing they put their souls in these characters and their chemistry is incredible. the script is something else, there are lines full of poetry.
