Just finished TEF, and somehow I'm back here again. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

I really miss the days when VOS was airing and we'd all gather here after every episode to discuss it. Those were such fun times.

VOS really set the bar too high for me. ๐Ÿ˜‚It took me almost three months before I finally convinced (forcibly) myself to start TEF, which was already halfway through its broadcast by then, hoping it'd heal my VOS withdrawal... but oh well. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Looks like the only way to recover now is to rewatch VOS, especially all my Jilu baobeis' scenes. Hehe. ๐Ÿค

Just finished the drama, and wow... the first half really felt like The Eternal Fragrance, but somewhere along the way it turned into A Tale of Ji Tong Zhou's Obsession (and the Many Ways to Kill Him). ๐Ÿ˜‚

That said, I still enjoyed every scene between JLF and LXY, even though there were so few of them. It was obvious that many of their moments were drastically cut, which was honestly disappointing.
Despite all its flaws, I'm still grateful this drama was released. The script may have been its weakest point (huge side-eye to the scriptwriters ๐Ÿ˜ญ), but the hard work of the cast and everyone behind the production deserves appreciation.

I was really hoping SWL and JJY's second collaboration would be another unforgettable masterpiece. Well... life doesn't always give us what we want, does it? (JTZ, you should've learned that lesson too. ๐Ÿ˜Œ)

Even with the limited romance, their chemistry still managed to shine through. Every interaction felt natural, and you could tell how comfortable they are with each other. After watching their latest interview, it's pretty obvious they've become quite close off-screen too, which only makes me even more excited.

Here's to hoping we get a third collaboration someday. If they can create this much chemistry with so little screen time together, imagine what they could do with a script that actually lets them shine. ๐Ÿค modern one, pretty please? ๐Ÿคช

This was also my first drama after Veil of Shadows traumatized me so badly, lol. I guess I was hoping this one would heal me... instead, it gave me a whole new set of frustrations. ๐Ÿ˜‚

So despite everything... I'll still be here, patiently waiting for SWL ร— JJY, round three. ๐Ÿค

I love you but no I do not want to see them paired again! simply because he wonโ€™t be able to convince me that…
Oh, I see... ๐Ÿ’” I didn't know that.

I'm actually not a fan of Song Weilong, so I wasn't really following his promotions. I only noticed that JJY did the dance trend with the rest of the cast, while I didn't see him joining it. Since The Eternal Fragrance is an older project and Love for You is his newer drama, maybe that's where his current focus is. Of course, we don't really know what goes on behind the scenes.

Still, as a JJY fan, I can't help feeling a little disappointed because I really enjoyed their chemistry and hoped we'd get more promotions from the two of them. But I guess this drama is ending soon anyway... I'll just enjoy the remaining episodes and cherish this pairing while it lasts. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’”

Title The Eternal Fragrance Spoiler
just for once I donโ€™t want to see the final battle to be between the 2 leads! I mean can the script writers…
as per the novel, the final battle would be between the two and Ji Thongzhou, he became greedily obsessed and even killed CuiXuan along the way, and from what I can see from the snippets, his hair also will turn gray at the end

And yes... I know I sound greedy. ๐Ÿ˜ญ But this pairing is WAY too good to be a two-time thing. Please don't let this chemistry go to waste. Can we PLEASE get Ju Jingyi and Song Weilong in a modern drama next?

Hear me out... heir ร— heiress. Two powerful families. Business rivals. Childhood frenemies. Arranged marriage. Fake dating. Slow-burn enemies-to-lovers. Imagine the tension, the banter, the longing, the visuals... they would absolutely EAT. ๐Ÿ‘€

CDrama producers, if you're listening... you already have the chemistry. Now give us the modern drama we deserve. ๐Ÿ™ Who else is seated if this becomes true? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Doomed Fated Lovers... Ju Jingyi really said, "I'm not done making you guys suffer." ๐Ÿ˜ญ After that phenomenal performance in Veil of Shadows, here she is again, serving another doomed romance.
Is the plot perfect? Definitely not. The writing is shaky, the editing is questionable, and there are moments where you just go, "What was that?" ๐Ÿ˜ญ But honestly? I don't even mind that much. I'd rather have this drama air than let it end up collecting dust on the shelf.

The cast is honestly carrying the drama. Everyone is fully committed to their roles, and their performances make it so much easier to overlook the flaws. They sell every emotional scene, and that's what's keeping me invested.

Now, can we PLEASE talk about Ju Jingyi and Song Weilong? Their chemistry is actually so much better than I expected. It feels a little strangeโ€”but in the best way possible. Maybe it's because I'm still suffering from Veil of Shadows brain rot, where Lu Wuyi completely overshadowed Ji Ling. Lu Wuyi had such a commanding presence, and she was more between the two, hopelessly yearning, chasing, and sacrificing for love. This time, it's Lei Xiuyuan who's absolutely down bad, carrying all the yearning, devotion, and heartbreak instead. The role reversal caught me off guard, but I'm honestly loving every second of it.

Will this drama be a masterpiece? Probably not. Will I still be seated for every episode because of Ju Jingyi, Song Weilong, and all the emotional angst? Absolutely. Give me doomed lovers, mutual pining, heartbreaking sacrifices, unbearable longing, and all the painโ€”I will eat it up every single time.๐Ÿคช

Finally have the time to rewatch the drama from the very first ep until the end, but tell me why is my second watch hurts more than the first ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Bawled my eyes out throughout, knowing the fate they will be going through, not to mention that angsty ep 23-29 ๐Ÿฅน
