OH SAME!!!! Veil of shadows was my number one drama of 2026, and tbh I can't move on even watching the eternal fragrance can't get me off completely from JiLu. This drama on the other hand had me pausing every minutes to gather myself. God knows how many times I've slapped my table, screamed on my pillow HAHA truly VOS & TES is my all-time favorite.
nvm the second Tibet scene, we were actually robbed of the New Year scene 😭 LN was sick, but more than that, he was quietly struggling with the feeling that SZT didn’t love him the way she used to. His possessiveness made him feel like he was no longer her No. 1, even though they had already reconciled.
And then SZT missed him so badly that she literally drove 16 hours from Harbin to Beijing just to celebrate New Year with him 💀 That was what finally broke LN. He actually cried when he realised that SZT’s love for him had never diminished, and she reassured him that she loved him just as much as he loved her.
And in that moment, SZT also finally understood how exhausting it must have been for LN to make that same journey from Beijing to Harbin every single week just to see her.

Nope, it’s quite similar, but the main reason was that she was already very down after SYZ’s death, coupled with the promotion issue. In the novel, her friendship with SYZ was portrayed as a really deep one, so his death hit her the hardest.
The promotion was based on scores given by the bigwigs, and she wasn’t promoted because one of them gave her a low score. Tracy, Grace, etc. told her they had given her high scores, so since LN was the only one left, she assumed he was the one who gave her the low score.
But in the end, it was clarified that Grace was actually the one who gave her the low score, not LN.
As much as I love that the drama ended with all the important points highlighted (even though it felt rushed), I still wish they had included the 30-day, 13,000km road trip around China that LN specifically planned to surprise SZT before proposing to her at the museum at the end of the trip. 😭
Because I NEED to see the Tibet scene where they return and realize their photo is still hanging in the shops, and the owner literally tells everyone on the street, “My models are back!” 😭 Then LN & SZT take another couple photo together and promise to come back with their child one day for another picture. 🙌🏻
Absolutely 😭 JBR really understood the assignment with the Aurora scene. The novel already made the scene devastating, but seeing all those tiny details translated on screen—the tears, the restrained expressions, the body language, and especially that yearning—made it hit so much harder.
I cried reading the novel’s version, but watching JBR actually embody the emotions had me absolutely SOBBING. The fact that the scene lived up to what I imagined while reading is honestly a miracle. Chef’s kiss. 😭🤌🏻
