That's the whole point. His character setting is that he's an unreasonable motherfker who is fiercely protective of the only person he cares about aka his sister. He doesn't see Lin Yu as a person. He sees her as a threat to his sister's life and wants to instantly eliminate the threat. The show wants us to think of it as such and also if he's redeemable. Also the "Game" wants to justify the whole thing because of her "tutorial mode". Furthermore there is another reason that it gets revealed in later episodes.
