Yes, still worth watching because the series shows many characters that absolutely do exist in real word. The finale is also what happens in actual life some times.

TRUE ANTAGONIST of the series Golden Picture (this site has forgot to translate the name) is not who you think.…
The true antagonist is the younger brother because the tragedy has happened because of his actions, regardless of external pressures

Notes about the series, including some truly BONKERS ideas it has:
— Seua is not a real character as people discover their attractions no later than by puberty, not when they are 25
— 25-30 year olds are obeying their parents? Ridiculous
— Everybody eavesdropping on each other
— Women raise gays and make them bored and irritated with women
— Gays do not have gender?
— Pregnancy is an accident? Not believable
— Seua’s idea of manning up towards the end is to run away, which is, funny enough, childish
— for no reason characters think that children can not be born out of wedlock, pretend it is not a thing and that the child will have no father without the marriage
— gays can not be fathers, so you have to give your child to a different person?
— No need for the older son to pretend he has shot the lad, especially because Seua would have told the truth and there are surveillance cameras that show he was not even there
— WHAT? The mother is paralysed now? They went overboard
— Zero reasons for the elder son to care about his monster mother, even doing it for his younger brother is too much, she does not deserve anything other than hell

TECHNICAL issues:
— Ridiculous bruise makeup
— smartphones never locked
— most of in-house talks happen during bright daylight when people should be working
— this was filmed with on-body microphones, so the sound becomes horrible when actors stand up from a sitting position or the hug each other, and sound editor did not correct it
— flashbacks to like five seconds ago is really bad practice

The story is like from a couple of hundreds of years ago, not from today, where it is not believable in key aspects.

Still totally worth watching as it does tell a story with some crucial real life truth to it, despite the massive drawbacks, including some bonkers stuff:

I first watched him in Dead Time Stories 2 and I was really impressed! Now, i have to watch his other dramas.
Watch Rup Thong then. He is good, and he is in a BL pair there.

In regards to the gap, I guess the authors are against ageism, which they find to be discriminatory and toxic…
Why? The older one is often way more disparate than the younger one. Depends on the situation. Also, if I would follow your suit, I would say it is terrible that you think about this in the ageist way. But I am not saying this because both positions can be valid case by case. No need to embrace one type of toxicity by accepting either of two maximalist blanket positions to fight the other.

Yeah, it was more like a warning for people who don't enjoy watching unhealthy dynamics. I do agree that all kinds…
I did not watch too many new BL dramas yet because I like to go chronologically, so I have watched historical BLs like Love Sick series from 2014 etc.

But I did watch ABO Desire, which is a new a story about a powerful weaker person (and the lad playing it is unreal, basically some ethereal being).

And I watch Cursed Love with a typical role distribution between lovers, but the supposed bottom there is also incredible with the most amazing eyes I have ever seen (the series is not that great, though).

Finally, I watch That Summer, but it also has typical roles in between the main pair; actor Satang looks like real prince there, but he is courted like a princess.

But maybe there are new series with couples that on an equal footing, I did not just watch those yet. Though it might be hard to find because we have now like 100 BL series a year released.

Those are the two toxicities that fight each other.

And you can always think of it however you want because the younger one has the power of youth and beauty that the older one can not already have.

So both have the power imbalance with each other, though a different kinds. Sometimes the younger one is ordering the older one around, and the other times the older one is owning the younger one like a pet. Or they find a balance within their heterogeneous power imbalance and can be actually happy.

That was my point.

I did not like everything in the series I have mentioned, but I do not regret it.

I am not offended by those wifey/hubby terms, I think they are cute, rather. But I wish BL series had two hubbies as a couple sometimes.

But do we see any BL actor couples that are not into the typical dichotomy?

You are right, it all comes from Japan as the very term BL is a literal translation of the “shonen ai” term. A genre where straight females write and draw manga for straight female audience. So the typical roles are basically the rule of the BL genre.

is not he cute? Why does not he play roles?
Well, he did play a very queer lady body in Make It Right series, but not in much else.

I am still annoyed that Thai BL think of of gays only as givers and receivers, even though, according studies, about half of gays are versatile, which is basically never a thing in any series. They always have to be “wifeys” and “hubbies”.

In regards to this series specifically, this is my first ever Thai drama, rather than BL series.

I find how Thai elderly women behave adorable.

The music is so funny with its dramatism. Reminds me of Turkish or Indian dramas. Never heard this kind of music in actual BL series.

The social cliches displayed are also funny. Turns out lower class people do not know what deodorants or perfumes are, they are such brutes. Which is especially ridiculous since that brother character has lived in a rich home for the first ten years of his life, so he certainly knows this all even if we take this absurd stance that only rich people know how to take care of themselves.

Some acting is over the top, of course.

And I am only at the episode two now, LOL.

Thanks.

It is a bit funny to read that a series from 2018 is old for less absurd understanding of queer elements as if it is from 1998. But yes, we see improvements only by now.

As to toxicity issues, I do not put those as drawbacks because what is toxic or not is culture, time and personality preference dependent, and there are people who do behave this way, and some that like it. Fiction should not have to only represent perfect people. Messy and toxic things should be covered too.

The same goes for e.g. action, fantasy, scientific fiction films where even protagonists are often violent or murderous (for a “good cause”). This is way worse than anything what people consider toxic in the BL genre, but it is still fine somehow.

But, of course, I like the fact the toxicity issues are discussed in your review because some novice viewers might not have looked at the events depicted under this angle.

Indeed, views is only part of the equation. Other important things are merchandise and fan events sales that the agency runs. They also get their percentage from all of the brand deals their actors make. So the money stream is the ultimate judge. Though the number of views of the series is still crucial because everything else is a function of it.

Even product placing is not a fixed payment that is made to GMMTV because they get premium payments for viewership thresholds, which are to be audited to exclude fraud by both GMMTV and fan communities.

What second season? How is it named? Thanks in advance.
Wow, what a mess. I thought Love Sick and Make It Right series were bad at randomly changing actors between seasons, but here it is even worse.

I am currently watching this first season, and I find it lacking in how it is made, not an easy watch for me (especially the annoying background music that either lasts forever or randomly turns into dead silence), but I like the cast.

Why did he quit? Such a cutie.
Wow, as expected from the “fans”.

Do these delusional sickos ever understand that almost all BL actors are straight, so their beloved ships can never be real in the first place?

It should not be that hard to understand that the flirting is just fan service and can not be anything else even theoretically (because only one of actors might be gay at best, except for unique cases like Mew and Tul, but they are not doing BL now).

Well, no wonder. The lad seems to have been an actor since the age of one or something.

No difference
There is nothing to cut because GMMTV usually has PG0 rating in terms of intimate content, unlike other studios. But OffGun sometimes have more mature content in terms of blood/violence. Still, it is allowed on YT.
