This drama follows the isekai plot of portal fantasy and science fiction having real people been transported into a video game set within a historical period. This drama might be more attractive to younger viewers or those interested in video game features within a drama like changing into alternate endings depending on the outcome of some game choices (when the female lead sees that her choice lead to someone dying, she re-sets the game to get an alternate outcome) and so on. This is not a drama with a serious plot since the female lead is just trying to get out of this virtual world and she “plays” around with 4 male characters to achieve her most favorable scores to end the game. The male lead, an NCP on this game, is highly misunderstood by the female lead because he lacks score points and she assumes that he doesn’t love her. Due to the nature of how these real life characters make it into the game, the story gets complicated sometimes and basically ridiculous at other moments. The ending is quite insipid because, even if it is a happy ending, deciding to live happy moments in virtual reality instead of real life, is quite absurd; most likely to please game players with a wishful thinking that they could live life by resetting outcomes and changing the consequences as they see fit. The leading couple has a nice and fun chemistry but their romantic scenes lack zest. Still, it is a nice watch for a video game generation and viewers looking into something cute and sometimes funny.

This is a really nice and cute romantic comedy set within an art university life starting with the protagonists first year and ending with their graduation. Although the drama is about Yuan Qian and Qin Shen being single since childhood and how they slowly fall in love, the plot also includes the lives and struggles of other students as well. The male lead, Qin Shen (played by Aaron Deng) falls first for the female lead Yuan Qian (played by Ireine Song), but keeps his feelings to himself until he notices that there’s another guy interested in her and his not about to lose her. The female lead also falls for Qin Shen but, because of her demure character, which lasts for almost the entire drama, it takes some time to respond to Qin Shen’s feelings. Although the leading couple has good fun and playful chemistry, their romantic scenes are not that good; there’s something amiss, especially from Ireine Song, which makes it difficult to believe that she’s deeply in love although one can tell that she likes only Qin Shen as her romantic interest. Even though the drama could’ve shown a more in depth relationship and character development for the leading couple and the supporting cast, the drama is lighthearted and entertaining. Enjoy it!

This drama is a nice romantic comedy within a dark melodramatic plot that comes from the leads been part of influential rival families. The story moves fast between all the twists and relationships but some characters turned to be provisional antagonist that really didn’t go well with their original characterization. Although the leading couple has many cute moments and intimate scenes (kissing), their chemistry was not on par with their romantic scenes; something was amiss with their body language, especially with Zhao Lu Si as Gu An Xin, who did very well on her cute scenes and became somewhat an annoyance when using her child like voice. Expectations of a great romance chemistry which she has shown in the past (i.e. Dating in the Kitchen, Love Better than Immortality) were thrown out of the window for more cute moments. [Maybe it was also Liu Te as Ling Yue / Xiao Ba that was a bit stoned face throughout the drama and didn’t show the intensity of his emotion through his body language, or it could’ve been the production itself ; not sure, but their chemistry was on and off throughout the drama]. Although some of the resolutions were okay, the antagonists didn’t get what they really deserved and Gu An Xin did not get closure from her biological father due to a wrongly used Alzheimer twist in the storyline which was totally ridiculous!] Overall, the drama is entertaining and a good watch while waiting for a great one to come!

This is a fun drama to watch for viewers that are looking for a leading couple with great romantic chemistry. The drama offers romance, mystery, intrigue, and some good action scenes with a dose of some exaggerated humor coming mainly from the characters Rao Mei Na and Fang Xiang that was really unnecessary, these two characters had so much more to offer than just that. Although there are ridiculous twists on the story, the drama is interesting enough to keep the viewer watching until the end. Although the ending is a happy one, it felt a bit rushed in order to get a kind of complete resolution to the revenge/finding justice plot. Still, the leading couple carried the plot with a steadfast love and great romantic scenes. Enjoy it!

The movie is a sequel that could've been added to the drama's ending and the viewer would not waste 1 hour and 15 minutes to get a fairytale ending. Although the movie provides an explanation as how the leading male recovered, it has a comical atmosphere and lacks a loving mood. The movie also brings back some of the cast from the drama but there is no real plot that can be considered a continuation for these characters. The most bizarre character is Xiao Qing Ting [Little dragonfly] which is obviously Luo Han Tong from the drama and there's no explanation as how he made it back to life after his gruesome death in the drama. Overall, just watch the last eight minutes of the movie to get your happily ever after ending!

This is a nice costume period drama. Although the leading lady’s character (played by Huang Ri Ying) can be tiresome at times, her redeeming qualities of been honest, fun, and lovable makes up for some ridiculous decisions that she makes. The leading man’s character is well played by Luo Zheng showing a strong and steadfast love for A Fan. The drama is full of clichés and some will really make the drama a little bit tiresome to watch. When the leading couple is together, they show great playful and romantic chemistry. Even though the drama starts in a lighter tone, there are instances of antagonism and nonsense that seemed unnecessary. Still, the drama is entertaining. Enjoy it!

This is a nice miniseries with good acting, especially from the leading couple but the series needed more episodes for plot and character development. Although the story is a romantic drama, it also has bits of comedy and suspense. The leading couple has good chemistry and the leading lady did a great job performing two characters (twin sisters) with two different and distinct personalities. The plot was delivered in a simple way but the storyline could’ve use longer episodes to flesh out the characters. Although the drama is not perfect, it is entertaining. Enjoy it!

This is a nice romance drama with a heartwarming story of love from different aspects (familial, friendship, and personal relationships). The drama is not perfect but the actors did well delivering their characters. The leading couple’s relationship is sweet and lovely but slow burned and the second lead couple had a more intimate and mature romantic storyline. Although the drama brings about some conflicts that antagonize the relationships (PTSD, vindictive ex-boyfriend, infatuated coworker), it feels like these issues are not examined or explained in depth. Even so, the drama will delight the palate and warm the heart. Enjoy it!

A Familiar Stranger is a great miniseries fantasy romance drama with a touch of comedy and mystery nicely intertwined with a perfect amount of each one of the genres that it covered. Ryan Cheng (as Xiao Han Sheng) and Kay Son (as Shen Quin) did a fantastic job delivering their characters and have great chemistry. The supporting cast and the secondary main couple did a great job also. Ke Ying (as Shi Qi) and Wang Ze Xuan (as Prince Ning) did very well portraying psychotic characters that, due to past traumas, have lost some connection with reality, providing the path to the antagonist characters in the story. This is a well done and delivered short drama that is really entertaining. Enjoy it!

The Romance of Hua Rong is a romantic comedy wuxia. The drama has good cinematography, nice costumes, and action scenes. The leading couple has good romantic chemistry once the leading lady understands the male lead and accepts that she has fallen in love with him. The drama has a happy ending and the sequel aired on May 2022. The drama has a satisfying plot with strong similarity to a slapstick comedy. The leading lady, for most of the drama, is insufferable, impulsive, and insecure about the leading male’s true and steadfast feelings for here. Although the leading male sometimes acts immaturely and constantly tricks the leading lady, there is nothing that he will not do for her and is continuously trying to understand, protect, and demonstrate his love for her.

The Moon Brightens For You is a great drama that offers a nice blending of wuxia, romance, and humor. Both leading and supporting cast did an excellent job bringing their characters to life. The leading couple, Zhan Qing Hong (played by Xing Fei) and Lin Fang (played by Yu Meng Long), delivered their characters very well. Their romance, although it was slow burned, once it developed, was full of chemistry, playfulness, endurance, and steadfast mutual support. The drama is artfully choreograph and the action scenes are very well done; one to mention, which is beautiful and heartwarming, is on episode 24 when Zhan Qing Hong delivers Lin Fang’s father Seven Star Swordsmanship fighting sequence, it was breathtaking! The plot is straightforward and uncomplicated; there are some very nice and tender moments as well as really heartbreaking ones that gave the characters an opportunity to show their acting talent and potential. This drama is filled with many antagonists from different martial artists groups and some very colorful characters; with one that truly excelled in his portrayal of the infamous thief with his signature back-scratcher, Feng Bu Fei masterfully played by Yan Su. This drama is really entertaining, enjoy it!

This is a really nice fantasy romance story. The drama deals with time/zone travel where the leading couple moves within 3 virtual worlds and the real world. As they go beyond the single reality and travel into stories within a book, their relationship grows stronger as time passes . The actors did a good job delivering their characters; the leading couple developed a strong and steadfast relationship and had great chemistry. This is a good short drama that, although there are a couple of plot holes relating to the male lead character’s background and the evil spirit that hunts him down, the story moves fast with a good dose of intrigue, action, and romance.

This is a great lighthearted romantic comedy with some dramatic moments set in a historical era. The plot is easy to follow and the actions scenes are well choreographed. There is some mystery, good storylines for supporting characters, great friendship around the leading actors, and a steadfast romance for the main couple. The main leads have great chemistry, their romantic interactions are suave and well done, and it’s great how they love to tease each other. Although the last episodes feel a bit rushed, it doesn’t take away from the overall sense of entertainment. Great drama, enjoy it!

This is a great melodrama with a mature love story of two individuals that, in spite of the fact that they are deeply in love with each other, they seem to be destined to be lonely, unhappy, and miserable. The storyline is clichéd but the leading actors are the force that drives this drama to successfully tell a story that is full of despair, mistrust, longing desires and, at the same time, is full of loyalty and determination from the male lead to hold his family together. The story telling using flashbacks in a back and forth manner instead of long sequences can be bothersome at times but it works with the overall somber tone of the drama. The leading couple has great chemistry together and their body language and facial expressions bring the characters to live in a way that the viewer is left feeling every bit of their pain and raw emotions. The drama is not perfect, the leading lady can be annoying and frustrating with her lack of trust on the male lead that was constant and steadfast with his decisions and feelings, but, at the same time, even if her decisions are misguided, she truly believes that lying and leaving him was for his benefit. The drama is not perfect, some resolutions are overly dramatic and the end feels rushed and lacking; but this is a drama that is excellently executed and worth watching. Enjoy it!

This is a good romantic comedy with a nice slow burn but well delivered romance. The acting is not the best but, somehow the leading couple managed to keep the excitement of their affectionate relationship development until the end. The drama has weak supporting characters and the misunderstandings are senseless. Even so, the drama exudes cuteness, a candid second female lead, and a steadfast love from the leading couple. The drama is not perfect and it does have the pointless three year separation where the “Cinderella” comes back as a very successful business woman, but it has a fast pace and it is entertaining.
