This sort of storytelling is comicbook style. There are many story arcs and each story arc are ultimately tied to the overarching plot. The Ning'an city was to establish Bai Shou and her relationship with her family and Chong Zhao. The story arc centers around the kindness theme which is basically the core of Bai Shou's character, something she learned from her father. The Outsiders arc is about Tian Hou and how she came to be with Fan Yue. Her anger and intent to kill mirrors that of Fan Yue's for the destruction of his clan. You start to understand his character there. The Fox clan arc is all about love and sacrifice and it is where Fan Yue and Bai Shou confess their love for each other. Their fate will most likely mirror those of Ling Long and Rong Xian, Change Mei and A'Qi, and Mu Jiu. The stone clan arc is about hatred. It further delves into Fan Yue's past and character. They are not disjointed at all.

It's interesting to note that they have the same zodiac sign. They're both libras. I have not seen Ruipeng act so comfortably and playfully with a female co-star before. The last I saw him regularly play fight with a co-star was with Hong Yi when they were shooting The Blood of Youth. And they became so close that they kept in touch long after they stopped shooting and promoting the drama. They also had amazing chemistry on screen I literally shipped them. Looks like he found another person who gets him and really enjoys being around him.

He had that long hair when he celebrated his 28th birthday. He had it chopped off early last year. Maybe he had to do a modern drama so he needed to have short hair. I saw him guest star in Xu Kai and Seven Tan's As Beautiful As You. He had short hair there. I didn't like his hairstyle there, though. He looked like a dork. 😅

He would be so embarrassed. He was so embarrassed when Bai Lu told him he looked gorgeous in his Fox Clan makeup and costume. If I were part of the crew, I would just stare at him speechless all day. He looks so ethereally beautiful in that costume.

Oh yes, one of my friends is a stan of one of the actors I dislike. I even watched his movie with her just so I can understand the hype around him. But man, I really don't get it. He really does nothing for me. He kinda looks like my Chinese neighbor when he was younger, just an average looking dude, so I don't get why many think he's hot. And he's huge globally. I would get eaten alive by his fans if I dare criticize him. Hahaha. And then there's another actor I also dislike. I just don't understand why he's so famous because I think he has the acting range of a potato and he doesn't seem like a nice person in real life. But again, I don't say anything negative about him on these forums. I just avoid his dramas because I can't stand watching him.

He is getting major attention from fans globally that those who find him "lacking" are going out of their way to declare their distaste for his performance and looks. I can never understand that mindset. I have disliked characters and actors too but I don't go around telling people, especially those who obviously like them, that they should dislike them too. It's like they're trying to recruit you into their cult or something. lol

He does seem like a nice guy. In one fan video, I saw him chase after a letter from a fan that got blown away. I also saw him opening letters and reading them.

We don't really know what the mirror does yet. My guess is it contains a fragment of Mo Li's spiritual power and he was able to glean from it that three gods will be reborn, including Mo Li himself. The real divination was done by the Turtle because I assume only he has the power to do so.
