IMO, this is director intention to set up for season 2, but we know there won’t be one. So conclusion, this director just doesn’t explain things and choose to leave it to viewers speculation. 3. I also ask why too🤷🏻♀️. The story just pointed only the ‘blade’ family can use the sword and skills to kill fiends…🤷🏻♀️ Not much rational logic over it. 4. Wei Yu (the novelist)’ work is fun to read with the fantasy element and cool ideas but can’t dwell too deep into the rationality and logic.

Nope. XS falls into the abyss after a fight with fiends. Drama never explained, presumably dead. In novel, he lives with the ghouls. The reason why LXR kept YT, many speculation, one key one is she wants to live like a human so having a human kid, or since she took over Yan business, having Yan’s son around feels more legit., she uses him as a cover up for front line business where she does backend shady stuff.
