I’m confused about what happened. I’ll leave another comment and then hide as a spoiler.
So it’s implied that Li Fei and her father were involved in the captain’s death. Was this an accident? This is separate from the serial killings though, right? I assumed in the chaos of the fight, the captain got shot. But why did it escalate so quickly? It’s never really explained. And there were still murders happening but the MO changed. Was it the same person and Li Fei and her father were just bad luck and bad timing?
Pretty awkward but this one is quiet far off but it's still awkward I don't know if they are trying to encourage…
That’s good to know they’re not playing it up. I watch a lot of costume and watched Bao Shangen in Whispers of Fate and Generation to Generation (loved her in both). So I wanted to give this a try.
Why do these stories always have a family relation component? Here it’s a step-brother. In Speed and Love it was an adopted brother. In Dazzling it was a brother through close family ties but not a biological brother.
It will be release this year, maybe there is a problem. In the beginning, there was a fan war over the billing…
So ridiculous. I hate fan wars. I run a FB group, so I see it too much. I ban anyone for doing it. Personally, I could care less who stars in this. I’m only watching for Guo Jingming.
This is a difficult-to-find vertical drama that I could only locate on one platform, and it had no English subtitles. Sometimes I can still follow a drama without them and get the gist of the storyline or at least enjoy the color palettes and cinematography, but this was not one of those cases. I couldn’t pick up on much beyond a few character dynamics and some arc conflicts, and the costumes and setting felt very basic and low-budget. That said, I watched this entirely for Yan Zixian. While I definitely recommend learning more about Yan Zixian and his career, I wouldn’t suggest using this drama as the way to do it. Normally, I leave reviews but didn't think it would be fair to rate this on a number system when I watched without subtitles.
I’m not in China so my fingers are crossed I can watch on a streaming network. The trailers look so good and I have been missing them as opposite leads since Such a Good Love.
this is so funny! i just started today and i'm already on episode 5 and this even going in/out of the house all day. i've seen a lot of people share posts about this, but t didn't start it until a group friend recommended it (she knows my tastes, so i can trust that her recommendations align with my preferences). i have never seen so many criminals who can't criminal! haha.
I have several top-tier dramas that are among my highest-rated watches or ones I may even love more than this one. And I wouldn't consider them masterpieces. For me, a masterpiece has to meet more criteria than simply being a 10/10 drama, so I don't use that label lightly.
A masterpiece, to me, is a saga—a complete journey. It's a story that takes time to tell a generational narrative, showing hardship, growth, and the passage of time across multiple lives and decades. It's about the depth of the storytelling and the investment made in seeing that journey through from beginning to end.
ep 38 - they lost me with that sorrow - as if they gained some sort of answer. He was still drunk and passed out…
But he was drinking responsibly, so he wasn’t drunk. What’s the difference between drinking water, tea, or wine if you’re not drinking wine to get drunk? If water or tea had been drugged, it makes it better because it wasn’t wine? The point is that he fell asleep not because he was drinking wine. He fell asleep because he was drugged. So if he wasn’t drugged, he would have been awake even though he was still drinking wine (because he wasn’t intoxicated).
I love investigative and occult, but struggle with this one. So I decided to drop it at episode 15. But I’m super curious about Jueming, especially with the flashbacks we’ve gotten. Could someone spoil me and let me know how his arc developed? TIA.
I can't attach photos or I would. So, please visit this link so you can see for yourself Guan Yue is in this (it takes a second): https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CfRqpZHpR/. You can also refer to episode 5 at 5:27 (that's the time he appears) to verify. His part is less than 2 min long, which is I why I listed him as a guest. It's a quick check. TIA.
Hey folks, I tried adding Guan Yue as a guest role, I'm an avid fan and I know it's him. He appears in episode 5 but my addition was rejected without even checking (it could have been held until verified IMO). It takes a second to fact check, so it's unclear why this wasn't done. Can others please verify and suggest the addition so that it is on their radar? TIA.

And for me, The Heir was that drama.
