I also really like the message at the end that PJ realized that he shouldn't live as a replacement of his brother and fullfill something that he thought his family wanted of him (to continue as a general and all that). He realized that his brother would've wanted him to be happy and happiness is to follow your own goals and not live someone else's goals. It's very cool how he decided to leave and live a quiet life in the mountains and leave the Chang Lin house and the general title. He decided to follow his dreams instead of giving in to the non-existing pressure and expectations he always felt. He did tell the Emperor that if he ever needed him, he would come to his aid to the Capital so....PJ should live his life however he wants. It's a very nice message <3
Amazing drama! I loved it to death :D <3 The angsty bromance between Pingjing and Yuanqi D'X <3 I wish someone could've understood the underlying problem Yuanqi had....sure he was a psycho but there was a reason why he became such a monster T_T He was such a pitiful character and it was all the late Emperor-Emperor's fault... I also found it so cool how Lin Xi was such a modern and independant woman. I love how the drama portrayed her like that. She loves PJ but she also wanted to see the World and not just be a woman who patiently Waits for her husband back at home. I'm surrpised China decided to make such a female lead -applause-. I hope we'll get more females like her in asian dramas :D A lovable woman who is independant and who has other goals in life besides marrying a good man.
While the dramas on this list are ranked, I can say that the first 4 are basically tied for first place xD I can't pick between Six Flying Dragons, Time Between Dog and Wolf, Sparrow and White Christmas. Those 4 dramas are my all time favorite dramas <3
Okay, I have so much to say about this drama I don't even know where to start from.Firstly, Gil Tae Mi, I love…
Yes this is very much based off of real historical facts. The bridge and Po Eun's Death for example is taken right out of history records. Even the thing Yi Bang Won and Po Eun said to each other Before Po Eun died is a real quote. Most of the characters existed in real Life. Just check wikipedia. Events too. Some are fictional but a lot are taken straight out of history books. That's one of the reasons why this drama is so Amazing xP
Shunji actually breaks my heart more than Kang To. He has major issues there is no denying that and he is sinking…
I agree with you I Think Shunji is mostly just seen as a pure evil crazy dude but he has so much depth and sadness. I love how this drama protrays gray characters. Kang To isn't exactly a good guy either. I would call them both gray. Kang To being an anti-hero in a way. Shunji's life was just pitiful, and I'm not going to justify the evil stuff he has done but he is one pitiful guy. Especially at the end. I stil can't get over the fact that Mok Dan didn't even consider him a love-option because "he is japanese" like...wtf? he was the nicest guy for her out there at the time (in the beginning of the drama) and yet she just slapped him in the face and didn't even care to give him a try just because of his nationality....wtf? <_< I know she is a nationalist but still...and then she is surprised why he ended up the way he ended up (she and Kang To were definitely partly responsible for Shunji becoming a monster).
This kind of reminds me a Movie Jo Boah starred in as the main. I hope she'll get picked for the female lead. She is really good at playing an obsessed and insane character.
