She probably means overrated, which it is. It doesn’t deserve the 8.6 rating that “fans” like you give IMO. C dramas are hyped by viewers if they are good. If it is not hyped then it definitely didn’t hit the mark with the audience. Just go and look at the comments on douban. Not sure why you are so shocked. It is her personal opinion.

*I don't speak Mandarin so some of these comments are based on what was translated from really helpful Chinese viewers on Youtube*. After QY saved her his hair turned white and he lost all his powers so he is now a common man. She left XB on friendly terms and met QY in the flower field. He initially didn't want her to follow him as he thought she wanted to do it out of pity but she reassured him (no grand declaration though, just a hug and quick kiss) and they left together. So it is a HE and she did chose him but it sucks as we don't get to see them finally happy and he looks depressed in the scene. She also doesn't look super excited. And I wish she had declared her love for him in a more dramatic way considering how much he suffered and how expressive she used to be with that righteous midget XB.
You can watch the two final episodes without subs on dramasQ. Hopefully you will like it better than I did. Maybe my expectations were too high since the drama was really good. :((((((

I knoooooooooooooooow, I wanted to cry watching the last scene. I was like "No, it can't be the final scene of this romance"! I am wondering if that's not a way to transition with a second season. I think Eternal Love 2 happened because the first season was surprisingly successful, so maybe they will produce another one? But the wait would be unbearable so I'd rather someone translate this bloody book. Hahahah.

I would not mind the ending scene if they, at least showed us just a glimpse of their future life. Just something a bit more positive and less depressing (like in Ashes of Love). Although it is a HE it didn't feel like it as the whole mood was so depressing and even when they left together I didn't feel warmth and joy. It is a great shame considering how much they suffered and sacrificed. :)

I am really upset because the ending sucks big time in the drama. After all they went through I was expecting something super romantic but no, the writers had to rush it. I wish I could pay you to translate the book as I have withdrawal syndrome now lol!!!

Yes, I have now dropped it. I tried because everyone seemed to really like it and some people said it becomes better in the mortal realm (sometimes dramas do start slowly and then become amazing), but this is seriously overrated considering the rating and despite the amazing cinematography. I think one of the director's mistakes is having a very obvious cookie cutter approach - mixing up the perfect formula for success that was TMPB and trying to achieve the same thing. If the drama was not centred around love (the title is, after all, love and destiny) it could be bearable but it is supposed to be a romance drama. I don't feel any romance.

I tried, I really did try hard to like her acting and pairing...but I just don't think she can act well. I personally find her exceptionally overrated (compared to other actresses, even less experienced). It is a personal opinion; I probably don't connect with her acting. She tries wayyy too hard to look and act younger which comes off as unnatural and cringe (even the way she smiles is cringe IMO). I have nothing against her as an actress, she may be superb in other dramas/movies, but not this one. Re your comment: "This is not big gesture of love"...but that's exactly what the trailer, plot and title was selling us. Everything is centred around the main couple and their heart-wrenching romance so I don't think it is unreasonable to expect perfect chemistry.

Hi Ani! You have read the book, haven't you? How is the romantic relationship between QY and CH in the book? The drama is very greedy in this aspect as only episodes 30/31 are romantic. Do they get to truly love each other before she get poisoned? Does he ask her to marry him? Thanksssssssssssss :)

We will only know tomorrow. The last two episodes air tomorrow so check again and I will tell you then. In theory, yes, but you never know in C dramas...

Yes, the pairing is not believable at all and I feel no chemistry. Had high hopes but No Ni is utterly disappointing IMO considering how experienced she is. I feel no emotions from her even when she emotes.
