I want to enjoy this drama because of Bailu and ARP, but I freaking hate the director and whoever who was in charge…
It is maddening and something I think that could have been addressed by BaiLu having a maid who tells her story (she was sheltered, she’s learning, etc.). I also think that her boss continues to make her powerless and not her best (like the rushed concert) so that he can say he’s the reason she’s a star.😡
But, it also seems as if it’s meant to be comedic and entertaining. So I’m taking all expectations off the table and enjoying the story BaiLu is trying to tell.🥰
I don't know if it's only me but I always feel like Bai lu's dramas always have a lot of miscommunication, anger…
She’s actually said many times that she doesn’t want to do anymore Xianxia…and her boss forced her to take another one similar to this 😒 She also wanted to rest and declined a palace drama, so her agencies owner (her boss) WENT ONLINE TO SHAME HER INTO TAKING IT😡 We fans are praying she gets to rest since just like Lusi, she’s gotten so thin and can’t sleep😢
Ep 5 - Ok, am I the only one who’s confused? She resists and threatens him that she’s not going with him but…
First - I think they ALL dramas have things hat don’t make sense when we look at actions thru the lens of human emotion.
If we look instead and think about how many of us were in our younger years - sheltered to the ways of the world ,filled with bravado, and a tad fearless, then this character is perfectly normal…unless you’re not that type of person.
BaiLu tends to take on roles that push boundaries and lives characters that are free spirited and low key rebellious (usually in a good way).
Thus, logical depends on the context (unless it’s math, and even then, there are times where this isn’t true 😉).
In Blossom for ex, the reason she was so logical is it was literally her 2nd life AND she had the book.
Not gonna lie - it’d be nice if more writers built in solid storytelling to help the watcher see the progression arc more clearly.

I’ve had trouble in the past with IQIYI’s dramas getting stuck too.
