I'm going to be a bit biased on this one. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a love and appreciation of the performing arts. This drama was a breath of fresh air. It can be quirky and fun, but also sad and heartbreaking at times. It showcases Gukgeuk, a traditional Korean musical genre that has an all female cast. The performances were amazing. The acting was excellent. The writing had so much thought put into it.

We got to see the FL grow so much as a character. She learned something new each episode. Then there were the parallels between the FL and her peers and rivals. There were similarities between these characters' lives and with those of the past generation. Each episode had a story or musical they would perform. Oftentimes, the theme was similar to what the characters were going through in that episode. It was very subtle. You had to be looking for it to pick up on it. The costumes were great and I really loved some of the makeup. These girls looked gorgeous (and handsome). Also, you gotta love the sismance. They were definitely queerbaiting at times. That does not mean you should watch this thinking it will be a GL. It is not. There is no romance.

There were two main things that annoyed me. First, the FL can be frustratingly stubborn at times. She kept ignoring people who were trying to stop her for her own good. Second, I feel like nothing happened to the main antagonist, and that frustrated me to no end. The last four episodes were a bit slow. I would not say it fizzled out, but just like the Gukgeuk musical genre, it may have lost its glory days, yet it still managed to survive. Other than that, it really felt like it was written by people who love the arts for people who love the arts.
