Found this one by accident while looking for the other first love movie and got curious XD well when you name your movies such generic names it happens. For the record I think both would benefit a more fitting name.

The cast was interesting, but I didn’t particularly enjoy it. I guess I’m just in the mood for light stuff not requiring any energy to watch.
The direction made it entertaining (unsurprising of Miike movies. The story itself is very generic and predictable

A light story about imperfect people living in an imperfect world who expect them to be perfect.
The drama itself follows the usual j-dorama pattern, nothing new about it. And outside our main leads, the other characters offer nothing new here. But what brought the drama up a notch for me are the leads.

Their characters are soooo relatable, especially Haneo. From the moment he shows up with his genius lawyer act, to his social media life, to his insecurities. Then there's Ishiko a perfectionist who, up to finishing school, thought she had figured out life only to stumble yet still puts up with the act of knowing all. They were the perfect foil for each other, the best at bringing out the best and worst in each other. I found their chemistry was more of a sibling rivalry. Like I'd die for you unless I kill you first XD.

Also, Oba just doesn't understand the value of having 2 lawyers friends. He's too dumb but I guess can be forgiven for being a sweetheart.

I'm not sure how I feel about this movie. It was depressing about messed people due to messed up parents... It's sickening.
It scares me. Being a parent can bring both the light and dark in you. It's that hard. Once you fall, it's difficult to bring yourself up again.

I must say it was sad seeing that she got 8 years sentence after all that she went through, I understand that…
On a positive note, being in an environment only surrounded by women might make her feel safer. At least she wouldn't fear the look she's been traumatized with.

I feel like I am the sole person in world who actually really enjoyed this.
We can always enjoy a show without finding it good, or not enjoy one while finding it good. It's my case for this show where I enjoyed while finding it full of flaws

Started with an original concept, only to fall into the typical unoriginal police J dorama, but with an increasingly incompetent police force (A point I agree with the main antagonist of the drama here).

Also, the main antagonist was soooo obvious early on!

It was worth watching for the cast though :D

It's very random but I loved Kiritani Kenta's "haaa" he did twice in this episode. It was enough for us to understand his thought at that moment XD

Does anyone care to explain the last scene of the drama?

I totally agree with your complaint about "turf wars". I think that the writers in their attempt to villify Japan…
So true about the nobility part! I thought the same it just didn't make sense.

This drama had some excellent episodes like the one dealing with eating disorder or stillbirth, among others. Also the concept of the cost of suicide was also original and deep. But the way the afterlife was presented and the over the top patriotism didn't make much sense.

Title Oi Handsome! Spoiler
My mum is exactly like that so I relate HAHA
You know my dad is kind of like that. He does show empathy but can be awkward about it. He was never really involved in our daily lives. Just because it’s my dad I guess I never thought much of it, until a friend once gave me the surprised look when I mentioned that my dad never eats meals with the rest of the family. Since then I kinda stopped mentioning to those kinds of things to others to not seem weird haha
Recently I realized how much I’m missing a heartwarming relationship with a father figure. Makes me sad my daughter won’t have that either :(

How do you feel about it? My mom’s the total opposite which can be pretty annoying haha
I guess that’s why it’s so strange to me.

Took a couple of days to complete because I'm not in the mood to get depressed. Why did I decide to watch it? It seemed interesting but it was more gloomy than thrilling (I don't have the energy for thrills anyway :P). Despite the theme, it wasn't too violent or gory which is a + for me

I would say it is a more or less objectively good drama, but what frustrated me was how apathetic the mom is. In the beginning, I found her funny and cool, but that coolness felt more like apathy. On the one hand, she's attentive to the smallest details of her family, on the other hand, she doesn't she an inch of interest in their lives, not a warm place to snuggle to.

I guess they have the dad though, and what a thoughtful, warm dad they have! So I just don't understand why they always end up with one form of leach to another. Maybe it's because they think all men are as worthy as he is. That might apply to the 2 younger sisters, not the older one though.

Between the sisters, the middle one is my favourite, but when it comes to interaction, I love the one between the dad and the youngest.

Can anyone explain this drama to me? Especially the ending?

Also, anyone has links to the mythology this drama is based on? I'm curious.

I don't understand why go through all that pain when that same result could've been reached without it. It just feels like it was all pointless. Well it's the same writer of Someday or One Day who seems to make his stories pointless in the end lol

Anyways, other than the female lead, acting was spot on in this drama. My favourite was Alice Ke, as a character, and how her acting gave the role so many layers. Joe Cheng knew how to keep up with the mystery. His vulnerable hidden persona kept me from hating an otherwise antagonist.

It took me MONTHS to finish this drama. I was stuck at episode 10 where the actions of the female lead character just infuriated me. For 9 episodes I was giving her the benefit of the doubt but as of episode 10, I just was annoyed with every aspect of her personality.

I mean it was far from perfect, the pacing was a bit frustrating, many characters were 1 dimensional, but it was unexplainably enjoyable for me :)
Learning what a ghost bride means culturally it's such an insane thing to have!

Chris Wu's hair cut here... his sense of fashion too but the hair was a crime. Interesting character study. The relationship between the siblings was the main attraction and that didn't disappoint but overall boring movie.

This wasn’t some ground breaking drama but it was fun through and through. I read a lot of criticism on the MDL page on it and I get it, but what makes this drama work is that it doesn’t take itself seriously. Comedic moments don’t stop half way and actually stays comical even in the most anxious scenes.

Also I don’t get the hate on the female lead. I thought she was fitting for the role, and kept being badass saving the male lead a$$ even when she didn’t want to. It actually is refreshing to have a female lead that needs no saving. I just wish her coworkers weren’t so useless (minus mr. Veteran who was a great delight to have)

My only complaint is the casting of Auntie Im. Her character was at least a good 15 years older than the main characters yet not only is younger in reality, she LOOKS another decade younger than her age. I have no actual complaint against the actress, but she didn’t add anything extra either.

You know I read the criticism on this page and I totally get it. It’s not always logical, and surely can be over the top in a lot of ways, but its characters are constantly fun and cute, and the chemistry between the cast is what makes this drama a win.

I actually didn’t like the way the main villain was revealed and felt underwhelmed, but it didn’t really matter. All that matters is how the characters stayed true to their comical self.

Fun sweet dorama throughout 10 episodes. Even situations that could have been dramatic were portrayed in a light way. The title doesn't have much to do with the drama, as they joke about it within the drama.

It's kinda funny that Kanno Miho is one of those actresses that I never think of liking, rarely keek out her work, yet when she plays such loving characters she sucks you in and makes you like her whether you want to or not.

The drama has its flaws and wasted potential but overall works well. I think it could have benefitted with 2 additional episodes.

While I did enjoy the drama, your criticism is on point. Also the whole patriotism generally portrayed in the drama felt weird. You’d think people from the afterlife would be over it. In some ways it felt the after life is as corrupt as current life. In that case, where would one get justice?
