5th time re-watching right now, freezing my screen at some takes, reading at slow speed the script at times (I almost know by heart). It's soothing to my heart especially after watching too many heartbroken Republican era, historical and all that jazz Cdramas excluding the ones on my waiting list. In all aspects of its production, props, casting, make-up, hair stylist, script-writing, acting, wardrobe, every department had excelled and all are irreplaceable (TMOPB is at the same level), This production keeps me grounded on how a screen play should and must be. This is the reason why I am so critical when it comes to new productions. Sitting back to watch with delight the 3rd episode with Jing Xiu's apperance.
Ni Han Jin aka Ba Lu Yun Dan, emotions during his apology scenes were believable. Best acting so far. Not surprising that Ni Han Jin has an impressive portfolio. The only weakness is the soundtrack. At least the ancestral wardrobe was spare. It pleases me. As for the lack of grandiose landscape in this region is due to the short length story of 10 minutes max per episode. Too short a time to make a round tour. This story shows how are ancestral taboos deeply rooted and passed on to next generations. The cultural family bond is strong and unite clans. I think that it is a good background story to develop. The potential is there and wish it will be picked up by a daring director. I still recommend it.

Good story fortunately not for an over 18 episodes. I am still panting to follow just a young adult come to a conclusion all by himself while the over 10 expert policemen sitting around a table dabating all this mess. Quite unreal to me that such events could go unnoticed for so long especially with China strict police force technics and supervision.
He played the role of father really well...supportive, patient...Glad to see another person remembering that drama😊

Oh no...no ! Not Pei Yi's master ! I am so sad ! The martial arts department created for Hou Chang Ron a very cool choreograhy in this 21st episode ! Hou Chang Ron acted in Love And Destiny as Lin Mo's father in her 2nd arch. He was then an amazing father. His other Cdramas always leave me with a good vibe.

Marshall Qian Hong Chu is exhausted (Bai Yu's lower eye lids are swollen and the make-up artist took advantage of it...great skill).
This episode 46 was the herald of the surrender to the capital "Qian Hong Chu wants to surrender a clean, irreprochable land-court-country-population to his emperor". So grand a Marshall, so humble, such a rare and heartfelt friendship.
Discussing their priorities around a homely barbecue is proof of their genuine trust. What a chivalrous and intimate brotherhood. This scene healed my soul for the time being before I start the last 2 episodes.
One episode a day will soon reach our era and would blend to nowdays' wars. At this 45th (edit) episode I feel like a tourist taken on a World round trip. If it is the aim of this Cdrama, it is a winner to achieve such an intention. My heart is shatered into pieces once again. What a great episode so realistically put on screen.

Wang Xing Yue has an humble personality and it shows as Xiao Huai Jin character. It is pleasant and calming. This is what I need between the epic historical and Republican Cdramas I am watching. But when this character burst out of anger his face and body language doen't lie.
Bai Lu's talent is not wasted here it looks as if she needed an interlude through this story which is good rest for her. Her portfolio lists dramas, TV shows, advertisements, social events one after another. I am panting just reading the MDL list.
