Half into watching with my 8 rating for the acting and take a break to write my messy thoughts. A so realistic…
Take 2 of my comment
Just right now finished watching it. I resume with a higher rating exceptionally 10.
Black and white scenes were throwing me into the past of French, Italian, Japanese and Swedish style of filming the present being their past experiences.
I was frightened a moment of possible adultery.
Infront of my eyes they both matured and became responsible adults. However, their love hasn't faltered. It has grown stronger and eating their soul as they age. It reminds me of the 1995 movie The Bridges Of Madison County.
Half into watching with my 8 rating for the acting and take a break to write my messy thoughts. A so realistic story which reality brings more turmoil than happiness. Love plays trick on them and shift them on a weighing scale of utopia and reality. This type of love is their toxique substance which passion sucks in their unatainable dream. What I fear for their love is regret that could drive to madness.
I shall resume this movie once my emotions subside. The movies Better Days, Brokeback Mountains throw me in the same pit of sadness.
Satisfying wrap up. No angst, no anxious cliffangers, just a pleasant story to watch in between the more complicated ones.
Both leads were consistent through and through in their acting. Pei Yi worked hard during the martial arts scenes. Both their performance riding horses was flawless.
Pei Yi stays strong till the last episode. No babyish voice, no sulky girly, no crying puppy moments. Not a moment of weakness rarely seeing in Cdramaland from a strong female lead. She didn't blink an eye during the execution of the chancellor. She performed her duty like a real soldier with a steady emotion although it was obviously tensed. The cherry on the sundae...she didn't cry bitterly then.
Huai Jin down to earth as an astronomer should be, was a dedicated boyfriend and will be as a husband.
Smart Cai Zhao, she has already deciphered Mu Qing Yan's act. He plays the sickly and weak victim to lure his opponents out. I give him a thumb up for that. As for Cai Zhao she knows how to read the room first before interfering smoothly. She is not the type to be bullied. Nice first episode drawing the personality of both leads. To early for a rating. I am not hypocritical for waiting a couple episodes more because the lukewarm acting of too many actors is not appealing.
I tried but dropped it at the humiiation of a young lady's scene by a group of young male adults. Sorry, couldn't the script have another option by starting the 1st episode on that note ?
Thank you but NO thank you. I am down to earth person but not on the mood for such violence.
I understand that the story is entirely different but I am going to heal my soul with a couple of episodes of Amidst A Snowstorm Of Love.
Just finished watching Mumu and it makes a big wave right here in my heart.
Futur viewers please bare with me for a moment.
I rated it 10/10 for the steps taken by the main actors to learn sign language. Cannot find if child actress Li Luo An learned it as child actors' private life stays secret. Never mind she was the center of this love story. She is her father's hero. Also my rating for the impaired cast and the notion of their activities, works and dreams listed in the credits. This was very respectful of the producer(s).
Reading comments on the selfishness of Mumu parents is a little far fetched in my opinion as if it wasn't the basic writing in Cdramaland be it from other countries, cultures, sects. I am going to be direct in my wordings, parents like all animals produce children first because of their uncontrolable lust (for animals it is the rutting season), then for a selfish lineage, their future pride, their old age and the last but not the least as an insurance (in case of divorce). Unfortunately with such selfishness, Karma is a bitch should Karma exist. And also unfortunately, life is a bet. The dices flipped and bang one finds himherself with an hearing impaired or visual impaired child, or both. Life is cruel for poor, low income families, the worst is above their level with corrupt bureaucracy. I am aware of this as I was involved in this community.. I think that judging Mumu's parents through judgemental lenses solely on so called selfish behavior is a lack of reality and a lack of total compassion. I won't be supprised of comments my wordings might fuel.
So should you be interested in watching this movie, please before giving your verdict listen first to adult Mumu's plea at the end of this story. Happy film viewing to you.
I thought for the first 15 minutes of the movie a similarity with Midnight Diner (Mark Chao in the 3 first episodes). Alas quite disappointed to see how child Mumu was brought up. Shall continue watching until adult Mumu appears. I want to see the transition.
This reminds me of the 3 first episodes of Midnight Diner (2013) with Mark Chao. The cast was amazing but Mark Chao represented all the dishes served all along. Should someone interested, it is on this site...
Depends on what you consider "dark". Most of the cases revolve around the injustices done to women in…
Your written comment...my thoughts and similiraties with our nowday's politics, social, media, life itself.
I finished watching Sound Of Silence just after Light Of Dawn and all is the same whatever the country. Cdramaland is raw and I love its reality wrapped like a candy. One never know if life will be sweet or bitter.
I thought the banquet would be a cliffhanger. Bang ! a real disaster. Another guy who got scot-free from his slaughter. Well...well...well no suprise this is Cdramaland. He is so heartbroken... poor soul.
What are these Banquets? Can you please explain, I don't know about them.
She told the emperor that she will organize a banquet as a thank you for her new title. In Cdramaland banquet are most of the time tricky. So, I am expecting one of those and preferably the deadliest one.
It took me several days to watch and just finished it.
I rated 10/10 for the true story that pop up on my screen...a sweet Valentine gift it was the script detailing the degrees of deafness the unseen pride of the impaired the epiphany of Attorney Zhang Qi for what his profession stands for the acting of the hearing actors/ctresses walking the extra miles to learn sign language the complicity of the impaired cast to allow me into their world the crew for taking every member of the cast by the hand and show me a believable story the production for the making of the living compound the ending credits with the addition of some sign language.
