I am the 4163 rd commenter and just stop to give my appreciation on the 1st episode and rated it already 8.5 which is for me a very high rating based on the 1st episode only. Hope I bet on the right horse. Shall watch all of them this morning. I love everything about it....everything.
I am proud of myself not to view the last 2 episodes prior to completing this story. The production was basic but does not underate the acting, story and script. The idea was straight to the point thus avoiding me to skip unecessary scenes. The journey to all the characters was believable to watch. The vilains kept their vilainess at the same level and meet their respective Karma as expected.
Wow, from 8 yesterday to 7.7 today.Haters are working hard. 😪It’s a shame because this one is good.
I don't debate on fans preferences because I don't understand how another human dares humiliate another. However, could you please explain to me why he isn't well accepted as an actor of a gentleman ? I have admiration for his skills, his choice of characters (not all of them but most of them), his natural presence on screen, his acting and very important to me his natural face lines.
This 12th episode is provoking viewers to start a debate. This is what is developing on this thread and I love reading the comments. Today I see myself sitting in a box and looking outside it. This script is unique in Cdramaland. I believe it aims at how distorted a couple relationship can develop after the honeymoon. So, is the result of the high rate of divorces, according to the country, religion, local costums and the couple concerned. It is like personal finances. If, at a young age, one is not taught how to manage one's personal finances, it will be a real chaos later in life. Then, the blame is put on the partner. Once the honeymoon is over one tends to forget what married life includes such as : trust, understanding, compassion, acceptance, respect, debate, conversation, individuality, sharing, affection and indeed love.
My two cents on episode 11 that I found very disturbing. We don't see A Xiu and Yu having adult conversations but yelling at each other. So where is the starting point of the yelling ? They didn't have a conversation before mariage. They were not guided neither guarded as they focused only on their prime passion. This is the missing piece. The writer forces the viewers to be the psychotherapists without us identifying the heart of the problem. What I see unfolding here are only misunderstandings and blames thrown at each others'. Automatically, the couple's wordings became violent, degrading and hurtful. Who wishes to navigate further into a relationship like that knowing that when a doubt takes place, there is no return. As for A Xiu non-consummated-mistress, she doesn't love him. It isn't even platonic. It's an illusion. She says it herself it is admiration. She plays with him. She entices him without sex. She is vile. She wants to possess him because of her fear to lose a good friend. In my book she is wicked.
Their friends for years are accomplices sitting on the fence. I qualify them as mental bullies.
I wish FL would just quit her side gig, especially I understand how she wants to help the chick with cancer but…
I second all that. Episode 9 was a lil ackward to me regarding the cancer patient. I think that putting her boyfriend in a situation as to jeopardize their relationship is not honest about the meaning of love. And asking someone else to test him is a total like of trust in herself. Anyway, I don't believe in perfect relationship from all genders unless, as a couple, living on a desert island 😎 without distractions. Or distractions like having exotic fruits to throw at each other's face. My parents were too busy to cheat on each other. Later we knew when they had an argument as my father was low key because he would not have s*x. My mother went on strike. Coming back to this episode. How can this cancer patient heal herself with so much stress about so little. If the guy wants to leave, her illness isn't the reason but an excuse. I dare quoting Shakespeare *Much ado about nothing".
How Long Chuan Fei Yuan was forced to be killed by harakiri was cleverly plotted. Unfortunately, his young son's death shows the cruelty of the japanese. It is more of a sit down and listen to the story. The architectures, the props, wardrobe, cars were absolutely divine for the eyes. I really enjoyed it. Hope more viewers would discover it.
I find it a bit sad reading the comments here and seeing that almost everyone is watching this drama only because…
Her appearance is starting at the 5th episode. So many viewers - including me - haven't had the chance to discuss her role. Yes, she is not only a star also a real natural beauty. I like her in the 2007 Ming Dynasty, my favourite is Arrows on the bowstring, Legend of My Yue I watched 3 times, Ode to joy I watched only the first two seasons, With You a motivating nurse, The Infiltrator in a tricky role, The Long Way Back a silent fighter.
It is natural that she is wellknown in China. This situation is changing in regards to Chinese movies and dramas. The web is a key element to widen the productions. The productions are excelling in their qualities and is motivating by the westerners' needs of Chinese arts within all their forms. It is costly to get Chinese movies on westerners' big screen. The newest one is Blades Of The Guardians. It is acclaimed and will open doors to the Western countries. Cannes Film Festival is a platform where so many chinese actors/actresses were awarded.
Cdramaland has its fans base that is difficult to please. They tear themselves apart about pretty boys. And this will not change.
About this story, I find the script well written although it isn't my cup of tea. I have so many other Cdramas on my list, but I find this one refreshing.
Xiao Bei too much on point when describing Xiao Xi's set up. Is Xiao Bei setting Xiao Xi up in return ? @ 7:43 episode 4 "I love you" and his only answer "I know" is a sign of storm approaching. Hope I'm wrong.
OMG ! 2nd episode @ 23:13 the title of the movie Sound Of Silence on her T-shirt. I'm so proud it is also recognized here in this drama. What a grand movie it is.
I click on this by mistake, really by mistake, no joke and holly shit what a blast I have at this 1st episode. I was not expected that. I'm not into this type of stories but the script is too hilarious. I needed that. My wordings obliges me to put my comment as a spoiler.
So for those who watched this parallelogram of things; how goes it? I’ll watch after my doctors appointment…
First episode and I'm in. I have a blast ! My laughters startle my cat. I'm not into this type of comtenporary stories but the script is so hilarious, so well acted. It's this type of inside humour that gives me the hope that there are still good writers out there. Hope all goes OK at your doc.

Back to this one. I force myself not to view the last 2 episodes. I crave to see how Mi Lan's ending.
