Tbh, I can't remember all the details. So roughly, when XXC dies they do get married, it should be right at the end when something MXL gives NXY inadvertently releases his memories & power, & he takes on his original form Destiny Book/ Tianming.

One thing that confused me, and you might know the answer: is that out of the 3, only XXC was mortal. So I was wondering why MXL/HDZ is in the mortal realm. Was she banished, or was it by design that Tianming stayed in heaven while she was down there? Also, as MXL, is she still immortal?

TBH, it was a while since I read the book. From what I remember, they were both not meant to have earthly 'feelings.' Especially Tian Ming had to be detached from the world. They were created as a 'pair.' So maybe 'soulmate' if you had to label it.

Hence the foreshadowing when NXY answered he doesn't know if he's feeling 'love.' So I don't think they were together like that before (someone jump in if I'm wrong).

I'll semi-spoil: They are spiritually connected. It's the origin part of the story, in the past. Though for NXY it's not quite over.

Definitely yes! If you want to see WD's acting, it's the one. He was wild as 'Gongzi'. He'll go from gentle & ruthless, to broken & chilling. He was also in the movie 'Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity'. He plays a Yandere puppet in love. In fact, NXY feels like a mix of both of these chars...for now.
