As narrativas midiáticas? Ou, quem sabe, pelo simples e, ao que parece, absolutamente irrefutável fato de que ele cometeu o indefensável crime de — vejam só — ter nascido homem?

Realmente, tenho genuína curiosidade em compreender semelhante critério de julgamento.

*The press declares him guilty, having cited relatives and a certain individual in support of the accusation.*

A particular group of people immediately pronounces: “He is guilty. Certainly. Completely!” and, with admirable enthusiasm, proceeds to shower him with thousands of calumnies and defamatory accusations.

*Later, the same press informs us that he has been found innocent; that relatives had, moreover, fabricated evidence and attempted to incriminate him, with that very same individual ultimately being arrested.*

One might suppose that such a development would occasion the smallest reconsideration. Alas, one may perhaps expect rather too much of them. The same people, displaying that agreeable mixture of laziness and intellectual dishonesty upon which they appear to pride themselves, exclaim: “Oh, imagine! What an outrage! He is certainly guilty! Did you not see that the press reported that so-and-so argued this, and such-and-such claimed that?”

How fortunate to possess a conviction so perfectly arranged that no fact, however inconvenient, can ever disturb it.

It would be tragic, were it not so exceedingly amusing.

People who have never seen the investigation papers, who have no means of examining a single technical report, and who have had no direct contact with the case whatsoever nevertheless consider themselves perfectly entitled to sit in judgement online and condemn whoever happens to displease them. Yet, with equal ease, many will absolve precisely the same conduct — or worse — when committed by someone they happen to admire.

It is a most curious arrangement of principles: severe enough for one’s enemies, yet wonderfully accommodating to one’s favourites.

Could it be alienation?

Or perhaps merely an idle mind. For, as the saying goes, an idle mind is the Devil’s workshop — and one cannot help suspecting that the Devil has seldom been better supplied with willing apprentices.

Pls watch Amanza, Page Turner, or Ping Pong Ball to see what a great actor was lost to Korean celebrity killing…
It is quite a rare pleasure to encounter someone here possessed of both good sense and the ability to reason logically. Far too many seem content to believe whatever the media or the latest rumour happens to place before them; yet, when that very same media reports that an actor has been cleared of wrongdoing, or has himself been the unfortunate victim of false accusations, their reasoning appears to abandon them entirely.

I cannot help but think that there must be some considerable bitterness behind such eagerness to condemn others, as though certain people find it necessary to distribute the weight of their own resentments wherever an opportunity presents itself. It is rather a sad habit, really.

In any case, I have sent you a friend request. It is genuinely lovely to find someone as sensible and thoughtful as you here on MDL. One begins to fear, at times, that such company has become exceedingly scarce. ♡
