It is embroiled in a ridiculous campaign that accuses it to promote Japan and use japanese clothes and cultural elements since the first trailer aired. since the anti-Japanese feeling run high due to Fukushima waters, the last thing they needed is to be used as a target before even airing one episode.
Secondly, the director is himself very problematic as he has been accused and proved guilty of plagiarisms, he is known as The « Super Plagiarism Boy". In 2020, he and YuZhen were publicly denounced by 111 Chinese film and television industry insiders. The last thing they needed here too, is to have people rehearse what happened in the past with him, and find fault where there is none.
Lets not talk about one of the actors being a r%pist, we should thank the Drama God that the drama even got to air to begin with.
