Honestly changing the ending just because of audience won't make sense because anything in this drama doesn't make sense anyways. Honestly I really didn't wanted DM to endup with HJP after her NDS continuation of feelings even after 3 years like something is wrong with DM. But the only reason that if HJP wants a happy ending he needs to get DM because that's the only reason is for his happiness but that seems quite impossible.
